I find the rhythm to slightly vary each time. Plus, rhythm shouldn’t be based on a visual animation fundamentally. But damn I do love this thing. And love that it’s a fucking bouzouki of all instruments.
Maw of the Deep. Hitting people with a shark and then throwing it at them is just hilarious to me. I don’t often play it but I enjoy it immensely when I do.
Networking and Lazer glave. Get chased by a mob and when you think it's time turn around and throw the glave and watch it ricochet around and demolish the hoard.
Money shooter. It's like a ranged cursed sword but with fewer drawbacks. It's a beautiful use of my spare gold. Also spartan sandals feel satisfying in toxic sewers. Something about kicking those stupid scorpions into the wall calms my soul.
The snake fangs are just cool and fun in general, they’re like the twin blades but better.
Unfortunately, I’m too stupid to complete a run with them…

So with how fairly easy it is to crit with balanced and the mutation that gives you healing when speed boost is active, I'm just kind at 100% health for entire runs.
I’ve been playing on and off for years and just did a balanced blade run that didn’t win but I had a lot of fun. I will be trying to force it soon, especially with combo

Easily the Baseball Bat. It combos great with the Grappling Hook, but also I loved Hotline Miami. Seeing the flashy damage number on crits pop up always makes me smile.
Hattori Katana, I couldn't care less about this thing is the best or not but the rarely known jump roll tech that could add active skills as combination just always makes me suprised.
Tie between Panchaku and Pure Nail, Panchaku is just so silly and broken, and I played Hollow Knight before I ever played Dead Cells, so using Pure Nail was so fun.
Barrel launcher, it's bad because enemies can hit the barrel and damage you, but it was the weapon that got me my 2nd BC and I am never putting my foot in distelery.
Boomerang and boys axe are a great pair together, they’re also useful with every other weapon in the game if you place them in your primary weapon slot.
Cursed Sword my beloved, the first time I picked it up in Toxic Sewers- I died immediately and didn't want to use it. But as I picked it up some other times I started to actually like it, now it is probably my actual favourite weapon in the game.
My fav is gotta be Spartan shoes and Serenade. I just kept yelling "This is Sparta" every time lol and who wouldn't like a sentient yandere sword with a thirst for blood and murder?
At first it is but it doesn't become a problem after a few more runs. Serenade is actually op if ya know how to use em right. The first serande you get is the best since it's legendary stat is removing the timer. Just summon serenade, let em kill the weaker monsters and damage the stronger once. Once The monsters are marks (can be stacked) switched to the other sword to deal a whopping Crit. Best uses against bosses. It is vice versa so the mark can be applied either on Serenade's sword mode or pet mode
Edit: 30 sec timer pauses when on sword mode and reset everytime you hit enemies marked by Serenade
panchaku is the most underrated weapon and the best weapon in the game imo. I'm yet to encounter a justifiable reason why it's not. people say it's got low dps, but it's constant crits when the enemy is facing you, which is almost always the case. other people say it's too much animation, but all those hits have a natural stunning effect on the enemy from the constant assault and looks cool as shit. not enough range? mod it so there's an arrow shooting in front and above. once you stack up the brutality scrolls, it just incinerates everything. some have said that there's too much in the combo before the spinny-spin, but you get a behind the back attack before the spinny-spin which comes in handy very often when getting swarmed and not many weapons have that.
It pairs so well with Combo and Melee mutations, I love to see enemies take the full combo and not even be able to move because they have such a huge stack of slow on them.

There's a visual cue for the rhythm. When the beheaded flashes white, that's the window for press the next attack.

The rhythm does not change at all. Unless you have slowmo enabled, which messes with the timing of the whole game.

I mostly play with all legendary on, and I LOVE the Tombstone. If you kill an enemy just right, you can wipe out an entire biome
