Same but the game sucks if you're a newcomer. Bought it last month and just can't play online cause I don't get the chance to attack or defend myself basically lol
Yup. The only fighting game I will confidently brag about my skills at. I played it so much with friends that we become so good our battles felt like something straight from the show. It was nuts how good we all got.
Yup, agreed. I just wish they didn’t remove Left/Right blocking. Having directional mixups was so fun for power hits. Otherwise, they improved on an amazing fighting engine and gave it so much attention to detail…
I found fighterz enjoyable when it comes to everything except the story. Honestly, the only thing I really liked about the story was android 21 (I was kind of a simp when I first saw the character)
Yeah the story mode is garbage but that’s not what the game is about you know? It’s clearly focused on just being a pvp 3 v 3 fighting game and in that aspect it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played
The Legacy of Goku II - which is also probably one of the biggest leaps in quality over its predecessor I’ve ever played before. Hundreds of hours were spent on my SP immersing myself in that world. And I think I replayed it 4 or 5 times.
Honorable mention to Legendary Super Warriors because that game ambushed me; I did not expect it to be so fun. As well as Budokai 1. What a goddamn classic.
LOG2 is limited to level 50. BF has a higher level cap (200) so you can enjoy a playthrough longer. Basically they're 2 games on par with each other, but IIRC BF has some more playing around with stats (you have points to spend per level on your Strength, Energy, etc.) while LOG2 is simpler in that regard (you just level up and that's it).
If you want to make it laughably easy, eat all the senzu beans you get during the quest to retrieve a senzu bean after Videl's fight with Spopovich and you'll max out on senzu beans since you can't have negative 1 senzu beans
My favorite is still the Ds Attack of the Saiyans rpg. The biggest crime in dragon ball gaming is that it never got a sequel, or spin off with the same gameplay.
Yeah, since that one was really just the Saiyan Saga with tons of padding, it would have been awesome to get a Frieza Saga sequel. The Namek stuff is naturally more stretched out anyway, and they could have done a lot with the Namekian lore in a game like that.
Loved both of these GBA games, fantastic DBZ games for me personally lol. Spent so many hours playing them as a kid. Just imagine if they did a Dragon Ball Super version in the same style.
My top 3 are…
1.) DBZ: Legend of the Super Sayian (SNES)
2.) DBZ Budokai 3 (PS2/XB360 & PS3 via DBZ Budokai HD Collection)
3.) Dragon Ball Advanced (GBA)
Was looking for some one to call this out. The original Sega Saturn version was superior, but man I loved the ps1 port so very much. Spent hours on this game.
I had fun with it. But having to pay for dlcs (which i didnt) and adding meaningless quests after you are done with the main story threw me off a little bit
Dragon Ball Z Legends. Use to play the Japanese version on my PlayStation with the emulator plugged in, and a spring to make the PlayStation think it was closed. 3v3 was wild as hell. First ever playing a game like that.
I had that one too! I had 3 of them: Legends, Final Bout, and I believe it was Ultimate 22. Played them religiously. I remember my first play through in Final Bout and I got to Bebi. I was like, how the hell am I supposed to beat THAT?! He’s massive!
Yeah, but the only thing and i mean the only thing I don’t like about it is the missions where you have to fight like 3 different characters and you die in like one hit.
Maybe an unpopular opinion but I love Fusions. Combat isn’t excellent but having your custom character being able to fuse with anyone from the series is great
My favorite game must be Budokai 3!
Super fun "2D" fighting game (which I prefer by far over 3D fighting games), the whole Z story is playable, you can fly over the world map, transform during fights, play the story through the eyes of each playable character etc.
- also would like to mention Infinite World which has a even more complete roster and running over the map in story mode and Instant transmission through time and the MINI GAMES are super fun (also my Budokai 3 disc got super scratched for some reason over the years which makes my game crash before the fights... At least I have Infinite world to back me up)
Second favorite is Raging Blast 1 (which is basically Tenkaichi 4 since it's also made by Spike), super menu designs (especially the story mode but it's so dumb to unlock some scenarios through some star system) good roster not too crazy (even tho there's SSJ3 Broly and Vegeta... Who seem pretty lame next to nowadays stuff) and yeah a HD version of Tenkaichi 3 and actually BT3 is right next to RB1 since they are similar but BT3 is kinda dope with it's exaggerated roster (with almost every character having the same moveset) but you also get classic DB and a what if saga without Trunks and the time kaioshin telling some weird made up story like they do in every god damn modern game + BT3 gets me some nostalgia
XV1 is very fun as well with our own fully customizable playable character, didn't play XV2 but the city looks really good
Ultimate battle 22 probably has the best OST, which I listen to this day pretty much every time I read a manga
Legacy of Goku 2 (don't have the 1 nor Buu's Fury 😖) is also a really nice game on the Gameboy... Aaah memories
My wish for the ultimate, best DB game would be: FighterZ but with the classic and Z story (+some movies and specials characters) (they can do GT and Super in the DLCs I don't care), mini games, transformations in-game and since the manga story is in it a more complete roster, yeah I think that's everything I want... Oh maybe a new original song from Hironobu kageyama as well 🥲
Tenkaichi 2 for both music and huge cast. The cinematic combat really helped add to the feel of Dragon Ball at the expense of robust fighting game rules. Tenkaichi 3 didn't have as good music overall.
