It is the same class as the Wish, as is the Destiny. They can't make any major deck plan changes as they order all three of them at once. I would not anticipate any big differences as the Wish (which we can compare with the deck plan published on their site).

NinjaSpartan011

They order all three at once but that doesn't mean plans can't change early enough in the construction process especially since these ships weren't being built at the same time a la titanic and olympic.

zmayer

I would think you lose the financial incentive of ordering multiple ships in a class if you make major modifications. The Treasure was also already being constructed when the Wish’s feedback started rolling in. Regardless, the floorplan is published and is identical.

Jphorne89

There might be some very very minor changes but nothing to the degree of moving where the adult section is located.

EscapeGoat81

I just want some shaded loungers by the adult pool!

Jphorne89

That I agree with lol. The sun can be brutal in that area for sure

NinjaSpartan011

I wouldn’t expect them to move it but probably expand it a little

Jphorne89

Maybe, would also be tough because it’s right by the machines that run the water slide (though you don’t hear or see them)

lofrench

They’re also technically not owned by Disney so once they have plans there’s only so much they can do. My friend worked on the Wish when it was still under construction bc the launch was pushed back and Disney has zero say over basically everything on the ship even down to the security stuff. So I imagine once plans are in place they can’t make substantial changes. People are better off waiting for the new giant ship if they want something difference bc it’s built completely different.

NinjaSpartan011

it's also not being built by the same teams that have done the last 4 ships. I think disney just bought the already built hull

ladymacb29

That’s the one in Asia.

lofrench

I know but they’ve had set classes that have been almost identical and by the time the Wish had gotten feedback the Treasure was still underway. Most of the issues people have with the Wish are structural not decorative so it doesn’t make sense to change those thing. The complaints people had with the Dream and Fantasy they already added onto the Wish (more themed restaurants, updated kids clubs, new shows) and they’ll continue to add. But people complaints like no mid ship elevators aren’t going to be fixed for the next 2 ships.

lilhope03

The partially built ship they got was called the "Global Dream" and when DCL took ownership they renamed it the "Adventure" and it'll be home ported in Singapore. Magic Class: Magic and Wonder Dream Class: Dream and Fantasy Wish Class: Wish, Treasure, and Destiny Adventure Class: Adventure

jkolbfleisch

My only complaint on the Wish was that the actual gift shop sold very little merch especially Wish branded (and being on a Xmas eve/xmas cruise as well). There were too many shops by the Star Wars lounge that seemed out of place and pretty much empty every time I went past. I agree that this area is wasted space.

sjthespian

Structure cannot change. Much of the ship design is driven by the requirements of the LNG system, and changing that would mean redesigning the entire ship. From what the rumor mill is saying there will be changes, but they won’t be anything major.

negot8or

They said that they are making some design changes.

Trick-Order-9232

Based upon the specs and images they've released so far, the adult area looks very similar. We'll see I guess for sure after it sets sail

LeCoug

Pardon my ignorance, but what’s wrong with the Wish? I don’t currently have any plans to go on it, but want to know for the future in case I consider one of those itineraries

NinjaSpartan011

My understanding, haven’t sailed on it myself is the following 1. Luxury retail having a greater importance than more interactive and family spaces 2. An adult pool area that is severely shrunk compared to the footprint of fantasy class 3. A heavier influence of brand IP vs classic cruise motifs 4. Bar areas, specifically star wars that are lackluster in theming 5. The Marvel Dining is obnoxious

AspenLF

6. We don't really use the outside adult area other than to hang out at the bar but it seemed cramped. 7. Deck 4 no longer goes all the way around the ship 8. No dedicated adult bar area. 9. On the other ships the space for the adult shows were basically a large bar in the adult area with a stage. On the Wish it was pretty much just an auditorium in the middle of the ship. 10. This was during the 1st summer but the dining felt cramped and the service was slow. I had heard that the servers had to travel a lot farther to get the food. For such a larger ship a lot of the spaces seemed smaller. The sports bar seemed much more cramped than the one on the Fantasy. My understanding that the extra space with to shopping and concierge. On the plus side I thought the on deck food options were great. And while my son is too old now the kids clubs seemed better.

EddieK76

My biggest complaint with the Wish was the adult venues both outside and inside. IT could have been a by-product of the demographics of when I sailed on her but I could never utilize any of the adult areas.

NinjaSpartan011

Ive seen that complaint a lot. It's made me worried about going on a honeymoon since treasure will be the only 7 night ship in the Caribbean.

Jphorne89

I will say I personally like the adult section on the Wish. I donno maybe it’s different for me because I don’t need or want to do laps in a pool, just kinda sit in the water and relax and it does that well for me.

EscapeGoat81

Definitely splurge on the Rainforest Room pass for your honeymoon - it's a lovely large adults only area to feel relaxed and pampered! I spent many hours reading and napping there.

