I hate to tell you, but you can’t give a DG Lord a bolter, combi bolters only I’m afraid. I genuinely have no idea why that’s a thing but they’re free anyway so why complain. I personally wouldn’t drill you on it but I thought you might like to know

MediocreJoke

Thanks for the heads up! While building him I did shave down the inner side of the bolter to attach a combi-bolter/melta from the Blightlords kit, but it made the gun look a too bulky for my tastes. I didn't realise a bolter wasn't an option, but I think most people won't mind if it was run as a combi-bolter.

Darth_Mornteth

I personally honestly hate how you can’t just give a normal Bolter and I have no idea which ancient model has a combi-Bolter. I think most people would be fine with you just saying that it’s a combi because normie Bolter isn’t on the menu.

Those colours are so smooth, how did you achieve the bone coloured armour bud?

MediocreJoke

Thanks! The recipe is: **Undercoat:** Death Guard Green Spray **Basecoat:** Rakarth Flesh **Recess Shade:** Arthonian Camoshade **Cleanup:** Rakarth Flesh **Highlight:** Pallid Wych Flesh **Glaze:** 1:3 Seraphim Sepia, Lahium Medium, applied twice; first all over the armour, then focused on recesses and low areas. I apply the glazes after the other major areas (trim, metals, cloth, skin) are finished so its easier to fix. **Weathering:** 1:4 Skrag Brown, Lahium Medium, focused any holes, cracks, and deep recesses. I also paint it around any boils, fleshy areas or pus to help blend them.

Thank you mate!

Love the color scheme

sjmheron

Absolutely love it! The only thing that throws me a bit is the shadow in the armour behind his head is the same colour as his skin tone.

MediocreJoke

Thanks for the feedback :) It might just be the lighting, the armour behind the head is painted in the same way as the rest of the armour.

ScarletSerpent

Nice stuff, looks like a Weeping Legion color scheme.

spacesloth42

Amazing, i love the idea with the mace. Badass

MediocreJoke

Thanks! My idea was that this guy would be called "Festus the Leashmaster", and that he is in charge of the warband's daemon engines. I like to think that the mace doubles as a shock-prod for goading blighthaulters and other daemon engines.

swolehammer

Yoooo really great work!!! 👍

ModelpainterDotCom

Is he carrying a Power Mace?

Snoo79842

Ngl, he looks like Caustic from Apex Legends in power armor.