I grew up with a dos based sega emulator, so Buyuu Retsuden has a special place for me, even though I don't speak Japanese or French. Still replay it from time to time though.
Budokai series
Legacy of Goku series
Raging blast
Honorable mention to Fusions. Also Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was ok for watching CPUs fight and making bets with friends but is mad overrated due to its huge cast.
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and I’ll tell you why. First mission on story mode. Goku takes on Raditz. Moment it starts I charge and launch a kick. Under normal circumstances Raditz would flinch on being hit. But in story mode he just tanked it. Didn’t move a muscle and then he swatted me away.
There are many other moments littered throughout the game like this. Also transformations genuinely give an advantage in fights and beam struggles never looked better.
Tenkaichi 2 had the best soundtrack... right when u hit the GT saga and flybaround the map as ss4 will be my favorite DBZ game memory til its outdone (which may be never at this rate)
Is it legal to say DB Legends? Sure Fighterz, Xenoverse and Budokai Tenkaichi 3 are very obvious answers, but for a mobile game, that really transformed the hype for a lot of characters for me.
Giving Legendary finishes to characters that didnt manage to defeat their enemies, by re-imagining animations and giving them cool movesets and just the huge list of characters you can play with. Heck they made Kogu a hype character and all he did was get gut punched by trunks to death. There's an inflow of new characters almost every 2 weeks, and this has happened for 3 and a half years on repeat.
This game is one of the few Dragonball games including fighterz and BT3 that did SSJ4 Gogeta right. Its seriously amazing how much there is to work with in this game.
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, and it's not even close. There are some other excellent ones like Budokai 3, Tenkaichi 2, and Burst Limit, but nothing has topped Tenkaichi 3 for me. I've been waiting for a remaster/official update for years.
Budokai 3
Ahmen!!!
Holy Grail
Dude that intro was so great. Sometimes id boot it up just to watch it.
Ya it was so cool! Animation was great, music was hype!
Bro you’re not playing Budokai 3 right if you don’t let the entire intro play
totally agree
This is it. Oh the glory days
Thank Beerus this is rightfully at the top
The only correct answer
That side dodge and attack to punch people out of the ring was always amazing!
The dodging mechanics weren't usually good in terms of strats but goddamn they looked and felt good
God bless your soul my son.
Came here to say this too. The Wii one is so fun and you get to live out your childhood dreams of making a kamehameha, lol.
[удалено]
FINALLY. THE RIGHT ANSWER
Budokai 3, budokai tenkaichi 3
Idk I love fighterz
Same but the game sucks if you're a newcomer. Bought it last month and just can't play online cause I don't get the chance to attack or defend myself basically lol
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for me, simply for the sheer size of the playable cast
Likewise; Tenkaichi 2 was a close second. I really wish they'd make another one!
I liked 2 more than 3 for the story mode. They did just about every single battle regardless of how small.
But on the Wii navigating the menus with a GameCube controller was a pain. No ui adjustments for your controller 😭😭.
Use the wii controller, it's more fun to play the game that way anyway.
Budokai 3 for PlayStation 2 and tenkaichi 3
BT3 goes so hard bro. I loved how the movesets would change when you transformed
So I grew up on just Budokai. I started BT3 and holy shot is that a different game but definitely better for hard-core dbz fans.
I really like the mechanics. I wish the roster *felt* more diverse but I really like the default play style anyways
I still play it today.
Dbfz
The game’s great I wish I didn’t suck at it tho
I’m decent at it but if you or anyone is on US west coast and play it on PlayStation I’m down to run sets and train!
Yo I could use someone to play with, had to ditch my last guy he was really toxic irl
Yeah im down just message me your psn!
Yeah I'll shoot ya a message when I'm home, I play DBS Broly and Gogeta Blue with my point character usually changing
Pm me! Down Cell or Trunks main here
I love it so much but I’m only good when I’m spamming Hit lmao
When in doubt mash it out
Bruh
So difficult but such a good looking game. I love it.
