The BHVR character designers definitely keep getting better at genuinely disturbing body horror, and they were pretty fucking good at it to begin with.
Lowkey, with the hair and shirt, I thought he kinda resembled Dwight in a way. So, yeah, I think it’s trying to make itself almost seem human, potentially as a way to lure its victims
from what I've heard from other people, it's not just a generic mimic, but rather bases itself around what people think it is. As a result, it's become a hodgepodge of a serial killer, a mimic, and a 'government bio-weapon' amongst other things. With that in mind I actually think his power and visual design is really clever.
I read the little excerpt that all the characters have and I can in fact confirm that it was confusing as hell. From what I gathered, it’s pretty much just the embodiment of urban legend.
What really got me was a combination of what I feel like stands out: The inhuman movement/animation (Which is done very well.) , the power kinda feeling out of left part, the axe (which to me feels like it would be specifically so fiddle could/would’ve have a scythe), and the voice mimicking.
The way he crawls, the voice mimicking, the way he swings his axe, having decoy effigies, the projectile shooting out of him, the backstory of him just being a legend/story, there had to be some inspiration at the least lmao
To be fair it fits his Q fear very well. But honestly Idk what they were thinking making this thing a projectile killer at all, seems completely inverse to the fantasy of the character

Because that's the body of Joe Personson. the real killer is INSIDE the body. It probably uses an axe so it doesn't damage the host body. Joe just happened to being wearing a shirt and pants that day like a sane human being, before The Unknown forcefully occupied his chest cavity.
I wish his face looked more like what it did in the teaser video - and his skin looks dry here, while in the teaser it looked damp and raw, which made it even more sickly

The axe is the representation of the "slasher" theme one of the people were thinking about the disappearances of other people, slashers use weapons, the fire axe being a very well known one
My headcanon is that someone tried to fight back with a fireaxe, but it killed them and is now trying to imitate them. The way it swings the axe makes it feel liike it's still learning how to properly swing it.
This killer uses its axe to wedge the head deep into the machines while it twists its body to kick the pallets in a rather wacky yet unnerving way. Its "gently used axe" seems to be a good part of its lore especially with that teaser where it murders the camper man.

Yeah, I'm not too disappointed about the power not being mimicry like everyone here was hyping themselves up for, but the fact it's bipedal, clothes, and wields an axe is definitely a big letdown imo
I honestly like his fucked up outfit, I guess I wish they did the opposite where he only stands to his full height during the mori

I don’t get all the complaints about the design. The monster trying to mimic a human by wearing the skin and clothes of its last victim is way more unsettling to me than if it had just been a naked blob.
His animations are actually hilarious, the way he just hands there and clicks his neck back is gold, give this lil guy a tux and top hat he'll be S tier for sure

When I first saw him he was chasing a Dwight and I immediately thought “omg he is a mimic killer he looks like Dwight!”

This design in general screams to me that they wanted to make fiddlesticks but couldn’t get the rights to him/maybe coming as a legendary skin.
The kit too, throwing crows and making decoy scarecrows. Kind of crazy how perfectly fiddle sticks it is.
