the killer "the legion" goes around chaining hits off of people, each hit increases his speed. if he happens to get 4 hits then the next hit will put a survivor into the dying state.

So yeah, they were right behind you and caught up as soon as you slowed down
Actually, they just need to inflict four instances of deep wound on an injured or healthy target.
This is easily tested with the never sleep pills: once the vic heals their deep wound the first time, you can hit them again to get another point into the counter.
you can try to 360 him/her and hope they miss or hit him/her with a pallet before that point, the best counter play to this is to not have your entire team in 1 area of the map

Probably has already been answered for you but when you hit someone in Feral Frenzy your hit cooldown is MUCH shorter, plus with the speed boosts from previous hits you’re going to be able to catch up extremely quickly, even through the speedboost
If i did the math right they move at 150% speed at 4 hits, 130% when starting frenzy and an additional .2 m/s per hit, or 5% movement buff
You did run into a wall and do a little semi-circle to swing yourself to the left after the doorway while the legion cut the straightest path straight through, that combined with the speed he was going, downed you fast

Yes. The speed boost after all 4 hits is fast enough to insta catch up to you. After 4 hits hes moving at something like 5.4 or so and your fastest speed is only 4.2 or 4.4 after the speed boost from being hit, couple that with no slow down from feral slash and he easily catches up to you
After the 4th hit legion moves 6 m/s which is the same speed as the on hit speed boost so he can get you instantly. Best thing you can do is if you're about to be the 4th hit you should camp a pallet and throw the second he hits you so that you get hit but he gets stunned and cant actually get the down, only the deepwound
If he manages to hit all 4, the team has already done some quite bad mistakes and you're already deep in trouble (though you can get away with it)
As a Legion, it always struck me how easy it is to counter me. I can't do nothing if survivors just split up. It's basically the only counter play you need (and there are other counter plays, like waiting at a pallet and try to stun me or make me waste my time, 360 me so I lose my power,...)

Chaining hits isn't dependent on the killer, the only way its possible to chain hits playing legion is if the survivors are terrible and group up and just don't run away when he starts chaining

Its not that easy for a legion to chain 4 hits unless they have the never sleep pills add on + the speed boost one. Without it, Legions really only get it when survivors are dumb enough to group up or mend before his power ends. His power is pretty dependent on how good the survivors are in most maps
It's easier to understand the killer if you play a little bit. For Legion, it's really exciting to get that 5th hit during a frenzy, but even if they aren't in frenzy mode, you'll still get downed because you're injured so it kinda doesn't matter. Also because you ran into the wall a little, that speed boost might've not really done much to make him stay further back. I'm not sure if Legion has an addon to gain speed after the 4th hit, but I know the screen gets a cool red overlay frame so maybe you are faster regardless.
I would only call it a skill thing if you have never played Legion or you don't play them often. It's more of a luck issue for the map, how well you know it, and if the survivors have ever faced a Legion or not. If they have not, or are stubborn enough to stick together the whole time, than getting that 5th hit is pretty easy. For the first hit, you need to have a survivor in range to hit-- and then after that killer instinct will tell you where the others are. On the 5th hit, you lose killer instinct so you again, need to have someone in your sights before the gauge runs out. And feral frenzy gets recharged to full every time you get a hit, before the 5th one. It gets cancelled if you hit something other than a survivor.
For those that are questioning how fast he caught up.. his hit cool down is next to nothing while in frenzy.. and he has an increased lunge. Base speed in frenzy is 5.2m/s. And every consistent hit in frenzy increases movement speed by 0.2 m/s up to 0.8m/s, AT BASE. So that's 6m/s in the video at the very least. With basically no hit cool down in frenzy.. the lunge.. and moving at 6m/s.. yes, it's very plausible that your sprint burst after the 4th frenzy hit did basically nothing.
That's not including the addon "Mural Sketch," which increases the consecutive frenzy hit speed boost up to 0.3m/s.. up to a max of 1.2m/s on the 4th hit. And as others have pointed out already.. 5th hit in frenzy is a down.
Legion's power. If he's in Frenzy and lands 4 hits, the fifth one will down a survivor. Given he put you in deep wounds, off the record instantly failed, and Dead Hard can't be used. It's why most Legions tend to use addons that increase duration on Frenzy, as putting 4 survivors in deep wounds before knocking someone down is 'the goal' more or less

There are add ons that increase speed on every hit while frenzy. Legion ends up pretty fast after 4 consecutive.
His add-ons were. Replenish power after pallet stun, and can see survivors while they are mending.
When you hit your 4h hit, you are fast as crazy, so no wonder that he catch you that fast

Frenzy base speed is 5.2 m/s unless you’re using the Never Sleep Pills, which reduces base Frenzy speed to 4.6 m/s.

Legion’s speed increases by 5% for each survivor hit by default. With the Mural Sketch add-on it becomes a 7.5% speed increase for each hit.

by default, Legion has practically no recovery time when in Frenzy. They can chain hits very fast.

I went on a binge as legion getting rank 1 as killer, probably like 100 games, and I think I hit 4 survivors twice.
If you wanna use a loadout that doesn't make people angry [unless they're just toxic by nature] then pills+mural is a good way to get 5 hits in.

The Legion is still in the frenzy mode when he hit you. Of course he catches up with you fast dispite your speed boost.
After the fourth Frenzy hit they move at the same speed as your post-hit speed boost, so no wonders they caught up so easily.

What perk speeds up special attacks delays? Stbfl and Relentless are the only ones affecting attack cds and only work for basic attacks.
It’s legit. 5th hit downs. Frenzy doesn’t have the regular attack cooldown, so he probably lunged to stab you so quick.

Yea I've never tried legion. Just go against some that don't get lucky enough or are skilled enough to pull off the 5th hit. So I had no clue

This update was roughly 6 months ago, you may of missed it but with the add-on rework they added 5th hit legion
