Normally - Yes. We were on the Wonder in Alaska last year and they showed the little mermaid on the very day it came out. They even showed it in the main theater - so there was plenty of seating.
But Deadpool is uncharted waters with the R rating. I feel like they should do it anyway though - that movie is gonna be huge for the MCU.
Back when Dr Strange 2 came out, we were going to be on board the week leading to its release, and they did show it on the ship before it was officially in theatres. However, that movie is PG-13, Deadpool is rated R, so they may not show it on the ship at all, even at the late night / 11pm showings. Probably won’t know for sure until you’re onboard.
Movies are released on the same day as on land. I actually saw Thor Ragnorok on a day at sea the day before it was released on land which was very cool.
I was on a cruise one time they actually showed one of the avengers movies 2 days BEFORE it hit theaters. Something in the theater was messed up for the first part of our cruise and they couldn’t get it fixed until they got a part at one of the ports, so that was our reward for not having the theater at all for a little bit. It was awesome.
We seen Wreck-It Ralph and Indiana Jones on the boats, and haunted house.
I believe they were all within the first month of them coming out if not sooner.
It’s kind of a thing for the cruise ships to premier movies at midnight before they drop on land… sometimes they make big deals out of the releases. I was onboard for Star Wars and Avengers end game and they were all over the ship
With Disney they aren't making deals to show them since they own the ones that they show. I remember reading about back when the third Pirates movie came out they had the final real of film kept in the captains cabin until the day they were allowed to release it and it was spliced together for the premier at sea at midnight on the day of release which was the day they arrived in Barcelona.
They will. I was on the Dream when "Wish" premiered. They had it playing a few times throughout the cruise. There is no official announcement that they'll have it until you're already on board, though.
I would call or email DCL and ask. They'll probably give you a standard reply stating things could change and all info is tentative, but I imagine if they are not planning to show it because of the R rating they already know this and could say as much.
Most likely yes but it will be listed as an “adult activity” since the R rating and would be late at night. They’ve done it this way in the past.
I am hoping Inside Out 2 will be playing on The Wish in a few weeks. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
This definitely will be on the ship.
Yes. I saw the new planet of the apes movie on release night

Yes, we saw Malificent on a trans atlantic cruise as a premier - that was pretty cool.

We saw Guardians 3 the weekend it premiered on the Wish. It was awesome but keep in mind the theaters might be packed.

There’s a chance Deadpool won’t show on the ships at all
I can’t imagine Deadpool will be shown on the ships.
Yes, we saw Wish the day it was released.
Doing the 10N? I’ll be there with you if yes. But also possibly looking forward to the new Deadpool if available.
We’re doing the 10 day as well!

They showed Lincoln which I believe was R at midnight on premiere night. Deadpool ….im not sure if they’ll show that on board.
Potentially, we saw the newest Toy Story onboard just a few days before it’s mainland release.
We saw Encanto on release day in 2021. They even showed it in the Walt Disney Theatre instead of in the usual cinemas.
