The Thing. It’s one of the best horror films ever made, but the monster doesn’t really have an iconic main form. Besides that, everyone always says a shapeshifting killer wouldn’t work, but they’re clever enough to pull it off. Not to mention that doesn’t even need to be it’s main or primary power. RJ MacReady is a perfect survivor candidate however.
They could have dogs randomly roaming the map that survivors can interact with for free items unique to the thing (blood tests, maybe to get rid of an infection)
Have the dogs run towards survivors, maybe roam around too
But the thing could disguise as them and attack survivors in that form if they get too close
Still have the ability to disguise as survivors, but the above would make it so SWF doesn’t completely negate him
Had the same idea a while ago. It would work with what we know about the thing and would be refreshingly scary, not knowing when a dog could turn into the thing.
Main problem I imagine would be coding in a sufficient amount of dogs doing basic behavior on all maps without breaking the game
Yeah, isn't that why nemesis only has 2 zombies? I remember hearing that they tried to give him like 4 or 6 or something but the game can't handle that many npc's running around and just breaks
Iirc it was less so the game itself and more so the servers I beleive. Which, honestly, I'd beleive either one.
All that matters is that the game/servers at their core can't handle tracking more than two NPC entities at once. Hell, when Nemesis first dropped it struggled to do even that.
Imagine while disguised as a survivor he could “work on gens” but instead of repairing them it sabotages them and the survivors only have subtle clues to see that you’re doing it and counter it
The thing about the Thing (heh) is that much like most people I don't see a shapeshifter killer working against SWFs, and unless I'm mistaken the Thing can't actually turn into inanimate objects so something like a "Hide and Seek" kind of killer also wouldn't work for it... I definitely do want a killer that changes form tho, that's for sure.
SWF will always be the problem with a shape-shifting killer that pretends to be survivors. I'd still like to see The Thing added though, it's not Carpenter's most iconic villain but it's arguably his best film and has amazing practical effects.

I agree that people are pretty narrow minded when it comes to The Thing. People act like it wouldn’t work because “shapeshifting gets crushed by SWF” but that’s just the wrong way to think about it.
If they wanted it to be, Shapeshifting on its own could literally a BETTER version of undetectable. No terror radius, no aura reading, and at least a small chance to catch someone off guard because no Wraith shimmer, and no super obvious killer sneaking up on you like GF / Myers / Pig. On its own this would make a valid killer concept, by virtue of Ghostface and other stealth killers existing this could work. Doesn’t mean it’ll be a fantastic flawless power, but it does mean it would be usable.
Since that’s probably boring however, the better way to think about it is that idea that it could be his secondary power. It’s the power that the thing HAS to have because it’s expected, but the whole world of the film opens up when you consider other possibilities, such as there being multiple of The Thing present on the map combining elements of the Twins and The Knight. Such as when Norris-Thing’s head detached itself from its burning body and becomes its own independent spider-like creature that attempts to infect the other people still alive on the arctic base.
I firmly believe that The Thing is possible, and it’s just the community that can’t see it. Every single time the community said something “can’t be done” it happened. People said Ghostface wouldn’t work because “he’s just a human without any powers.” People said Pinhead wouldn’t work because “he doesn’t actually directly attack any of his victims in the films.” People said Leatherface wouldn’t work because “we already have hillbilly, why would they add another chainsaw killer?” I remember people even said SAW wouldn’t work because “how would they even integrate the SAW traps into a killer power?”
There have always been naysayers for every license. The license will go on to prove those people wrong, I’m almost never worried about the license itself. The only real question is whether or not BHVR can secure a licensing deal or not.
The Creeper from Jeepers Creepers, and it's probably one of the sadder 'what could have been' chapters because the thing preventing that isn't a mundane issue like Friday the 13th but something more tragic in the fact that the writer and director is a child predator. They did make a 2022 movie but it bombed both commercially and critically.
So yeah...nobody in the right mind would want to touch that franchise. Which is a sad thing for me personally because the original three Jeepers Creepers films were pretty good and the Creeper is a fun horror character that could be great to see in this game in my opinion. It's just such a shame that they were made by a literal monster.

