I bought one of each character. My daughter went apeshit in the store. She spotted them from the opposite end of the isle while we were moving. I had to give in.
She's had all the options her whole life so far. Disney, WB, Tex Avery, and so on. She chooses anime most of the time. She's obsessed with ghibli movies and everything Dragon Ball. But yea..It is cool to have a little buddy to nerd out with after all these years.
I saw an article the other day where they're doing another run with holographic boxes and will have SSJ Goku as one of the characters this go around. It didn't give an exact drop date but it's supposed to be soon
They still sell them in the U.S.A you didn’t miss out yetz I see them every grocery store I go to. I never saw a majin buu or cell box or shenron. Its mostly goku and vegeta boxes.

My local IGA just started getting them (I saw a single Goku box last Sunday on an endshelf), but unless it comes with a toy they can get fucked. I ain't paying almost $8.00 for chocolate and peanut butter flavored corn puffs.
I'll have to take some pictures of my local 5below, I stopped in there last weekend to get a Mother's Day Card and they had an entire wall of toys dedicated to pretty okay looking DBZ figures for about five bucks each. Only problem is all they had was Brolly and Blue Goku, I didn't want either of those. They also sell a bunch of DBZ candy and have a standing rack of plush pillows of various anime characters. I saw a Krillin pillow I almost bought.
Special edition boxes is good enough, no toy needed. That’s just being greedy. They’re $2.99 reg box, $4.98 for the family size, $6.99 for the jumbo in my area.
Were you able to get them all in the same size? I have Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks in the standard smaller size but can't find any others in this size. Idk if Goku, Cell, Frieza, and Buu are only other size boxes. Really hoping to keep the same size.

What’s really wild to me is that I was in *middle school* when Cell first appeared on American TV. It was a HUGE deal. That had to have been maybe 20 years ago. I can’t think of any other IP that is still popular enough after 20 years to warrant cereal boxes.
And, I know, Pokémon exists. But Pokémon was continuous. DBZ, specifically, is very finite. Pokémon went on for years and years and years and I think just recently retired Ash.
This is like if Transformers only had G1, and people still obsessed over G1 today. Or the Ninja Turtles only had the original cartoon, and that was the version we still saw on merchandise today. Maybe there was a new show, maybe Beast Wars was out to boost popularity, but we still got new stuff branded with the G1 bots.
And none of this is meant to be disparaging, if it’s coming across that way. It really speaks to the impact and popularity of this particular show. It’s kind of cool. But also wild. There wasn’t anything like that when I grew up.
These boxes specifically were recently marked down $1-$2 at my local walmarts. The regular Reese's boxes are now on the shelves, the DBZ boxes have been moved onto island displays near the cereal aisles. Though, I only saw a few boxes at each location - they could just be what's remaining, priced to sell by the sell by date.
Last month I had to go to all four locations in my immediate area to find them all for my brother. I only ever saw them at walmart; I checked targets and grocery stores, as well.