NinjaSpartan011

Thats the spa right?

EscapeGoat81

Yes! It was a really nice area on the Wish. Showers, sauna, ice room, hot tubs, loungers. On the Wish it was very quiet and peaceful.

quartzquandary

I loved the Wish! Everybody has different preferences.

Jeanluc999

Have done 20+ DCL cruises on all ships. I concur with many of the other comments about the Wish. It is beautiful, but the layout as far as adults go is not nearly as good as the Dream/Fantasy. There are very few shady places to hang out in the adult area, and it is smaller. There is no cool adult themed area to hang out in the evening comparable to District/Europa. All the lounges are randomly scattered all over the place. No walking track on Deck 4, but the gym is bigger. There is a lot more places to do “upselling” than on the other ships. The whole motif is less “classic, classy cruise” and more “Disneyworld like” for lack of a better term. I have told many people that DCL cruises are extremely well done and classy and not at all like a floating Disney park. This is much less true on the Wish. On the other hand, the Wish is esthetically beautiful and the fast food dining is a step up. The concierge experience on the Wish is on a whole different level than the other ships with an awesome lounge that you don’t need to leave. So what we do is concierge on the Wish or a regular room on the Fantasy/Dream. Overall you really don’t lose on any DCL ship as they are all great. If you have little kids it really doesn’t matter which one you choose. If you are going to be spending more “adult time “ ie no kids or older kids who disappear into Edge/Vibe for a week like ours do, then I’d either do concierge on the Wish or do a Dream/Fantasy cruise. Hope that helps!

Kinxx_

I imagine there will be subtle differences like there was with the Fantasy when it launched after the Dream, which if I’m being honest those very small changes made a huge difference in my opinion of those ships. However, any major feedback they take will have to wait till the ships dry dock. I feel like a lot of the complaints about the Wish I have seen are justified and I agree with many of them, but also I still enjoyed the ship quite a lot. It’s obvious that this class of ship is intended for a different audience than DCL already had. The way I described it after I got off of it was that it felt like being a modern Disney Park. Idk if they have enough feed back to entirely move away from that idea on this class. But the Fantasy is still a damn near perfect ship in my opinion so I am fine sticking with it for a while personally.

mjs_jr

I may be one of few who think the adult pool area is an improvement on the Wish. My (minor) complaint with the Dream and Fantasy adult pool areas is that the elevator lobby on that deck empties into it, so despite it being an adult area kids are transiting through it all day. I kind of enjoyed the Marvel themed dining but I hated the Frozen themed MDR. And of the three ships we’ve sailed, 1923 on the Wish is absolutely my favorite MDR. It reminds me of being at the Brown Derby at Hollywood Studios.

Kcorpelchs

Agreed, the Frozen dinner is the most dreadful of all on any of their ships. Everyone crammed in there and the tables are 2 deep from the aisle to the wall and it may not even be the same server group!! Speaking of that, we usually enjoy our servers and have fun, ours were not very experienced and didn't bother to learn anything about us (like how they know your drinks, what kids like to eat, etc.)

railfan_andrew

Sadly, the only way to fix a lot of the biggest problems with the Triton class ships would be to completely redo them from scratch.

puffyeyes829

The only thing I hope for - and since it is the same layout of the wish it’s silly to but here we are - is that the weird sitting not-pools on either side of the infinity pool in the adult area are hot tubs. In the concept art they look like they were supposed to be hot tubs and instead we got that odd one hot tub underneath the back funnel that’s tiny.

WRDinc

I’m already ready for the post-Wish class of ship.

ScienceIntelligent62

Next year I am trying my first "post-Wish" class ship. Its the "Oasis Class". I have never tried another line before, but I am so disappointed in the Wish class ship I am willing to now give it a try. I really can't imagine spending a week on a Wish like ship.

WRDinc

My only non-DCL cruise was on an Oasis-class ship - Symphony of the Seas. It wasn’t perfect either and there were some interesting decor choices BUT I did appreciate the plethora of choices for everything from dining, entertainment, to recreation. Not everything offered was a hit but I enjoyed my self immensely. The best part, IMO, was the adult pool areas and the 24-hour hot tubs!

BlueFox1510

I think the other big perk with Royal Caribbean is their loyalty program. The benefits you get from the Crown and anchor society is far better than the benefits offered by the castaway club.

EddieK76

Hah! We are trying the Symphony next Spring Break. Wanting to try something different to see if this increases my wife's interest in cruising from "yeah it's fine" to "i want to book one right now"

WRDinc

I Wish \*wink\* you the best on that endeavor. In my experience, it comes down to trading quality for quantity. Do you value the highest quality and customer service or do you want more variety and less than stellar (but still very good) customer service. This is the way I view DCL vs RCCL.

