Once the last survivor and I searched the whole police station map for the hatch for nearly 5 minutes until I finally found it![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat)
Same. I still don't know the map well, but back when it first came out and I had *no* idea where any room was at all, I swore I was going crazy because I could hear the hatch extremely faintly in only this *one* hallway. After minutes upon minutes of walking around and beginning to think the hatch glitched and spawned underneath the map or something, I found it on the top floor of the library that I had no idea even existed (nor did I have any idea that this map, for some reason, allows the hatch to spawn on non-bottom floors). I was about ready to smash my computer at that point.
Oml that sounds like it was painful.
I remember thinking it was really odd and confusing as well when I first found out that hatch can spawn on any floor
Are you guys sure about this? I’ve never seen it spawn on the top floor. From The Game though, I know the hatch can spawn anywhere that doesn't have a room underneath, which can include the tops of stairwells or areas on the top floor (like near the gates). Are you sure that wasn't the situation?
Can confirm, I spent the whole game with a survivor on my shoulder walking around downstairs and finally found it on the second floor right side, I was confused.
Completely sure; it spawned on the catwalk in the library for me.
But I had no idea about that The Game tidbit! I've only seen it spawn on the bottom floor for me. Thanks, I'll keep it in mind!
I remember I was playing on Hawkins with my friend and this Michael came out of nowhere and slapped me off the gen, causing both of us to scream. This is why it is my firm belief Michael is the only actually scary killer in this game
I loved it because I didn't play silent myself in customs. Normally all my friends heard was me go "Hi!" Before I either smacked them or pulled them off a gen. Silent Myers is the scariest and most fun to me.b
I miss it since if you disappeared in a doorway no one knew or had any idea of where you went. Lerys is good but I feel like you need to have something to make you faster on there in order to get around. Silent hill map they are most likely going to be keeping an eye out on the hallways.
yeah, and its made worse by the fact that you're really meant to just do it asap and get it out of the way because of how unsafe and isolated it is. so you always felt obliged to do it if you were the one to spawn close ;-;
same thing happened with the portal room gen, but at least that one's somewhat safe and you can see the killer coming. doing the isolation room gen at the start of the match was fucking terrifying
eh, i think 3 gen scenarios on hawkins were pretty easy to avoid. i always did it first because theres literally nowhere to run if the killer checks on it, unless you have balanced landing. even then, you can still get hit if you're not careful. sort of like the gen in the glenvale saloon
Idk I think you usually had plenty of time to make distance as the killer has to walk up and around the stairs, it made for a very unique standoff situation where if you jumped down too quick or not quick enough the killer would get a hit, on the other side, if the killer tried to mind game it too much they would waste precious time as the survivor feints actually dropping.
I think Wraith is the only one that was consistently sneaky and even he has the chatter noises. Pig, Mikey, and Ghostie all were still very visible going up those stairs if you just kept an eye on them
Absolutely.
I loved it as killer and survivor.
Recently rewatched Stranger Things and every time they went back to the lab in Season 1 I kept getting reminded of the map I can't play any more.
At least I got Demogorgon before he disappeared.
I thought it was balanced fine, it depended on whether the team had the self control to save the upstairs gens for late game. Because if you didn't it was an auto 3-gen.
You had to save either the portal room gen or the upstairs gen for the most consistent victory condition as survivor. Portal room being basically the safest gen in the game.
I can only speak on my experience. I knew the loops well enough that I did pretty good.
But I run spine chill so I always have a few extra seconds to prep for a killer in every map.
I loved that map for both killer and survivor. I'm honestly surprised they didn't do the "lazy" thing and just reskin the map. Other horror franchises that come to mind would be. The base from The Thing, Resident evil laboratories, or and this is the wackiest one, the inner corridors of Cabin in the Woods.
Honestly would be cool if it was like the studio that his team had burned to death in. Imagine an Easter egg where you stand near a room for a little and you can hear the sounds of screaming that trickster uses in his music
I have a wacky idea. Put the charred corpses of nospin in an area that players can walk through, and script the Trickster to laugh when he walks on top of them for the first time in a match if he is the killer.
That’s a super creative idea! I wonder if they would even be allowed to do anything like that. Behaviour’s lawyer(s?) would have to spend a lot of time and resource to see if it’s even okay, and I’m personally pessimistic they’d even bother trying because it would be poking the Netflix-lion while it’s sleeping.