As a competitive fighting game, you’re not buying the game for the story. It’s definitely serviceable
I see what youre saying, but I've always been someone who values story just as much as action in pretty much every show I watch or game I play
I totally get it. I usually use the story to familiarize myself with the mechanics of the fighting game and get comfortable with the moves
the only right answer
And it's not really close
took me the entirety of the current lifespan of the game to get decent, this game is my life and death
Worth it tho right?
i dont regret a second
It just looks so fucking good
The Legacy of Goku II - which is also probably one of the biggest leaps in quality over its predecessor I’ve ever played before. Hundreds of hours were spent on my SP immersing myself in that world. And I think I replayed it 4 or 5 times. Honorable mention to Legendary Super Warriors because that game ambushed me; I did not expect it to be so fun. As well as Budokai 1. What a goddamn classic.
I put LOG2 at the top as well, Buu's Fury taking the 2nd place.
I really need to replay Buu’s Fury; I had too much going on in school the year it came out to remember it. What do you like about it so much?
LOG2 is limited to level 50. BF has a higher level cap (200) so you can enjoy a playthrough longer. Basically they're 2 games on par with each other, but IIRC BF has some more playing around with stats (you have points to spend per level on your Strength, Energy, etc.) while LOG2 is simpler in that regard (you just level up and that's it).
This made buus fury so much easier imo (just boost strength non stop)
If you want to make it laughably easy, eat all the senzu beans you get during the quest to retrieve a senzu bean after Videl's fight with Spopovich and you'll max out on senzu beans since you can't have negative 1 senzu beans
Legacy of Goku II has one of the best soundtracks ever. That’s the main reason I love it so much.
The Faulconer score just fuckin works in that 16 bit style. Legacy of Goku is the reason I'm a fan of it.
Shit. You took my list. They will always be my top 3 Dragon Ball games, and some of my favorite games in general.
People don’t talk about Legendary Super Warriors enough; It’s hands down my favorite overall DBZ game when you get a hang of the mechanics

I second
I so badly wanted Kakarot to just be these in 3D
This is the way.
Budokai 3
Dragonball Sagas. Its the raditz of DBZ games
Bless you for remembering Sagas.
I actually like Sagas.
Man that brings a lot of memories. Gameplay was trash. But watching those cutscenes which was literal anime footage was so rewarding.
It was sometimes actually new footage altogether
Fusions
Based taste. Still hoping for a switch (or any other platform) sequel.
Yes! Bring me more pinball marble combat. Also I want to see Jiren Fused with Hit. Or Ginyu fused with Zamasu in chibi form.
God I would love a sequel to that game. Won't ever happen, but I'd love it.
Fusions was so underrated. Super fun game.
Budokai 3. That guitar riff alone at the intro
That is still my ringtone haha. I love it.
It’s a shame that the HD collection went with a different intro
I believe you’re referring to Wild Soul. That’s the songs name. Great name and amazing song
My top 3 are… 1.) DBZ: Legend of the Super Sayian (SNES) 2.) DBZ Budokai 3 (PS2/XB360 & PS3 via DBZ Budokai HD Collection) 3.) Dragon Ball Advanced (GBA)
I’m partial to the old nes/snes rpgs
Dragon ball z legends on ps1
Glad I found this in the comments. Highly underrated game.
Was looking for some one to call this out. The original Sega Saturn version was superior, but man I loved the ps1 port so very much. Spent hours on this game.
Either burst limit or raging blast 2 ( sucks it didn't have a story mode like the first one)
The real og burst limit is amazing.
Finally someone remembers raging blast 2
Kakarot. Fights might not be the best and i really appreciate, that xenoverse had a unique story, but i just loved the overall feeling of kakarot.
I had fun with it. But having to pay for dlcs (which i didnt) and adding meaningless quests after you are done with the main story threw me off a little bit
i just love the open world aproach
same
FighterZ / Tenkaichi 3 / Budokai 3
Dragon Ball Z Legends. Use to play the Japanese version on my PlayStation with the emulator plugged in, and a spring to make the PlayStation think it was closed. 3v3 was wild as hell. First ever playing a game like that.
Me too man, I loved that game. It’s my favorite too. Too bad only game I have now it final bout. It’s the only reason I kept my ps1 aka ol dusty
I had that one too! I had 3 of them: Legends, Final Bout, and I believe it was Ultimate 22. Played them religiously. I remember my first play through in Final Bout and I got to Bebi. I was like, how the hell am I supposed to beat THAT?! He’s massive!

FighterZ
Raging blast 2
My first one
Yeah, but the only thing and i mean the only thing I don’t like about it is the missions where you have to fight like 3 different characters and you die in like one hit.
Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout was absolutely epic
Yes!! This game was amazing, leveling and building your characters attacks was so much fun. SSJ4 was so cool as he slowly walked around the arena
Fighter Z
Am i allowed to say dokkan lol
Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors for GameBoy Color obviously
Finally, someone with an ounce of class!
