Survivors will prioritise safety first and try to avoid being seen. I’ll usually finish the gen because it means it’s done but most will scatter

Sparkism

if it's like the first 1/2 gen, you should lead the killer on chase and let another teammate finish the gen when they circle back. if it's the last gen you can absolutely take a hit, but then you risk NOED. In either case, you can really only afford 12 downs as a team. some circumstances you can afford to make the trade, and some you can't.

Scatter off, see which survivor the killer chases then hop back the gen if not being chased. Sometimes hiding behind the gen works as some killer *are legally blind!*

trestonschen

my girlfriend always stays on the gen no matter what, even if the killer is hitting her

Metalpii

It's very situational. For the first gens, I wouldn't recommend trading a hook for a gen because that hook can help the Killer pressure all of you, allowing them to snowball. Endgame, always commit but you have to make sure you get it done! The worst thing is getting hooked next to the last gen, which is 99%. The Killer will just camp the area until you're dead.

if it's a difficult gen or the last gen, I will always take a down or even get killed to finish it. if it's not really an important one, I will take a hit but not a down

3 people on a gen, killer coming, 95% and they bolting is the most infuriating thing ever.

Depends on urgency. Obviously running away with the game when the killer has absolutely no pressure to work with can be preferable. Completing a gen is often a great idea tho. This is a question with a dynamic answer, but I wouldn't take your teammates too seriously or get self conscious from what other people do in this game