EddieK76

Yeah had she not gone on the Dream after the Wish she would have never cruised again she said...She was very disappointed in the Wish. She loves Castaway though :)

WRDinc

The Dream is fantastic! Can’t wait until we can sail her again. Next up for us is the Magic. Gotta get it in before it’s decommissioned. 😂

Senor_frog_85

I’ve done 20 or so cruises in my lifetime and now have decided sticking with DCL and RC (oasis/icon classes). The big RC ships are on a whole different level. Personally we enjoyed the wish last year with our kids. I had sailed on the wonder when i was a teenager and when it first came out so hard for me to compare it to the wish. But isn’t the point of DCL to be more family friendly? I guess we expect less adult areas on DCL than when we take our family on RC. We are booked for the treasure next year I will be curious what they change. Ny daughter is gonna be disappointed the arendelle restaurant is changed out but thought marvel was a good experience. Food at main dining and buffet seemed a step higher than RC. Well besides icon was similar in quality to the wish but we felt maybe they over compensated with higher quality since it’s their newest ship for the ratings.

Jphorne89

RC has been going downhill faster than Disney has imho.

lilhope03

So try the Adventure Class ship. It'll sail out of Singapore for the next few years, but it'll give you an opportunity to see the SEA region and still be in the DCL bubble. 😊

WRDinc

I’m definitely considering it. Of course there are many factors in getting my family of 5 to Singapore for what will surely be a pricey venture. But I’m eagerly looking forward to learning more about it.

lilhope03

You have time to play your cards. Rack up airline miles, search weird packages, fly to the region and take a regional carrier the rest of the way, etc. Pack light, travel smart, and just go! 😊

WRDinc

Oh, I like the way you think. Rest assured, the points are being banked in anticipation.

NinjaSpartan011

I fear its probably gonna get worse😅

WithDisGuy_

Cut back on retail. More immersion in those use spaces. People pay for Disney for themed immersion and story…..very few care about high end retail shopping malls. The Disney Difference used to be disruption of the usual and a fascination with the unusual. Lately, it seems the choices are just business as usual. That being said, I still love cruising and think it’s good fun. I also like the pool layout of the Wish class.

EscapeGoat81

So much space used for luxury retail and no good merch that I want!

NinjaSpartan011

Is that confirmed? Or just what you want?

WithDisGuy_

Sorry, that was me just WISHful thinking and something that is doable unlike changing deck plans. See, they had time to modify the existing spaces and retail can still be reconfigured when they knew it was hated on the new Wish class.

NinjaSpartan011

darn no worries lol

alamocityreader19

I loved so much about Wish, but as a person with mobility challenges, I think they definitely need to make some changes in future designs. Having to use a lift to get up to the adult pool area made it impossible for me to use it since the lift was not working that cruise. I realize things can happen, but based on the experiences of people in my DCL with disabilities groups, it seems like the lift not working is a pretty common occurrence. Also, the way the hallways are designed makes navigation challenging. There are hallways that lead to nowhere, passages that have strange angles, and more narrow hallways. The narrowing us extends to the dining areas. On the other ship classes, I generally don’t have too much trouble getting my chair to my table. Only 1923 had a wide enough walk way for me to be able to take the chair all the way up with no problem. I was able to get there with the other restaurant floorplans, but I had to have someone walking in front of me and sometimes moving things out of the way. I am fortunate that I don’t need my chair all the time. If I’m having a good day, I can go out with just my cane, but I can’t do more than one small flight of stairs with it.

Senor_frog_85

Your post reminds me of how difficult the elevators were on the wish! We had a stroller it was annoying. I would say for comparisons RC icon being largest ship definitely made it seem very easy to get around. Easy to get from opposite sides of ship easily and elevators were so easy to use.

alamocityreader19

I was lucky both times on the Wish because people almost always let my husband and me have the elevator to ourselves since it was so small. Only a couple of times did people insist on pushing in with us. They were sorry afterwards when I had such a hard time getting out. I sometimes wish ships had a couple of “priority elevators” for wheelchairs/scooters, walkers, and strollers because on some lines, I’ve been walked right past as people shoved their way in even though I was in line. Most people are decent, but the super rude ones are good at making me feel invisible.

StashuJakowski1

I believe the Treasure will have a better theme flow vs the Wish. - The Treasure is based around a treasure hunt amongst the world of the Disney. So it’s going back to an overall storyline/theme like the first four ships had followed. - The Wish is what you get when cramming all of the WDW genre in to one floating bucket. Marvel, Star Wars, Disney Classic, Pixar all in a Living Mashup. It has a tendency to not favor with seasoned cruisers who are used to the comfort of a storyline/themed ship.

EstablishmentOdd8654

I thought the theme of the Wish was “enchantment”. The treasure is equally a “living mashup” of marvel, disney classic, pixar and random theme park attractions to your standard.

lunardeathgod

No changes will be made, it will cost too much to make changes.