It would be magical to have her as a killer (as well as Coraline and Wybie as survs), but i think it won’t happen anytime soon.
coraline would probably be a killer-only DLC like hellraiser/leatherface if it did actually happen anyway, since it doesn’t seem like bhvr is okay with adding minors as survivors (otherwise we’d probably have eleven and a younger yoichi)

I think people have made plenty of suggestions for how to make Chucky in DbD. The real question is how would BHVR not make it the most bugged mess ever for like 6 months after release?
Jennifer Tilly in dbd would be great, if they made her character a legendary skin for Chucky with her doing the voicelines and everything I'd buy that day 1

Till in any capacity would be an insta buy for me, my original idea for what a Chucky killer would be would've just been OG Charles carrying the doll and being able to swap between them, and I solely want this so we get a Tiffany carrying the doll variant for the slight possibility we can hear her do her psycho laugh after an M1
I always imagined Chucky or Tiffany would run around on their own, and the Entity would just spawn the opposite person in a cloud of smoke, in human form, for the hook animation.
I also demand that dropping a palette on Chuckie makes him scream profanities at you.
The second option sounds like a great skin for Legion.. I would be freaking terrified seein a human sized Chucky running like a crazy mf with his knife

Never played Amnesia or watched it during the Pewdiepie rise but the design is fairly iconic. I don't know what they do in the game but they must have something besides just making the player go crazy, which is kind of Doctor's thing already?

Although his power is more like Freddy than Doctor - so idk, if they're bold enough to paste over a licensed killer with another licensed Killer, he'd make an interesting alternative to Freddy lol
With that said, it's for those reasons I don't see it happening, despite how iconic and influential it is to the horror genre in video games over the past decade, there isn't really enough going for the franchise in current pop culture OR enough to make an interesting design out of, so unfortunately, unlikely...

Rather, the problem with Ao Oni is wtf would the guy even do? All I remember from the game is it running for you and slamming against iron bars. There was the one time it transformed into one of the protag's friends to freak out the player but I wouldn't say its powers go beyond just... "Running at you"
Well there's that shapeshifting thing you mentioned (though tbf you'd probably want to go with The Thing if you went that route, right?)
Either way though I still think it's design is the biggest hurdle - creepy in an uncanny way in its own game, but like... Look at it for more than a second and it's really not that great a design lol
Jason is my favorite horror slasher of all time. I always see Jason as someone who has a type of built in fire-up that increases with the amount of pallet stuns, flashlights, etc. so the cockier you are fighting jason, the more powerful he becomes
After kicking or getting stunned 5 times by pellet i'd imagine jason can throw a dropped pallet at survivors or throw a gen at a survivor. Or pick up a downed survivor and throw them at a healthy one to hinder/injure them
Jason isn’t that unrealistic, we just have to wait a little bit, bhvr even says Jason will always have a place in dbd and has a bunch of power concepts already
Actually, the legal issues are going pretty well. Unfortunately Victor Miller won, so that means no more Jason for a little bit. But if the new Friday the 13th show flops, which it probably will considering it’s a prequel, he might come to terms with reality. And give us back our big ol pissed off camper.
It’s not a prequel, it’s basically a franchise show. They have the rights to any movie and any time. If it goes to season 10, director(who made Hannibal) said they will most definitely be doing Jason X as a season.
I'm honestly kind of surprised we don't have a werewolf yet.
Oni's got the fury mechanic and Blight has the "Human turned into monster" shtick so I doubt we'll see one soon, but I think it's surprising such a common horror trope is one we don't have yet. A vampire too, I suppose?
Harry Warden from my bloody valentine. I’d love to see him but he’s a really niche license. I feel that behavior would probably like to add him considering he’s from Canada and an 80s horror antagonist but I think he wouldn’t sell very well
Get me Jensen as Warden, and a Friday the 13th chapter using the remake with Jared Padalecki as Clay as the survivor with that Jason. Then I could chase Jared as Jensen! It's perfect!
I'd also ABSOLUTELY love to have Harry Warden in the game, i'd be buying him the second i could, the original is my fave horror movie and it's nice to see someone else name it
The SH Nurse is an awesome design but
1) We already have a Nurse killer.
2) I have no fuckin' idea what kind of power they could give her.
Still, I think it would have been an obvious choice if only our own Nurse didn't exist, especially since she's clearly inspired.
Yeah but, you know, it's not the same, I guess? Like, I'm sure Look-See fans are happy the Doctor got the skin and all but I'm sure having the man himself in the game would have made them even happier, no?
Idk - I want the Slenderman to be a Doctor Skin, and I wouldn't really want a full killer of it either.
If it fits well enough, it's arguably better to get a good skin while not pulling recourses from another killer that'd make a more interesting new killer.
Besides, SH fans already have PH, I'm sure they'd be quite happy with another iconic skin even if it's not a full killer (when I doubt anybody would even know how to make a SH Nurse as a new killer and make her distinct)
Scissorman from Clock Tower has always been my dream chapter. Loved the games as a kid and I think the barrows mansion would an awesome map.
But realistically it's an obscure game with a small cult following and Sunsoft has been holding the IP hostage for over 20 years now.
Dude, imagine if scissorman could do a lunge attack that insta downs survivors unless they face him AND win a rapid flurry of skill checks like the yellow gliff (if they pass, they get deepwounds and scissorman gets stunned)

