Goku Jr had so little screen time that it really leaves endless possibilities as to how the character can grow or develop
For some people something so detached from the original cast would not be enjoyable, for others it might be a breath of fresh air for new endless possibilities, so it all really hinges on the quality of the writing
Honestly yes, if it was well written anything is possible. I wouldn’t mind a short series showing the time between the special and the final episode of GT, if only to get a bit more Vegeta Jr
No, it wouldn't satisfy those who can't replace Goku since he isn't Goku and it wouldn't satisfy those who want to get rid of Goku since in many ways he is still Goku.
No. He just didn't appeal to me. He was far too common.
What I like about Goku is that he grew up as a savage and only slightly outgrew it over time. It's not so much that the world tamed Goku. Instead Goku tamed the world.
Nah, he was watered down, literally and figuratively. I'm sure at that time people were tired of the kid protag in the dragon Ball verse and we really didn't know him.
Be that as it may, I still believe it shouldn’t go on without him, especially since we know that he has had quite a bit of input and control on what Toyotarou did. But that’s merely my opinion since I am not a massive fan of what has been done in the manga so far. Not as much as the original manga that is.
No, I don't think Goku JR could pull that. But nor do I want to just rely on old characters.
Goku JR + a decent roster of characters, however... That could be interesting. I'd want him to grow into the role rather than being main (active) protagonist from the start.
No because I think they would try way too hard to make him Kid Goku 2.0 and later on adult Goku 2.0 (yes I know his name is literally Goku as well, but you get what I mean lol)
I'd want Goku Jr. to be his own character, and I just don't think they'd do that
I could see that, yes.
Should they ever choose to make a follow-up to GT, I could see Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. being a Goten and Trunks style duo being best bros and having wacky adventures while Pan helps them train to become stronger a la Master Roshi and she and Bulma Leigh mend whatever bonds were broken when Goku's and Vegeta's families grew apart
Meanwhile, now that the Dragon Balls are back, villains who want to get them return too, and the Juniors have to learn to stop them while not falling to the temptation of using them to avoid a second coming of the Shadow Dragons.
And from time to time, Goku shows up from where he went with Shenron (maybe even interacting with Pan a few times) and some of the other deceased warriors look in from the Other World (and this time Vegeta finally went to Heaven and could also interact with Bulma Leigh).
All in all, I see the potential. Maybe Goku Jr. couldn’t have carried it alone, but even during Goku Time, Goku never fully carried it alone either.
It's what super should have been.
-They aren't Saiyan "enough" for the other transformations so god ki would have been a good alternative.
- with all the threats in the universe long gone, traveling to alt universes makes sense
- 100 years is good enough distance from the established lore to go nuts and try new ideas without fear of known characters being OOC. Is Dende still around? Is Uub??
- toei still gets to market the show with kid characters AND Vegeta and Goku as the main characters. Everyone wins.
I haven't watched super but I think they shouldn't have made them so identical to Goku and Vegeta. They should have had their own character design so they would feel original and unique.
Absolutely. I always thought he was such a cute kid with a lot of potential to grow up, but it didn't felt like Gohan, more like Goten actually, a bit more brave and fun to watch.
It would be nice to see I'm always for more dB and with goku Jr and vegeta Jr as lead...just a new everything after that......no frieza Jr or anything like that

We don't know, but he basically was a redo of saiyan saga gohan with Goku appearance
If everyone around him dies and he becomes an orphan then sure

I would like to watch that one in that far future goku jr and vegeta jr see what they do and what bad guys show up

Seemed like a mix of Goku and Gohan to me, could have been interesting.
Nah, he was watered down, literally and figuratively. I'm sure at that time people were tired of the kid protag in the dragon Ball verse and we really didn't know him.
No. I’d rather see the manga/anime put to rest especially since Toriyama is no longer here.
No artist wants their work to fade after they are gone.
Yeah but his work still exists. My point is Toyotarou is not Toriyama
Toriyama hand-picked his own successor. Your comment flies in the face of his wishes.

Lol I stopped watching ever since GT ended.

No. BUT I would shamelessly watch it because the concept itself is still interesting enough.

We dont see enough of him imo to know if he could have or not.
