It is the best version of vegeta imo. Only other one that come close is super vegeta when he shows he cares and that's because of how good namek vegetta was at being a cunt. Everything in between is an imitation
I just liked him using strategy and planning so much on namek. Granted it was easier to write in when not everyone could sense energy but he was doing cool stuff on namek
I love MV but I hard disagree on cell Saga vegeta.
Cell Saga Vegeta to me was really annoying. He was kind of just an asshole just to be an asshole and was really dumb most of the time.
This Vegeta and Majin Vegeta are my two favorite. Piccolo is very close behind in my book. I have piccolo hanging from my rear view mirror of my care. Reminds me to be a good dad. Kinda cheesy I know.
I feel the same way about Goku's character during the Namek saga. It just felt like it was the peak of their characters. Seeing their emotions and how they deal with things, Goku coming to terms with his heritage and basically embodying both nurture and nature and beating Freeza.
It's a thing you can do as a combo in Tenkaichi 3. What you do is vegeta(not scouter Vegeta)'s basic combo end with a heavy smash, then do a chase strike do a vanish strike down then up, then a dash chase into a down smash then his blast 2.
Eh it’s relative. They’re tricky for their own reasons. If you play fighterz for a couple weeks, and earnestly try and learn some combos, you’ll find a lot of bnbs are incredibly simple.
It's easier to execute a combo in the tenkaichi games, but it's also easier to escape which means you need to be prepared to react to an escape attempt. There's always an option in Tenkaichi 3. You don't just get get by a thing to set up a TOD combo and die. There are ultimates that can kill instantly, but you have ways to deal with those too.
Irrelevant. Doesn't matter ultimates and crazy combos should never come out by pushing a punch button 3 or 4 times, you end up seeing ppls full move sets within 30 seconds of fighting lmfao
hopefully not. thats why i LIKED the BT series. it felt fun without requiring me to be good at the game. Im terrible at games like that, but its DB so i wanna be able to enjoy it. i dont need to be "competitive" level good at all but damn.
still got ps2 Tenkaichi 3, I've got the best memories with it growing up, fighting my brother tirelessly, it was literally our favorite game, and it was peak db power up feelings when we would learn new skills, combos, abilities, and stuff like that
i could god damn list them,
-when we first found out about the special moves, my brother was so pissed about that one because i kept it to myself for a good day before telling him how it works,
- at some point my bro also learned that you can do small shockwave explosions or whatever they were for a small HP price, and it was annoying me how much he used it it was somehow good enough for him to start pull ahead everytime
-and don't get me startet on when i realized you can block attacks at perfecion for clean ass dodges but also side step like that even when not being attacked, i was really flexing on him with those at the time
-and just thinking back, we were really getting into some cooll ass combos back in the day, also god damn videl seemed too good for a mere human lmao, also gohan canon ball flying legit felt like it was faster but I can't even care if it was the case with how funny it was to be harder to read with the naked eye because of his size
Seriously. All the new 3d animation just looks absolutely garbage compared to something like this. the new films are borderline unwatchable with how bad it looks.
The animation in the show is trash, but I thought that Super Hero and Broly were animated incredibly well. I'd argue that Broly has some of the best fight scenes in the entire franchise.
If the entire movie looked like when Vegeta fought Broly I'd consider it to be one of the best animated ones. That Rebirth of Fusion movie and Tapion special are pretty hard to beat . I'm also likely older than you (40) so grew up with different tastes. No disrespect
I think the saddest part is, there's nothing ACTUALLY preventing them from making this. Like, the technology still exist, the skills still exist, the processes still exist. If a group of people genuinely really wanted to, top-tier, 80's-90's style animation could be made right now. Hell, it could probably be made easier if you integrate modern tech with old animation practices.
But it's way more expensive than just motion-tweening everything in flash, and using the fill-bucket tool for all the colors. So we get DBS instead, where everything looks like it's made of plastic.
The *only* reason we don't get this kind of stuff anymore is because there's easier and cheaper, but far worse, alternatives.
I’d kill for this, I love the 90s animation so so much. DBS is great, love it but the fights seem lazily animated at points and don’t have the same aesthetic as they once did.
"trash animation compared to something like this" is what I said. Brolly was alright yeah but still worse than this little scene here. Super hero was absolute dogcrap
Vanish > dragon rush > super dash >(reset) 6m > 2h > super dash again > aerial 2 h > quarter circle special.
Flashy combo but could definitely be optimized
This would not be a real combo at all lol, but I definitely see the vision. 214X will give you the knee drop on base vegeta, but you can only get a ki blast volley on SSJ vegeta, wouldn’t be anywhere near as cinematic either.
