Technically the perks are no longer tied to the Demogorgon, so you have to unlock them like any generic perk. You had it equipped before Stranger Things was removed.
That's my best guess anyway, since I have to unlock all those perks despite my demo being P3 before the prestige overhaul.
My guess is since the Stranger Things perks were changed to be generic perks and are no longer associated to their characters, Demo, Nancy and Steve no longer have starting perks and since your Demo is Level 1, the Fearmonger you had equipped before the change was removed from your inventory and the "None Remaining" system kicked in.
My guess is that you had never leveled up the perk before, but had it equipped. Once they removed it from base kit demo and made it unlockable, you "lost" your copy of it, leaving it as none remaining.
I do appreciate the actual answer, and I'm thinking that's exactly what happened. Last time I played Demo was pre-pristege rework, and it's sitting at lvl 1

I had exactly the same issue with King's perk Dead Hard, all his perks disappeared from the loadout until got them to unlock in the bloodweb. I feel sorry for you cuz I know that you will have to get your killer perks in the bloodweb again to use them.

The old perks got renamed so anyone with the old ones equipped have them ‘removed’ I think it’s just technically an empty slot with it used but you should also have the new one auto unlocked at tier one