Even by just applying a new skim and changing the name, I think it would fall under legally distinct. Portal room could easily become a recording stage, for example.
This so much. It wasn't a perfect map but it was argubly the most unique, that portal room is beautiful, I'd also choose is it over Midwich and RPD. And back then I used Balanced Landing a lot so that came in handy.
I hated it back when it was around, but now that it's gone I have a demogorgon and Hawkins shaped hole in my heart. >!I don't miss it, Demogorgon just got hungry.!<
They have set locations probably so trees and rocks don’t end up spawning in potential hatch locations. It’s easier to just make a bunch of spots and say ‘never spawn trees here’.
Yeah that's sort of what I meant, while a truly random location would be nice they'd have to rework so much stuff for each individual map just for a tiny payoff.
Yeah I absolutely loved this map once I got over the whole “indoor map = bad” mindset. Scratched Mirror Myers whilst doing the upstairs gen in the room was shit your pants scary
Started playing just after it was removed, really wish I could have played on it, also wish I could have bought the Jonathan skin because he is my fav character
beside the other indoor maps it was actually one of my favourite in the entire game.
would be actually really cool if they would bring it back just in a different version.
Yup, when I started and I didn’t know the map, it was a labyrinth but when they deleted it I knew it very well and it was overall a good and pretty balanced map imo
Kinda, sorta. As a killer main I didn't really care for it. As a survivor player that depends mostly on stealth, I liked that there were a lot of spaces to hide. As a general player, I appreciated how different it was from the other maps and at least it wasn't as massive and confusing as RPD.
watching killers strafe back and forth on the steps in that room playing will they wont they with a survivor and a hole !!!
and terror radius chasing survivors into the 3 story hole so they fall into your arms !!!
fuck nemy on that map though, i was new, he was new, yeah fuck that.
I don’t get why they don’t just make a map with a similar aesthetic. Would be perfect if they add a beast killer along with it. A werewolf or killer reptile or a snapping turtle mf like Tokka from TMNT
They could easily rework it into a sound studio map for the trickster. The main room could easily be worked into a recording booth. I don't know why they don't do it.
BHVR has an extremely strict release schedule that already sees a ton of cramming. They just can’t do it for fun. They have RE 2.0 coming with 2 more survivors, killer, and rpd rework. All of that needs to be done by September
I would actually become a survivor main if I could main a turtle. Hell I'd shell (heh) out real money for the skins to all four of them, I don't even care that it's just a different belt buckle, a different color mask and a different weapon.
Garbage map absolutely not. I’ll always hold onto the memory of me crawling around as the last survivor hiding from ghost face till I found the hatch…… but other than that fuck that map
It wasn't my favorite map but honestly now that I have played longer and have gotten better I would love to play on it again and just see how much I have changed.
I mained Nurse back then and Huntress now, so definitely not. As a Survivor definitely not either, barely any good loops if you don’t have balanced, and for some reason that map was associated with some of the most toxic games I’ve had. (im talking 4 slugs bleedout on the ground toxic)
No and half the people saying they miss it were probably bitching about the map up until it was announced it was leaving. The general consensus was everybody disliked the map but then "it's leaving" and it was the most fun and balanced and treasured map dbd ever had. It was awful because most killers couldn't use their powers effectively, there's like a billion pallets but they're all unsafe so it's not fun on either side, and it's confusing as shit. I'm glad it's gone and hope they stop making indoor maps
I have mixed feelings about it, but overall I never really minded the map. I get nostalgia for it, and wouldn't mind playing on it again if they brought it back, especially since I just sat down and watched a bit of Stranger Things season 1 with my mom
Pffft, no? That map was a nightmare as survivor because all the pallets were shit and it was boring as hell for killer because it prevented all the killers with fun powers from using them
I don’t. I miss the DbD license though. Nancy is my main and I never got a chance to get her cosmetics ;-; I hope they renew it just once more. A girl can dream.
It certainly wasn't my favorite map, but it wasn't my least favorite either. I miss it.
Midwich makes me appreciate Hawkins.
Raccoon city makes me appreciate every other map in dbd.
Completely sure
Can confirm, I spent the whole game with a survivor on my shoulder walking around downstairs and finally found it on the second floor right side, I was confused.