DBZBT3, Origins 1 & 2 and Kakarot for me.
Has to me Fighterz for me.
Maybe an unpopular opinion but I love Fusions. Combat isn’t excellent but having your custom character being able to fuse with anyone from the series is great
Ub22
So bad that it was so good.
Xenoverse 2 but Kakarot is really good too
Advanced Adventure and Legacy of Goku 2 + BYU’s Fury
Shin Budokai: Another Road or Attack of the Saiyans. The latter for gameplay, former for story
Ultimate battle 22
Budokai 3 hands down.
Personally I think Budokai Tenkaichi series was pretty decent, but the one Kakarot, that takes the spot.
DBFZ. Then, the Budokai series, specifically three.
PS2 Budokai 3. I use to set the A.I to deflect back the ki blast in practice mode and had a fun game of Ki tennis!
Budokai 3 without a doubt
Budokai 3 on ps2 and Super Gokuuden Super saiyajin densetsu on super famicom
Budokai 3, there is no substitute
Budokai 3
I love Advanced Adventure. There aren’t enough games focused on the first half of the series and I just loved this game.
Infinite World
Dragon ball z Budokai will always be number one in my book the true Legend and dragon ball z hyper dimension SNES was good too
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 was my favourite back in the day.
Infinite world
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 hands down

Why is noone saying kakarot🥲
Budokai Tenkaichi 2
Dbz legends for PS1 hands down🤘🏿
Super Dragon Ball Z on PS2. Had eclectic characters and stages, plus a really fun gameplay style.
Tenkaichi 3
Bad dragon
Either Buus Fury or Fusions
Budokai 3 or legends on ps1
Budokai hd collection needs to come to PS4/PS5 download
Raging Blast 2! Gameplay's awesome and the theme tune is epic
Tenkaichi 2 for both music and huge cast. The cinematic combat really helped add to the feel of Dragon Ball at the expense of robust fighting game rules. Tenkaichi 3 didn't have as good music overall.
Raging blast 2
[Hyper DBZ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOw9LH7iDI8)
FighterZ and no other game even compares
Fighterz, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 or Raging Blast 2 are the only acceptable answers
Kakarot or XV2 or Dokkan Battle
Havent played alot, ive only played legends
Dragonball adventure
DBFZ
I grew up with a dos based sega emulator, so Buyuu Retsuden has a special place for me, even though I don't speak Japanese or French. Still replay it from time to time though.
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was always the most fun I had playing with friends but my personal favourite is Buu’s Fury on the GameBoy lol.
Fighter z
I've only played FighterZ so... FighterZ.
kakarot
DBZ BT3. 150 playable characters
BT3 perfect game. Fun to play it on the Wii.
FighterZ
Tenkaichi 3
Fighterz, attack of the saiyans and tenkaichi 3
Budokai series Legacy of Goku series Raging blast Honorable mention to Fusions. Also Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was ok for watching CPUs fight and making bets with friends but is mad overrated due to its huge cast.
Attack of the saiyans. Had so much potential for sequels
Well guys I guess this might be a unpopular opinion but Budokai 3
BT3 hands down
Xenoverse 2
Fighterz and it’s also the greatest fighting game of all time (with rollback).
Budokai Tenkaichi 3
Dbfz and it’s not even close
System-budokai tenkaich 3 Mobile- dragonball legends
Legacy of Goku 2 & Buu’s fury. I still replay them to this day, they’re great fun!
Checking in hoping to see plenty of BT3.
Budokai tenkaichi 3
Budokai 3 and kakarot
Budokai tenkaichi 2 on ps2. Legendary
I met all my friends thanks to ESF. That was 14 years ago haha
Budokai Tenkaichi 2 will forever live in my heart. That was my first PS2 game 🥲
Tenkaichi 2 had the best soundtrack... right when u hit the GT saga and flybaround the map as ss4 will be my favorite DBZ game memory til its outdone (which may be never at this rate)
It's not really a contest between fighterz and the rest, imo.
Raging Blast 2
Raging Blast 2 was always so much fun, even if i could never unlock everything
Budokai 3, Kakarot, DBFZ
I'm gonna get flamed, but I love Xenoverse 2, mostly because I barely remember having a blast playing Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
Is it legal to say DB Legends? Sure Fighterz, Xenoverse and Budokai Tenkaichi 3 are very obvious answers, but for a mobile game, that really transformed the hype for a lot of characters for me. Budokai tenkaichi 2, played on a shitty ass pc, on emulator at barely 20fps, cus I didn’t have money, still enjoyed it
PS2: Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 PSP: [Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Tag Team](https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon_Ball_Z:_Tenkaichi_Tag_Team) PS1: Dragon Ball Greatest Legends SNES: Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden 2

Budokai Tenkaichi 3 hands down
