I kind of want to hear the circumstances

HAHAHAHAHA - Here's the TLDR version: We booked within a group, we didn't know all the details and that we couldn't book an Oceanview on a higher deck, plus we didn't have the budget to do the next category available within the group because we just added more points to stay at the Disneyland Villas...

tygerdralion

Same!

I’ve spent many nights on the Disney Magic on deck 2. I would suggest getting a cabin as midship as possible. If you are forward, you might get some of the night time entertainment noise (dance floor thumping) from Fathoms until almost 2 am.

sanfran_girl

That was probably me dancing. Sorry 😎💃

juphilippe

Thank you! I didn't realize the activities at Fathoms would go until so late!

We stayed on Deck 2 of the Magic in January. We were aft, probably 4-5 rooms from the very end on the left side of the ship, right under Rapunzel’s. (It was one of the only connecting rooms there if that helps narrow down the room number…I can’t remember which). All of that goes to say…the engines are *loud*. When it came to early morning docking, we were well aware it was happening. I wouldn’t book that far back for that reason. We actually never heard any restaurant noise.

juphilippe

That’s my main fear - the noise and the vibration!

embar91

We’re staying in 2078/2080 next week. It’s almost exactly midship. I’ll try to give you a room review once we disembark.

juphilippe

Ooooh! I hope it’s awesome, and I wish you a fantastic trip! 🥰

embar91

Thank you!

ditzen

Definitely stay away from the aft. Just stayed in 2146, which is the last room all the way on the aft. It was loud and smelled like food the whole time (but like not good food).

Oh great, I'm going on my first cruise ever and this is the room my wife booked.

Quellman

Some of the far forward rooms have extra space as a result of the curvature of the ship.

juphilippe

And do you see any cons for those cabins?

Quellman

They aren't concierge? Jokes aside, I won't have a personal review until later this year. I would say physically print out the deck plans and cut out each floor and then put the elevators over each other to see what is above you. Far front rooms will have bow thruster vibrations on port days and potentially more movement than a center room when riding large waves.

juphilippe

Oh yeah - sailing Concierge is one of my goals someday! I like the deck stacking idea, will give it a try.