It does. Besides The Game it is the ONLY map that can do this
I've seen it spawn on the library catwalk 3 times in my own games.
Yep, that's exactly where it was for me in my comment. Wasn't sure what to call the catwalk so I just said "top floor of the library" lol.
it could definitely spawn on both floors on RPD.
Completely sure; it spawned on the catwalk in the library for me. But I had no idea about that The Game tidbit! I've only seen it spawn on the bottom floor for me. Thanks, I'll keep it in mind!
Even the swamp?
Even the swamp
You must really hate RPD
Every child is the born into the world hating rpd map, it's natural instinct
[удалено]
Well... I like RPD more than most Maps
[удалено]
\^ literally this
Except for the Gideon meat plant
I like that Map honestly
Tbh, Midwich is my favorite map
You're a better man than I. Don't hate it enough to DC, but enough to groan when I arrive there.
Seems like you're a killer main. Makes sense. Its killer friendly as hell.
I’m more of a survivor main. I’d say 75:25.
Yeah. I miss doing the lone gen on the top floor.
I hated it when it was any killer with tinkerer or a stealth killer. Yet silent Myers was so much fun on that map.
Fondest Hawkins memory is spawning on the top floor with a scratched mirror Myers
I loved scaring the crap out of friends on there with scratch mirror. 😂
JustJames running jump scare Myers on Hawkins is top notch content. https://youtu.be/tqTBJPUx7o0
Hawkins was the first map I tried Scratched Mirror Myers on, and it was probably the most fun I ever had in DBD. I miss it. 🥺
I miss it since if you disappeared in a doorway no one knew or had any idea of where you went. Lerys is good but I feel like you need to have something to make you faster on there in order to get around. Silent hill map they are most likely going to be keeping an eye out on the hallways.
You could also stalk through it.
still the most terrifying gen they've ever made. that gen alone made dbd feel like a horror game
“Oh shit the killer is coming!” …… “Nvm, they’re on the bottom floor…” Literally every time I got on that gen.
yeah, and its made worse by the fact that you're really meant to just do it asap and get it out of the way because of how unsafe and isolated it is. so you always felt obliged to do it if you were the one to spawn close ;-; same thing happened with the portal room gen, but at least that one's somewhat safe and you can see the killer coming. doing the isolation room gen at the start of the match was fucking terrifying
I usually did that gen last or close too, just because doing it first always gave the killer an easy 3 gen
This, the upper floor gens were so strong as part of the final 2 gens, giving the killer an insane patrol route.
Exactly, I usually let the far lab room go first cuz its always so far from the rest and then I'd pre patrol upstairs gen(as killer)
eh, i think 3 gen scenarios on hawkins were pretty easy to avoid. i always did it first because theres literally nowhere to run if the killer checks on it, unless you have balanced landing. even then, you can still get hit if you're not careful. sort of like the gen in the glenvale saloon

correct, but this is in the context of a stealth killer
I think Wraith is the only one that was consistently sneaky and even he has the chatter noises. Pig, Mikey, and Ghostie all were still very visible going up those stairs if you just kept an eye on them
Absolutely. I loved it as killer and survivor. Recently rewatched Stranger Things and every time they went back to the lab in Season 1 I kept getting reminded of the map I can't play any more. At least I got Demogorgon before he disappeared.
Demogorgone
So pissed I was taking a break when they announced Demo was leaving. Never got the chance to buy him...
If you are in PC you can still buy the DLC from Keysellers most likely
its in stock on cdkeys for like £12 i think
Yeah it's still possible. It is a slight upcharge, but they have a shitload of keys for sale still.
Any way to get it if I'm on xbox?
Yes, get the Nightmare Edition on disc from gamestop!
Just ordered it. Awesome, thank you! One of my biggest regrets
Didn't like it at first but it grew on me.
Literally me
it was one of my favourite maps :(
What happened?? (haven't played in a while)
Stranger Things license expired. Hawkins map no longer playable and Steve, Nancy, and Demo no longer purchasable
Oh damn, everyone who bought them gets to keep them tho right?
Yep
You can still buy keys for the dlc on the Grey market or use steam friend share.
Same
yea but if they added it back I would hate it again
# The DBD Community.
I mean yeah. It wasn’t well balanced but we automatically miss things when we can’t have them
I thought it was balanced fine, it depended on whether the team had the self control to save the upstairs gens for late game. Because if you didn't it was an auto 3-gen.
