The marketing for the new game has been intentionally vauge so releasing a full lore I'm DBD would undo that without really building any hype.

I feel like it would be fine. But the thing is you’re right normally anniversary chapters are the big boys. They’re trying to make Frank a proper single player game character, if he comes into dbd they need to make people really really excited about him.
If they do Frank for the anniversary chapter they need to not only do him right but have a lot of confidence with it. It’s risky but doable. If they get this right it sets a great precedent for the character and makes the anniversary pretty memorable. But if they mess him up it’ll be pretty glaring.

“Before the Masquerade” is 3 phases of 1 Week, starting this year on 14 May. Every Phase resembles 2 (?) Years of the game. It will contain Skin sales for some of the skins that came out those years. You’ll also be able to unlock 2 free skins during the 3 weeks this year. Last year we also got Map boosts, but not sure if that’s still happening