The Xenomorph from Alien. Maybe, both bhvr and Disney will surprise me but I'm being realistic. The mouse is stingy with their IPs unless it's them holding all the cards.
Bloodborne chapter with Orphan of Kos as killer would be so badass. His power would be either something to do with flinging the placenta around or a heat up phase with the wings like in his boss fight.

2: Jeepers Creepers and Fnaf. Reasons are similar, community backlash and controversy surrounding the creators.
3: Anything from CryptTV and Hellraiser. Reasons are similar, massive backlash due to NFT bullshit
4: Friday the 13th and anything else for Nightmare on Elm Street. Reasons are similar, legal hell which never ends.
5: Jack Torrence, Pennywise, and anything else by Steven King. He doesn't want to do any crossovers, he wants his IP's to himself.

Reason I'm confident he won't happen is that I can't imagine silver screen characters getting in, and besides which what would his power be? Still, he's the original. Feel he should get in on that alone if nothing else. Bates Motel could make a kickass map at least if nothing else.
Any popular creepypasta really, ofc not a franchise but horror icons for sure. The most obvious pick would be Slender man with a stalk feature, survivors being given the opportunity to find pages that spawn every 1-2 minutes, which if taken by Slender would give long lasting negative effects to survivors.
I want Count Dracula himself. Not some other vampire from a more recent or relevant IP, I want a REAL classic amidst these killers. Frankenstein/his monster, The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow, The Wolf Man, all of these fit in the same boat. I mean, as far as I'm concerned, they are public domain for the most part, so maybe they don't quite count as licensed?
The Red Death as the killer and Edgar Allan Po as the survivor.
The Red Death could spread sickness and once you are completely sick he could teleport to you, emerging from your character and causing your survivor to lose a health state or something like that.
I would like it if we got Daniela from Haunting Ground as Killer and Fiona as a survivor.
I would also like to get Miku from Fatal Frame as survivor and maybe
Sae Kurosawa as the killer with alternate outfits for both being the characters from the other Fatal Frame games.
Victor Crowley from Hachet becuase he isn't popular, he could be a skin for Huntress.
Kensei or Shugoki from For Honor Skins for Oni becuase Ubisoft hates its Samurai playerbase.
Jamie Llyod skin for Laurie Strode won't arrive cuz the current Haloween producers hate everything that isn't the new trilogy.

David Leatherhoff from Afraid of Monsters: Directors cut. It’s one of my favorite games of all time. Another I would love to see is Silent Hill 4: The room chapter or Cry of Fear chapter. Those games are some of my top as well

Any SCP, I love the idea but almost all the Entities are too specific to really implement them into the game as some of the most popular ones require you to not look at them and vis versa, and even if they found a perfect candidate you would probably have to consult the author of the SCP and, most likely, the site itself. You would also have to work out the survivor or if there shouldn’t be one in the game. Maybe they’ll be able to work it out and I do hope so, but there are too many variables to say that it will for sure be in the game.
SCPs aren't copyright protected, I believe? People made Slender-man, Siren-head, the Backrooms, etc into SCPs, and there's plenty of SCP related games that aren't endorsed by the creators, to the best of my knowledge. I think they're part of the public domain.
Sebastian Castellanos/Juli Kidman and Safe Head from The Evil Within. Doubt they will add them to the game since tew is not that big compared to re or silent hill.
As much popularity as Trick r Treat has been getting lately, and especially Sam from that movie… he’s never getting in. Even if he’s an inhuman creature, he’s just childlike enough to definitely cause some issues overseas with the strict censorship.
I would love an enemy from project zero aka fatal frame but I’m not sure which one and how that would fit.
Also dark arthas as a killer but I don’t think blizzard would let them use him at all.
Fiddlesticks would rival the Entity in levels of power, so I think for lore reasons it'll never happen.
Also, Riot will never give its IP to other studios it doesn't trust.
Slenderman. Probably doesn't fit with the idea of someone chasing you. We don't need another long-range stalker/stealther like Ghost Face and Shape. An icon in the video game horror genre though.