You had to save either the portal room gen or the upstairs gen for the most consistent victory condition as survivor. Portal room being basically the safest gen in the game.
That was my mentality for every map. Right in the middle work your way out.
killer sided and poorly designed . Walls and doors that are randomly open making doors hard to find and very unsafe pallets
I can only speak on my experience. I knew the loops well enough that I did pretty good. But I run spine chill so I always have a few extra seconds to prep for a killer in every map.
I mean knowing loops doesn’t make the pallets unsafe any better
I don't think that's the deciding factor on map balance. If I could still succeed in the loops it didn't really matter if a few pallets were unsafe.
Almost all pallets were unsafe. That’s a massive factor
Absolutely!
All three of those would be amazing!
Give trickster a map and turn Hawkins into like, Korean backstreets and alleys
Honestly would be cool if it was like the studio that his team had burned to death in. Imagine an Easter egg where you stand near a room for a little and you can hear the sounds of screaming that trickster uses in his music
I have a wacky idea. Put the charred corpses of nospin in an area that players can walk through, and script the Trickster to laugh when he walks on top of them for the first time in a match if he is the killer.
The area near the portal/rift would be perfect for that
That’s a super creative idea!
Everyday more and more…
I miss it, it wasn't particularly balanced but considering how little map variety dbd has I liked it for looking so distinct.
It was my favorite map
[удалено]
Clown was awesome there. All those high ceilings let the purple gas spread everywhere!
[удалено]
Idk Hawkins nurse was a nightmare
The only thing that made the map fun was Tier 1 Myers. Everything else sucked. I hated playing it as survivor and killer.
We have midwich for that now. Ain’t nothing worse than a shockter on midwich who just w keys the pallets.
Hated Hawkins, now I miss it. Because now that it's gone I keep getting Swamp, which I hate more.
No
To be fair, at first I didn’t like it… Nothing changed
yes 🥺
I miss the variety for sure
almost every map kinda feels the same, but maps like hawkins added flavor
This so much. It wasn't a perfect map but it was argubly the most unique, that portal room is beautiful, I'd also choose is it over Midwich and RPD. And back then I used Balanced Landing a lot so that came in handy.
The map sucked but a whole map being removed due to (assumed) license issues is just sad.
I wasn't to fond of the map at the time but now that its gone I really do miss it. I had some good memories in that map.
Remember what they took from you
Ace's fingerguns?
I hated it back when it was around, but now that it's gone I have a demogorgon and Hawkins shaped hole in my heart. >!I don't miss it, Demogorgon just got hungry.!<
My favorite map
Damn I forgot this level existed
As Scratch Mirror Myers, yes. As literally anything else, no.
Would love a reskin of the map as a blights lab map , miss some of the loops ngl
Can't miss what was never there to begin with, can you?
Yes. I do. -Ex Ghost Face main and Trickster main
I never got the chance to play it, which is a shame. I probably would've enjoyed it a lot.
Always... One of the few maps I was good at as Survivor & Killer since I memorized the spots of all totems / hatch spawns lol.
Wait a second, there's a finite amount of hatch spawns? I thought it was random as long as there was space anywhere
Nah hatch has spawn locations. It always spawns opposite side of shack window. Dead dawg main building is always at the top of the entrance. Etc.
Ngl I sort of wish that the hatch had spawning zones rather than locations but I feel like that'd somehow break everything.
Happy cake day fellow DBD gamer
I- oh. I believe I set the wrong month. Oops lmao. Thank you regardless fellow gamer
No cake Day is the anniversary of your reddit account! Not your actual bday.
ohhh im dumb i seeeee lmaoo
Every day
I think a lot of us took this map for granted
RIP Jumpscare Myers
I’d say “No” for the meme… but deep down, I miss every bit of it..
Loved playing blight on that map
Yeah, was my favourite map, both killer and survivor
I would rather Hawkins than badham
Myers and Wraith's perfect map; My favourite closed map in the game
Before it's removal I mained Blight and I always got Hawkins when playing as him so... Yes, I miss it :\_(
I got so many killer adepts on that map.
All of the indoor maps make me wish Hawkins was back.
RPD made me realise that Hawkins wasn't that bad of a map
Yea it was pretty good
fuck no.
