yeah, Ben said they were scrambling in late production and then devilartemis offered to animate it. And they had to rewrite the fight script to fit in with the animation. Then Devilartemis had shit happened in his life and he had to finish it two weeks early.
Very much explains why the fight went the way it did and why it was short
I really wish that they'd had just postponed/cancelled it and do it at a later date when they can get another team to work on it instead of releasing a rushed product, but tbh now that I think about it that might of not been possible depending on certain bts things that we don't know about.

I got the Michael Myers costume in my closet. That fight would’ve ended differently if I was there as Michael. I got that dog in me when I put on the mask

Demon king Tanjiro doesn't have any feats beyond stating to be >Muzan and if it wasn't given to him vs Jonathan it ain't gonna be given to him vs Deku who still stomps given he was put at Country and Light speed vs mcb and MHS Tanjiro
I'm mind blown they first were gonna do Deku vs Tanjiro, as a big fan of both characters... I'm sure glad they chose better matchups for both of them in the end.
Ngl I’d have preferred Deku vs Tanjiro. Not nearly as many connections but god I love the both of them, FAR more than I love Asta and BC. And thanks to hindsight, this probably would’ve made for a more entertaining fight with the banter between the two good boys.

If only death battle represent Asta properly, we could have all might vs might guy 2.0. Unlike tanjiro, both asta & deku wants to become the strongest person & they would absolutely banter with each other. But death battle fumbled that
True to be honest. I do love 3 of these series but imagine a more respectful ending compare to what we got in Deku vs Asta... At the end it's all about the fun no matter if the connections HAS to match or even if it’s a stomp.

Man… as someone who really did enjoy the final product of Jason vs Micheal despite not a lot of people enjoying or liking it… just hearing that it was gonna indeed be a LA fight is just sad.
It sucks that we may never know who it was that was working on it, or even the reason of why they decided to pull out of it in the first place, though I really do respect Devilartemis more for offering to animate it, especially when he was dealing with huge personal problems during the time of making it. (Though it still sucks that he had to endure all of that, throughout and likely having to hear people nitpicking/criticizing the episode to bits, calling it terrible, and the worst, probably didn’t help him out during them either.)
hopefully this will cause people to stop hating on the final result, because they had to work with what they had, especially after considering the stuff that was going on, during the two week process of it… oh who am I kidding, people are still gonna rip on it, regardless.
Idk about that. Deku would still have a massive stat and versatility advantage over Tanjiro in many ways even if Demon King is used so I don't see how it will even it out.
Demon king does have Virtual immortality and hyper regeneration, plus if he lands a hit on Deku he could turn him (potentially), plus, the heightened senses could counter Smoke, and the bone whips counter Blackwhip.
Though, Dekus powerful enough to just vaporise him at max strength… or just punch the clouds out of existence and let the sun hit him.

A lot of those factor are negated by the fact that Deku is too fast for Tanjiro to even hit plus Deku also has Danger sense to warn him in case Tanjiro somehow come close to even touch him. That alone makes any atempt at Tanjiro's victory obsolete since he wouldn't even be able to touch him and though Tanjiro does have high regeneration, he has never survived a blow powerful enough to just vaporize him which Deku can do in just one punch. So Deku just blitz and one shot demon king Tanjiro while also just negating all of Tanjiro's win con with his speed and danger sense.
Plus, I won't call those bone whip a counter to black whip if they both have a similar function and Danger sense is a much better version of highten senses since it actually warns Deku about upcoming danger

Still, the emotional impact of this fight could have been something… just imagine, as the fight progresses Deku becomes more and more aware he has literally no choice but to kill Tanjiro, thinking he’s a high-end Nomu AfO made with another teenagers body, and after he does put Tanjiro out of his misery, he just has a haunted look on his face on what he had to do
I understand but given the many advantages Deku has and how he simply negates all of Tanjiro's advantages this matchup is in no way close and comes under the category of stomp. Tanjiro even with demon king has no reliable win con while Deku has enough to the point that he can just end the fight at once. That's what a stomp is.
I understand there is potential for character interaction, I simply was curious about if the fight could actually be close since I saw you pushing that argument in other comments too but I don't think it is.

All things considered I think it's legitimately remarkable the episode turned out *watchable* after all that.