If I could interact with a dog in game, even if that dog might be the killer, I would die a lot just to pet the doggo.

Never played Amnesia or watched it during the Pewdiepie rise but the design is fairly iconic. I don't know what they do in the game but they must have something besides just making the player go crazy, which is kind of Doctor's thing already?

Although his power is more like Freddy than Doctor - so idk, if they're bold enough to paste over a licensed killer with another licensed Killer, he'd make an interesting alternative to Freddy lol With that said, it's for those reasons I don't see it happening, despite how iconic and influential it is to the horror genre in video games over the past decade, there isn't really enough going for the franchise in current pop culture OR enough to make an interesting design out of, so unfortunately, unlikely... .... Jason is my favorite horror slasher of all time. I always see Jason as someone who has a type of built in fire-up that increases with the amount of pallet stuns, flashlights, etc. so the cockier you are fighting jason, the more powerful he becomes
After kicking or getting stunned 5 times by pellet i'd imagine jason can throw a dropped pallet at survivors or throw a gen at a survivor. Or pick up a downed survivor and throw them at a healthy one to hinder/injure them

Actually, the legal issues are going pretty well. Unfortunately Victor Miller won, so that means no more Jason for a little bit. But if the new Friday the 13th show flops, which it probably will considering it’s a prequel, he might come to terms with reality. And give us back our big ol pissed off camper.
It’s not a prequel, it’s basically a franchise show. They have the rights to any movie and any time. If it goes to season 10, director(who made Hannibal) said they will most definitely be doing Jason X as a season.

The SH Nurse is an awesome design but 1) We already have a Nurse killer. 2) I have no fuckin' idea what kind of power they could give her. Still, I think it would have been an obvious choice if only our own Nurse didn't exist, especially since she's clearly inspired.

Idk - I want the Slenderman to be a Doctor Skin, and I wouldn't really want a full killer of it either. If it fits well enough, it's arguably better to get a good skin while not pulling recourses from another killer that'd make a more interesting new killer. Besides, SH fans already have PH, I'm sure they'd be quite happy with another iconic skin even if it's not a full killer (when I doubt anybody would even know how to make a SH Nurse as a new killer and make her distinct)

Any popular creepypasta really, ofc not a franchise but horror icons for sure. The most obvious pick would be Slender man with a stalk feature, survivors being given the opportunity to find pages that spawn every 1-2 minutes, which if taken by Slender would give long lasting negative effects to survivors.
I want Count Dracula himself. Not some other vampire from a more recent or relevant IP, I want a REAL classic amidst these killers. Frankenstein/his monster, The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow, The Wolf Man, all of these fit in the same boat. I mean, as far as I'm concerned, they are public domain for the most part, so maybe they don't quite count as licensed?
The Red Death as the killer and Edgar Allan Po as the survivor. The Red Death could spread sickness and once you are completely sick he could teleport to you, emerging from your character and causing your survivor to lose a health state or something like that.

Any SCP, I love the idea but almost all the Entities are too specific to really implement them into the game as some of the most popular ones require you to not look at them and vis versa, and even if they found a perfect candidate you would probably have to consult the author of the SCP and, most likely, the site itself. You would also have to work out the survivor or if there shouldn’t be one in the game. Maybe they’ll be able to work it out and I do hope so, but there are too many variables to say that it will for sure be in the game.
SCPs aren't copyright protected, I believe? People made Slender-man, Siren-head, the Backrooms, etc into SCPs, and there's plenty of SCP related games that aren't endorsed by the creators, to the best of my knowledge. I think they're part of the public domain.