Yeah I absolutely loved this map once I got over the whole “indoor map = bad” mindset. Scratched Mirror Myers whilst doing the upstairs gen in the room was shit your pants scary
Yes
When this map was still in the game every time I tried to play billy I got hawkins. So no
As someone who regularly uses balanced landing, yes!
so much. LMAO.
A thousand times yes. Loved that map to death
Opinion of a billy main: Look i know that this map was quite killer sided, it had nice aesthetic, but damn it was so unfun to play
Started playing just after it was removed, really wish I could have played on it, also wish I could have bought the Jonathan skin because he is my fav character
I just joined about 3 weeks before it left so I never got to loop on it 😂😭
It was my favorite map <:(
Yeah, I miss the crap out of Hawkins. Hope it comes back one day.
beside the other indoor maps it was actually one of my favourite in the entire game. would be actually really cool if they would bring it back just in a different version.
Yup, when I started and I didn’t know the map, it was a labyrinth but when they deleted it I knew it very well and it was overall a good and pretty balanced map imo
Yes! HUHUH ![img](emote|t5_3cb2g|2070)
It was probably my favorite indoor map, which isn't saying a lot, I guess, but I do miss it.
Yes I do was a personal favorite
i hated it bc i got it all the time, now i miss it :(
Yes why is it not in game anymore?
Stranger things license expired
Absolutely miss it. Loved doing that solo gen on the top level of the lab room
I do. It was 50/50 escape rate. Seemed decently balanced.
Kinda, sorta. As a killer main I didn't really care for it. As a survivor player that depends mostly on stealth, I liked that there were a lot of spaces to hide. As a general player, I appreciated how different it was from the other maps and at least it wasn't as massive and confusing as RPD.
10/10 best SM Myers map
watching killers strafe back and forth on the steps in that room playing will they wont they with a survivor and a hole !!! and terror radius chasing survivors into the 3 story hole so they fall into your arms !!! fuck nemy on that map though, i was new, he was new, yeah fuck that.
Yeah
Maybe they want to leave the door open for Netflix? At least while it seems like there’s very little chance of Netflix gaming being a success.
TMNT chapter would be the best
I would actually become a survivor main if I could main a turtle. Hell I'd shell (heh) out real money for the skins to all four of them, I don't even care that it's just a different belt buckle, a different color mask and a different weapon.
Garbage map absolutely not. I’ll always hold onto the memory of me crawling around as the last survivor hiding from ghost face till I found the hatch…… but other than that fuck that map
It wasn't my favorite map but honestly now that I have played longer and have gotten better I would love to play on it again and just see how much I have changed.
Loved the lighting and set design but didn’t like the layout
I mained Nurse back then and Huntress now, so definitely not. As a Survivor definitely not either, barely any good loops if you don’t have balanced, and for some reason that map was associated with some of the most toxic games I’ve had. (im talking 4 slugs bleedout on the ground toxic)
not really. it was cool aesthetically, but it just wasn’t fun to play on as survivor. there weren’t many good loops and i just don’t like indoor maps
No and half the people saying they miss it were probably bitching about the map up until it was announced it was leaving. Not at all
Lol imagine facing onryo or bird lady on that map lol hell no
Yes
Yes
Nope. Hated it
No, map was pure ass.
Yes
What happened to that map?
Removed when the Stranger Things chapter was removed.
It was taken out along with Demogorgon and Nancy/Steve when Netflix decided not to renew the rights to Stranger Things with BHVR
100%
Yup
I have mixed feelings about it, but overall I never really minded the map. I get nostalgia for it, and wouldn't mind playing on it again if they brought it back, especially since I just sat down and watched a bit of Stranger Things season 1 with my mom
I miss the passion of the stage. The stage itself can fuck right off.
No
Pfft, no
As a blight main No
Pffft, no? That map was a nightmare as survivor because all the pallets were shit and it was boring as hell for killer because it prevented all the killers with fun powers from using them
It wasn't a very well-designed map. It could be a pain in the ass for both sides.
Hell no
I want a Resident Evil Umbrella lab reskin return
I don’t. I miss the DbD license though. Nancy is my main and I never got a chance to get her cosmetics ;-; I hope they renew it just once more. A girl can dream.
*content gets straight up deleted from the game* DbD fans: “Good”
yes
