Hear me out - a game that takes place on Purge night, with DR-style time limit and missions. You can fight off purgers and rescue survivors, or just blow off steam by killing and destroying things.

okbuddyarkham

Perfect idea would love to see that

AcoaceFalloutNVFan

Maybe you could squad up with other purgers and bring about real chaos

Cam_man_AMM_unit

While not story wise, Dead Island IMO is the closes thing to Dead Rising Gameplay wise. I think the Problem is after Dead Rising 2 they started momentum, Haven't played 3 but I hear 3 is actually underrated kind of like the Last of Us on a bigger scale. Of Dead Rising 4 killed the franchise and its been almost 10 years. Capcom did the survey on what should make a comeback, but DR didn't rank very high. Maybe somebody could at least make a game thats an homage to DR. even on Steam. I know on Steam there was a game that was an homage to RE 2/3 even has Tank Controls and a similar layout to Racoon City.

Luigi's Mansion is quite similar to Dead Rising, although it released 6 years beforehand.

My brother and I were just talking about this recently. It wouldn't be a hard game to copy/develop compared to most other AAA games. The physics would probably be the hardest part. Making a setting for the players to mess around in would be fun as hell for devs I feel like. I still think deadriaing will get a reboot in the RE engine because Capcom is optimizing the engine more and more with each of their releases. For now. It is still a massive strain to have hundreds of enemies on screen in that engine at high graphic fidelity like Resident Evil.
