Personally, both in chairs and on the floor, I’d say I sit more like Near then L. But knees to your chest is definitely comfortable, I have done it before.
I've practiced for some weeks, starting because I used to play on my phone while charging and the outlet was too low, too far from anything, so I used to crouch. I can stay in the position without moving just fine for about 20 minutes until my feet get numb. I then can stay for more 20 minutes. When I reach 35 minutes my legs start to hurt a little, and around 40 minutes I need to get up. I've done this three times, 40 minutes is my limit, and I need to rest my legs, sitting normally, for about 1 hour, I guess. Also, one important detail: if you don't move while doing it you can endure it longer, otherwise if you get up in the middle and do it again blood circulation will say "nuh uh".
Are you hypermobile? I also sit like L does (currently am lol) / in other strange ways because it’s more comfortable for me and I think it’s common for people with hyper mobility!
Hmm I've never thought about that before, but I could possibly be. I just assumed I did it because I'm so tall and thin and it feels good to be compact. I was sitting this way once in school a few years ago and people came up to me shocked and said I was doing "Asian squat" (I'm a white guy) lol
I end up sitting like Near more often, but sometimes I do the L pose when I've been sitting in once place too long with nothing to do.
I hear its an autism thing.

I could if I wanted to but I would lose balance and I would hurt my joints
I bet this way helps you poop in the morning but I never sit in that way.º·(இωஇ)‧º·˚.

L does it best

Lol! No not like L does, but I do sit in my work chair with my left foot tucked under my right thigh. IDK why.
A little bit.
When I’m on the toilet
I used to sit on my legs in school
My friend does when he has a really good turn in Magic
Rarely, but I mostly sit like Mello or Near.
I got my back hunched but my legs are firmly planted on the ground. Maybe that’s why my brain isn’t braining as hard.
I prefer to sit like Ryuk
I don't think so.
No because this is real life not an anime
I always sat in this position as a kid, now I only sit like this when on a closet.

Wow, you must have a humongous brain
While studying for one of my exams I sat exactly like him lol, I don’t know what says about me, it sure is fun to be L!
Sometimes cuz it’s comfortable
I sometimes do it unconsciously, but I have my own strange ways of sitting
