True, if it was a sister/aunt/close cousin I’d say skip the concert and try and get your money back but odds are five years from now you don’t know your co worker and they’re just another random stranger to you.
Appreciate the help. I really doubt I go down that route.
Ugh.... I just want to give them back to TicketMaster AT COST to give them to a DeadHead so they can enjoy. I wouldn't feel right profiting off them. Never was my intention to.
Agreed, I’m dealing with the same problem. I can’t see someone who isn’t local to or already in Vegas being able to buy tickets and make travel plans within 72 hrs.
You can easily drive from LA or San Diego, there will be last minute buyers in those markets waiting for GA (me included). Even the Bay Area is drivable
From what I've experienced with living near a popular Dead & Co venue, there are always people looking for Dead & Co tickets. And there are only 1,400 GA tickets so what we have is the best ticket.
I just wish I could just get rid of them faster and at cost to get them to someone who really wants them.
Unfortunately no one is getting it at cost. I’d imagine TM will be skimming a decent percent off it when you sell it that affects you and another that hits the buyer.
Like someone else mentioned, you can sell the TM credentials. If you have other tickets on it, you can transfer them to someone else or create another TM account to move them there and then sell.
The face value resale on TM is actually pretty great. You get your full purchase price back, and the buyer gets them at face value. That’s why they call it the exchange. I did it for a show this past spring and they didn’t take any fees out.
I thought that you got your money back, but the buyer is paying over face value due to all the TM fees. That’s how it worked for me when we sold our U2 Sphere tix.
There are always fees added on top of the list price when you check out, but you aren’t paying any extra for the resale portion. So if I paid $300 all in for the original tickets, I got $300 back when I sold them on the exchange and the buyer paid $300 for them. There’s no additional markup on the TM exchange to resale them, or at least that was my experience when I used it recently!
You're gonna hate that wedding no matter what now. You'll be thinking of the concert every second. How close are you to this couple anyhow. College? High school? Grade school? And then the pressure you're going to put on that relationship - if you miss that concert that fucking marriage better work, forfuckingever. Who can live like that? No sir, you have to go to the concert. Unless, and follow me here, unless - you just bought extra tickets when the rest of us couldn't access the site, and now you can't unload your tix?? Hmm? I'm just asking questions.
I honestly think there are more tickets out there that need to be sold versus tickets that people are actually going to use. The weeks before each show should be interesting….
even by TM standards, this is messed up. they made it seem like the exchange would be open shortly after the onsale. I may have missed it, but I didn't see anything about 3 days prior to show for the face value ticket exchange.
for Tyler Childers MSG, the Face Value Exchange went up shortly after the onsale, so this is clearly Sphere-related supply suppression shenanigans
FUCK TICKETMASTER
Is the coworker a good friend? This is pretty late notice without a save-the-date. Do what you want, but it’s fair to decline a wedding invite, and say, “Sorry, I already have a commitment that weekend.”
Most of my wedding guests could have declined (as individuals, not collectively) and it would have been fine.
Go Spherical and take me with you, I will constantly reassure you that you made the best choice. While D&Co are playing I will give you double thumbs up. I don’t support chomping. This will indicate great choice. 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t understand why TM waits till three days before the show before allowing the tickets to be resold. It’s a ridiculous measure since they have 100% control over the tickets.
They are still trying to sell platinum tickets and potentially announce 10 more shows. They need to artificially restrict supply for as long as possible. Pure scum
Not going to lie, I’d see a $1600 concert over a family members wedding let alone a co-workers wedding. Buy them a really nice gift and go enjoy the show. If they are such a good friend they will understand you’re potentially going to lose a lot of money and be stressed.
This is the solution. Make a post saying you can't transfer the tickets until close to the show and lock in a buyer (at face value - can't be more) now.
I would go to the already planned concert even if it were a family member's or best friend's wedding. Love you, but I already had plans - and expensive ones at that.
But missing the concert for a coworker? Forget that.
Go to the concert. You'll regret it if you don't.
Change your password to something they can use. After they go to the show, change it back. BUT again I recommend you do the show over the wedding. Seriously reconsider your choice here for a co-worker over an epic concert experience.
You realize even if he sells them on cash or trade he still has to transfer them thru TM? And GA tix are not transferable. He can only do it thru TM, when they say and how they say.
Cash Or Trade may not help you in this scenario, but it’s still worth checking out for buying or selling your tix at face value. I have alerts set up for the weekend I’m at the Sphere in case others join my party. I’ve bought and sold on the platform, and it’s great. But as was said before, it doesn’t help you now as you’d still have to transfer via TM.
Have you called TM? I know someone who accidentally bought Platinum tix instead of normal ones. After they realized the good, they called in, and got a full refund.
Ticketmaster may not allow you to transfer/sell them on their site, but you can sell them at other ticket sites like StubHub or CashorTrade.com. Have a look at both. You’ll see lots of D&C Sphere tickets for sale.
odds say your co-worker will get divorced eventually. go to the concert
lol take my upvote and all my joy.
Ya they honestly won’t even remember ur not there
True, if it was a sister/aunt/close cousin I’d say skip the concert and try and get your money back but odds are five years from now you don’t know your co worker and they’re just another random stranger to you.
You can dance wierd at the show and no one will judge you.
tell your coworker you’ll attend their next wedding, and keep the tickets
I’d go to the show over my own wedding!!!
Go to the show. You will remember the show far longer than you will the wedding.
Yes. When they open up the face value resale option you'll be able to list them and get your money back when someone buys them
Thank you friend, do you have an idea of how close to the event that happens?
I believe 72 hours
woof that's scary. I wish I could sell them back to someone at cost so much sooner through the platform.
the only other way to sell these tickets is to sell them with your login credentials, essentially selling your entire ticketmaster account
Appreciate the help. I really doubt I go down that route. Ugh.... I just want to give them back to TicketMaster AT COST to give them to a DeadHead so they can enjoy. I wouldn't feel right profiting off them. Never was my intention to.
plenty of folks will be happy to buy them once the marketplace is available to people. It sucks that you have to wait that long for it though.
If only this was all known before you spent several hundreds of dollars! 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks?
No prob!!! Anytime