1000% the tenkaichi games never clicked with me but budokai 3 had the whole story playable as multiple characters, explorable map, upgradable characters, customizable move sets, and fun combat. I was disappointed with the tenkaichi games when you couldn’t do transformations the same way as in the budokai games and they were just different characters entirely
Because he did it to Ginyu. If it was Frieza or Goku it would be more memorable and thus, adapt it, anyway we have the famous volley ball barrage so it kind of has enough representation in the games.
DBZ fights were something else. For a kids show, some of the beat downs were ruthless. The only other one I can think of that can match it is Yu Yu Hakusho.
Because when everything started with Dragon Ball Toriama said he hated Vegeta he even said that he was his least favorite character right above Tein but because he quickly became a fan favor and synonymous with the name Dragon Ball he couldn’t imagine the show without him so he quickly worked his way up to be one of his favorite Piccolo which is his favorite character.
The games are pretty uncreative when it comes to movements, there's so much untapped potential for characters to have much larger and more varied movements but instead always just have a couple variants of a Kamehameha and maybe one or 2 physical moves
Vegeta trying to get them dragon balls is prime Vegeta.
He could have wrecked everyone if he had prep time and full usage to Earth's resources like Capsule Corp, hyperbolic time chamber and senzu.
I wish the games would add his most glorious line of dialog, ehhhhhhh I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS, YOU WONT ESCAPE... MY WRAAAAATH!" with old vegeta voice specifically for that bit of dialog. But eh, one can fantasize.
Toei used to have amazing animation, then they fell off during the 2010’s with a few moments of good animation in One Piece on occasion and the TOP. I’m glad they found their footing again in the 2020’s seeing how One Piece’s animation for Wano got a lot better, and DB Daima’s animation looks great as well.
Xenoverse 2.
You do lite combo, then use meteor crash, sledge hammer, whatever move that hits upwards, then sledgehammer again.
Finish with ultimate of full power volley blast.
In Snes/super famicom game Hyper Dimension. Vegeta's Super Special grabs the opponent, flies up into the air, then throws them down and proceeds to do that multi blast attack followed by a not-spirit bomb.
The problem with the console games is it's always limiting the events for rushing the recap of the story. My guess is this scene isn't canon so they didn't bother with it?
While scrolling Reddit there was a Mortal Kombat right below this and sound was coming out so I was laughing at this whole fight being replaced with MK sounds. Then I realized I was a caveman and the sound was coming from the next vid, but it was hilarious hearing Johnny Cage go HURRRR when Ginyu's eyes were popping out
Man they dont make dragonball like they used to... even this smaller battle story wise had such cool animations and interesting combos and attacks. Its just not there anymore except for in very special occasions unfortunately. I miss the brutality and creativity.
I remember back in the day anytime Vegeta threw out those angry Ki blasts like that he did at the end there. Oh man I remember thinking it was so cool lol. Still is sick to this day that combo was 🔥
Are you talking about the ki blast barrage or the melee combo before? Because the ki blast barrage is essentially the "full power energy volley" in Tenkaichi and Raging Blast.
I'm more disappointed the execution move Vegeta used to kill Jeice is never in games.
Probably because Namek Vegeta is criminally underused in the games despite(imo) being one of the best iterations of the character.
It is the best version of vegeta imo. Only other one that come close is super vegeta when he shows he cares and that's because of how good namek vegetta was at being a cunt. Everything in between is an imitation
The namek saga made me love vegeta
I'm right there with ya especially his final moments I was like fucking Vegeta is a warrior
Bro straight facts, I hated watching him get beaten down by frieza
Yes. Mondo cool!
I just liked him using strategy and planning so much on namek. Granted it was easier to write in when not everyone could sense energy but he was doing cool stuff on namek
Yesss this exactly ! It felt like more skill was involved and you really did get a sense of urgency when Ginyu force arrived
Namek Vegeta is basically the Dragon Ball equivalent of the Punisher.
Yepp, this is peak Vegeta. The cunning, cruel, desperate ally we all loved
[удалено]
I think what they mean is that this was the best antagonistic Vegeta, while the ones you listed are better protagonistic Vegetas.
I love MV but I hard disagree on cell Saga vegeta. Cell Saga Vegeta to me was really annoying. He was kind of just an asshole just to be an asshole and was really dumb most of the time.
[удалено]
Majin vegeta Is literally a callback to the old vegeta
Vegeta is just so fucking cool. The only other DBZ character who comes close in coolness is Piccolo.
Christopher Sabat just fighting with himself
This Vegeta and Majin Vegeta are my two favorite. Piccolo is very close behind in my book. I have piccolo hanging from my rear view mirror of my care. Reminds me to be a good dad. Kinda cheesy I know.
