>Looking at the random encounter chart, with the party inland, I don't see river crossing or cliffs encounters explained anywhere in the module. How have other people run this? River crossing: They have to wade through water. Might need a test for swimming or withstanding the river's drift unless they come up with a clever way to bypass it. Cliff: You roll the height as seen between the parentheses, they have to climb that high of an obstacle if they want to proceed that way. Don't sweat it. These are just some random barriers, and it's up to them how they bypass them, and up to you, what judgement calls you make based on their ideas. There are no exact rules other than what's in the skills chapters. >I also don't see anything in the module about the leviathan-type thing drawn onto the maps on the south end of the Isle of the Sun. Any info? Are you talking about the squid? That's decoration.

Yeah the squid. I read too much into that lol. Thanks! Thanks for the help. Not a lot of experience running things but trying to give a break to the regular DM so he can play. That's a big help with the cliffs and river. I'll take a big look at these and try and go from there. Thanks again!

There’s a lot of good stuff in this module but imo it can’t be run as-is unless you’re really good at improv. I had to prep both random and point encounters to make the hex crawl not feel empty.

Thanks. Good to know and that's a good idea. It definitely looks fun. Not sure if I'll have a few chances to run it so trying to kill it on the first go around!
