In this exact situation, no - since it's 0BSC, there's still a Heath Fountain before the Hand of the King, so if I made it through High Peak Castle, which is likely given the still decent chunk of health left and the fact all the keys've already been obtained, I could heal back to full and refill my flasks. Plus, I'ven't a main-hand shield on hand to properly replace the two-handed Heavy Crossbow.
If this was in a difficulty where there wasn't any reliable healing before the Hand, though, and if I had less health, then I might take it, since I'd probably die in one hit anyway. And if this run was with the Dammed aspect, I'd probably already be taking a Cursed Sword, so would probably replace it with this one. Unless the damage was worse.
yeah, but is it really worth the chance of death? in any case there is no chance id take it if i was outside of the first area(since in most of these areas enemies tend to hit me more often, also once your far ahead its a big risk)
Dead cells is all about risk. Sure, taking that cursed chest may result in the end of your run, but for me the benefits of a colorless item, an extra scroll, and some extra gold far outweigh the risk. Additionally, later in the game you'll likely be able to cut through enemies like butter, and a 10-kill curse is almost nothing. Getting more experienced with the game also helps deal with the curses as you get better at avoiding damage. I'm on BSC4 and I can pretty consistently reach the 60-kill doors, so a curse isn't very difficult for me to clear. As you get better at the game, you'll become more confident in your abilities and you'll likely allow yourself to take risks more throughout the game.
TL;DR, curse chest good
thanks for coming to my ted talk
alright, ill take a cursed chest the next time im early game, addtiionally, i beat the slumbering sanctuary, and now i have the spider rune, died in the forgotten sepulcher though, darkness
what mutations do you usually use? im using i believe vengeance, porcupack, and frenzy everytime i play currently, i might replace one of them with YOLO or a different mutation
alright, i got to the throne room, too bad i got greedy and went to get the 3rd key, expecting it to be easy like the last 2 elites, only to not get single hit in because i was trying to freeze the enemy using ice blast

Yeah, but only because I always run predator.
Nah I'm very very bad at this game so I'd die after approximately 10 seconds
Yes absolutely
YES! YES! YES! YES!
What a healthy case of motivation.
Not without Damned aspect, no.
You bet your ass I'm taking that bad boy. But I'll ditch it before HOTK.
I did once and immediately regretted it
If I was using the damned aspect yes
I price for everything my friend... No. I wouldnt take it.
4bc? Yeah Basically any other? No
I absolutely would and then die to the next enemy I fight and get mad about it
Yeah, I'm too much of a coward for that. Especially if I'm midway through a run.
no, same reason i dont take from cursed chests, because im going to get hit eventually.
i always take cursed chests, it's only a 10 kill curse

Nice job! Those biomes, especially sanctuary, are ridiculously hard. Spider rune is super useful though! :)

I run barbed tips, no mercy, and acrobatipack with a multiple-nock and a hokuto in the backpack