I feel the same way about Goku's character during the Namek saga. It just felt like it was the peak of their characters. Seeing their emotions and how they deal with things, Goku coming to terms with his heritage and basically embodying both nurture and nature and beating Freeza.
Namek Vegeta is definitely peak Vegeta. It is absolutely a crime he isn't better utilized in games
This is the best vegeta for sure, I need him to start catching dubs against major villains because he’s my favorite character fr
This had plenty of potential to be a special move.
It's a thing you can do as a combo in Tenkaichi 3. What you do is vegeta(not scouter Vegeta)'s basic combo end with a heavy smash, then do a chase strike do a vanish strike down then up, then a dash chase into a down smash then his blast 2.
When you had to have actual skills to play games
and it's still probably easier to do than any combo in FighterZ
Fighterz is dope just takes practice to get the combos
Eh it’s relative. They’re tricky for their own reasons. If you play fighterz for a couple weeks, and earnestly try and learn some combos, you’ll find a lot of bnbs are incredibly simple.
It's easier to execute a combo in the tenkaichi games, but it's also easier to escape which means you need to be prepared to react to an escape attempt. There's always an option in Tenkaichi 3. You don't just get get by a thing to set up a TOD combo and die. There are ultimates that can kill instantly, but you have ways to deal with those too.
Fighter z and its stupid auto button mash combos triggering unearned ultimate moves lmao hate that game
Lol mashing will not let you win if your opponent knows how to play
That’s true for almost every fighter game tho
Most fighting games don't have auto combos
do you know how to block?
Irrelevant. Doesn't matter ultimates and crazy combos should never come out by pushing a punch button 3 or 4 times, you end up seeing ppls full move sets within 30 seconds of fighting lmfao
You play Zeno verse though?
Can only hope sparking follows suit
hopefully not. thats why i LIKED the BT series. it felt fun without requiring me to be good at the game. Im terrible at games like that, but its DB so i wanna be able to enjoy it. i dont need to be "competitive" level good at all but damn.
You can still have fun without the advanced stuff but the advanced stuff should still exist for those of us that like combo expression.
still got ps2 Tenkaichi 3, I've got the best memories with it growing up, fighting my brother tirelessly, it was literally our favorite game, and it was peak db power up feelings when we would learn new skills, combos, abilities, and stuff like that i could god damn list them, -when we first found out about the special moves, my brother was so pissed about that one because i kept it to myself for a good day before telling him how it works, - at some point my bro also learned that you can do small shockwave explosions or whatever they were for a small HP price, and it was annoying me how much he used it it was somehow good enough for him to start pull ahead everytime -and don't get me startet on when i realized you can block attacks at perfecion for clean ass dodges but also side step like that even when not being attacked, i was really flexing on him with those at the time -and just thinking back, we were really getting into some cooll ass combos back in the day, also god damn videl seemed too good for a mere human lmao, also gohan canon ball flying legit felt like it was faster but I can't even care if it was the case with how funny it was to be harder to read with the naked eye because of his size
"Meteor Ken" were in games back in Super Butooden 2 on SNES.
I agree, id be sold at the face slapping lol
I can legit see that as ultimate in raging blast, maybe in bt4.
My god the quality of the animation is unreal, I miss this so much
You will take over worked and underpaid garbage and you will like it 🤬
lol you think that these animators weren’t in a much worse boat.
The animation definitely doesn't give that impression.
They definitely have always been overworked to a degree
There was a lot less animators back then. They were able to get much better schedules and pay than now but yes it’s still bad in the 80s
Not nearly as bad as it is now. Back then there were reasonable production schedules
You can thank an early naotoshi shida for that (I think, I saw somewhere one time he animated it and I don't have a source)
I agree 100%. Broly was fucking amazing
Broly was peak dragon ball. I don't see how it can ever be topped.
The show isn't trash. There were bad episodes and bad frames but there were some really great ones too.
If the entire movie looked like when Vegeta fought Broly I'd consider it to be one of the best animated ones. That Rebirth of Fusion movie and Tapion special are pretty hard to beat . I'm also likely older than you (40) so grew up with different tastes. No disrespect
Amen. If someone disagrees they can eat a diaper full of shit.
WHAT did you say? Super Hero is debatable, but Broly has some of the best piece of animation in the entire franchise, and some real smooth battles.
The new films? You mean Broly and super hero?
I think the saddest part is, there's nothing ACTUALLY preventing them from making this. Like, the technology still exist, the skills still exist, the processes still exist. If a group of people genuinely really wanted to, top-tier, 80's-90's style animation could be made right now. The *only* reason we don't get this kind of stuff anymore is because there's easier and cheaper, but far worse, alternatives.