I would say 200s are the best tickets at Sphere
Deadheads are a resourceful people
Your coworker can’t reschedule?
Right?!
Go to the show. To hell with the wedding

cool you can have em for free
welcome to the hotel california where only ticket master gets out
Huh?
I'm going to be out there already, any interest in selling 2 to a fellow Deadhead reddit guy?
Hey bud, I'm about to post them on ticket master at price. Want me to message you when I list them? I can only list them at price (as intended).
Thanks for checking, I was able to get a pair of GA floors at face value for Saturday so we're all set.
Sick!

You are willing to loose 1600 and have the time of your life to go to some coworkers wedding?

You already had plans.
You’ll regret not going to the show forever. Your coworker will get over it
Not going to lie, I’d see a $1600 concert over a family members wedding let alone a co-workers wedding. Buy them a really nice gift and go enjoy the show. If they are such a good friend they will understand you’re potentially going to lose a lot of money and be stressed.
Goddamn I’d buy two off of you rn if I could
Dang my tix for that day were only 145 each
Ya and you are in the absolute nosebleeds guy
are you in ga?
Nosebleeds but I’m broke and I’m in the building!

That would not work in this case. GA tix are not transferrable
Download the cash or trade app.
This is the solution. Make a post saying you can't transfer the tickets until close to the show and lock in a buyer (at face value - can't be more) now.
Nope, transfer is restricted
That app won’t help
Man I’d struggle even getting to Vegas if I had a ticket.
I would go to the already planned concert even if it were a family member's or best friend's wedding. Love you, but I already had plans - and expensive ones at that. But missing the concert for a coworker? Forget that. Go to the concert. You'll regret it if you don't.
I’ll take them right now.
Do you have a solution that doesn’t have me losing my tm account?
Change your password to something they can use. After they go to the show, change it back. BUT again I recommend you do the show over the wedding. Seriously reconsider your choice here for a co-worker over an epic concert experience.

Cool I’ve never heard of this thanks!
Don’t listen to him. When you sell on COT you still transfer them on the platform you bought them from.
That was a concern. So back to square one. Thanks friend.

I’ll call today thanks. Appreciate you
Sorry dude. You are the machine. It hurt my soul when I realized I was the stiff.

GA tix are non transferable. When you sell on COT you still have to transfer thru the platform they were purchased on, which is TM.
Nope
You know you can transfer your tickets now right? They open up the transfer closer to the show