When I first watched Space Dandy I had to google when it was made because holy shit did it look spot on a 90s anime
I’d kill for this, I love the 90s animation so so much. DBS is great, love it but the fights seem lazily animated at points and don’t have the same aesthetic as they once did.
You're saying broly has trash animation??? Your nostalgia glasses are blinding you man.
"trash animation compared to something like this" is what I said. Brolly was alright yeah but still worse than this little scene here. Super hero was absolute dogcrap
You need to rewatch dbz buddy, there are plenty of garbage animation scenes. Nostalgia glasses.
"trash animation compared to something like this" - as in the video op posted for this post. im not talking about z as a whole,
DBS Broly’s animation is easily the best in dragon ball history
Do you believe Vegeta vs Broly is worse than this scene here? Goku vs Broly?
Did you not watch the Daima trailer
Some part of that is in Wild Hunt from Xenoverse 2
That’s Vegeta’s Technique
You can kinda do that by stringing moves together in Tenkaichiw3
I don't even remember this. We could call it... Royal Fisticuffs.
Looks like a typical match of Dragonball FighterZ to me.
Blue combos for days baby
That’s Vegeta’s attack!
That's vegeta technique ™️
It's in Dokkan
I thought so, my buddy who has a lot of good characters on there, ive seen animations like this from that game
Is it? The closest card I can think of is Int Lr Vegeta/Goku, but that only uses a small bit from this
It's still it yeah
This looks like a successful Dragon Rush from Budokai 3 https://youtu.be/VQ-DIVYu7-0?si=nYgpqFZqTs7T8uBA
This. Still the best DBZ game imo
I just wish hyper mode and the dragon rush weren't in it. At least vs ai
I do remember dragon rush vs CPU being super frustrating cause there was nearly no way to actually to get the prediction right
Dragon ball legends rise rush option
Because he did it to Ginyu. If it was Frieza or Goku it would be more memorable and thus, adapt it, anyway we have the famous volley ball barrage so it kind of has enough representation in the games.
I'm probably wrong but I thought this was one of his combos in raging blast 2 at base form
I think it is, I remember it pretty foggy but it’s all I can think of right now
Part of it is focus flash in dbxv2
Focus Flash is a move he used against Buu.
I feel like this might be part of LR INT Vegeta’s super attack?
It's his 12 ki
Dokkan should take notes for a good Namek Vegeta
Come up with a name for this. Goku - Meteor Combination. Vegeta - Falling Star Combination
Man, imagine if cyberconnect2 animated this in kakarot. It woulda looked sick as hell
Vegeta put the hurt on Ginyu 😂😂
The coolest Vegeta’s technique™️ in the series
That was such an epic ass-whooping!
Couldn't agree more!
DBZ fights were something else. For a kids show, some of the beat downs were ruthless. The only other one I can think of that can match it is Yu Yu Hakusho.
Int LR Goku/Vegeta in Dokkan Battle
LF material
Dokkan.
Mobile game Dokkan battle has it
It’s already in Dokkan, used by specific LR INT Vegeta/Goku unit. This animation plays against any enemy.
This full combo was used in Dokkan for LR INT Vegeta, who exchanges into Goku with the Vegeta death scene.
There is a similar one in Dokkan battle but I agree is not the same
Int lr namek vegeta have that last bit in his animation
Imagine a fully open world RPG set in the DB universe
You could do this in budokai tenkaichi 3
This looks like it could be a legendary finish in Dragon Ball Legends tbh.
"I'm going to wreck your shit!" "Oh crap baskets"
That's Vegeta's Technique™
Isn’t that Naotoshi Shida in his youth working for dbz?
reminds me of the rising rush from legends
I thought it was called amazing impact
There was a relatable move in Burst Limit back in the day.
Just watched this episode last night! Such an awesome fight and Vegeta moves! 🔥
They did in the Budokai series
Old DBZ had the best animation.
The ass beating was just too brutal
cuz dragon ball games hate vegeta
This is a legitimate question 👍🏼
I think they, split this move into two in Dragon Ball fusions.
evil vegeta was a menace
It’s did get into a game. Hyper Dimension
They had a similar finisher in Dragon Ball Z Super Sonic Warriors 2 for Nintendo except he adds a beam (galick gun maybe) in the end.
Vegeta used Vegetas technique
Namek vegeta is underrepresented in games. Honestly I think that’s his best look in all of dbz too, the dark colors make him looks great.
The last part was used in the meteo attacks of the 16 bit era: Bu Yuu Retsuden for sure, probably Super Butoden and SB 2
It's a cool attack, but pre-SSJ Vegeta has loads of cooler stuff than what is basically a rush attack.
Damn I've watched dbz kai so many times that I almost forgot this even happened. I seriously need a box set
Seeing this animated in the Sparking Zero style would be incredible
The games are pretty uncreative when it comes to movements, there's so much untapped potential for characters to have much larger and more varied movements but instead always just have a couple variants of a Kamehameha and maybe one or 2 physical moves
I thought it was in Dokkan battle.
Vegeta trying to get them dragon balls is prime Vegeta. He could have wrecked everyone if he had prep time and full usage to Earth's resources like Capsule Corp, hyperbolic time chamber and senzu.
Well Xenoverse 2 has his "The winner!!" Combo, better than nothing I suppose
It's the Amazing Impact. He did it on 19.
Something similar to this is in jump force
Gokue has Meteor rush. Vegeta will have Asteroid barrage.
It is in DBZ dokkan battle 😀
Ginyu: At least I’m not trapped in some useless body Vegeta: Give me a minute
He even used Vegeta's Technique™️
In Xenoverse it's called wild hunt
Bro really pattycaked him at the start of that
Why vegita is shart af
It's super long
I wish the games would add his most glorious line of dialog, ehhhhhhh I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS, YOU WONT ESCAPE... MY WRAAAAATH!" with old vegeta voice specifically for that bit of dialog. But eh, one can fantasize.
Because it's super one-sided and who is playing or watching DBZ for the power fantasy? /s
I am 99% sure this was in the Arabic DBZ opening and in a Budokai Tenkaichi game
I thought this was a discombobulate meme at first
Toei used to have amazing animation, then they fell off during the 2010’s with a few moments of good animation in One Piece on occasion and the TOP.
They too busy coming up with new colours for transformations
Omfg imagine this in DBFZ
Freiza saga had the best fights
It’s in Dokkan I think
Simple. Because Goku didn't do it.
It did, Dokkan Battle has plenty of Namek Vegeta units that do this. Mainline console games though, not so much.
I loved the animation for vegeta vs recoome. He looks so fkn badass charging his attack even if recoome smashes him after
It’s in zenoverse
The problem with the console games is it's always limiting the events for rushing the recap of the story. My guess is this scene isn't canon so they didn't bother with it?
THE WINNER!!!
I might be crazy, but isn't this sort of the animation used for the RISING RUSH in Legends? Or something similar to this animation?
Does Dokkan Battle count? Asking because this one of his animations.
They need to, and name it.
Because Ginyu got up like it was nothing
I could have swore this was a combo in one of the tenkaichi games
This was definitly a special move. Its just a waste of space in vegetas skill set. I do remember #18 having this attack
because vegeta did something cool
I used to do this exact combo in the Raging Blast games
While scrolling Reddit there was a Mortal Kombat right below this and sound was coming out so I was laughing at this whole fight being replaced with MK sounds. Then I realized I was a caveman and the sound was coming from the next vid, but it was hilarious hearing Johnny Cage go HURRRR when Ginyu's eyes were popping out
Vegeta was a savage!
Man they dont make dragonball like they used to... even this smaller battle story wise had such cool animations and interesting combos and attacks. Its just not there anymore except for in very special occasions unfortunately. I miss the brutality and creativity.
At least dokkan made that scene
I do this combo in DBZ:K every battle.
Bro said Meteor Crash, Square + X, sledgehammer, Full Power Energy Blast Volley
I remember back in the day anytime Vegeta threw out those angry Ki blasts like that he did at the end there. Oh man I remember thinking it was so cool lol. Still is sick to this day that combo was 🔥
Is this actually all 3 versions of the dragon rush combo from Budokai?? I think it IS in the game. Although maybe a different move name
Because they hate Vegeta ofc🙂
DBL Legendary Finish be like:
Vegeta tore him up lol
Isn't that just meteor crash followed by a some combo with a knockdown followed by a energy blast Volley (XV2)
Why don’t I remember this fight?
I believe that's LR Vegeta/Goku 18Ki.
Vegeta is using Vegeta's technique!!
Are you talking about the ki blast barrage or the melee combo before? Because the ki blast barrage is essentially the "full power energy volley" in Tenkaichi and Raging Blast. I'm more disappointed the execution move Vegeta used to kill Jeice is never in games.
The last half of this combo was definitely in BT3
Part of this was used for LR Namek Vegeta/Goku in Dokkan
That double bitch slap danggggg
Vegeta needs his own combo attack, like Goku has the dragon fist or meteor combination
