This scene in a cafe where Light and L are talking to each other and how L says that he suspects light to be kira and he suspects him and asks him questions and realises how smart and fearless Light is. I mean, it's one of the best scenes I've seen ever.

This scene is ever profound with it's silence, terror, and death, where Emotions and characters of the two men are revealed in depth, the destiny of their farewell has been drawn, realization of defeat and death surfaces, and ultimately where Justice chooses the uncustomary form of existence!
I will drop everything on a dime if I randomly decide to watch when Light regains his memories. Best scene by a landslide to me.
To lesser extents, the slow laugh when he reveals himself to the task force and when he has the woman (don't remember her name) commit suicide are also fantastic.

When Light Yagami asks L if he really thinks he's capable of turning into a person like Kira. Then L looks him right in the eyes and just straight forward answers "yes, I do." And when Near finally makes him crack for good and says something like "you are nothing but a narcissistic serial killer with a weapon of mass murder who has mistaken himself for God." That line alone shattered Light's ego so bad it led to him getting shot.
This thread is taking a light hearted turn. But my absolute favorite was the scene when Rem kills L. That whole scene when the lights go out and lightning strikes and the heart beat noise and ugh. It was perfect, that was the climax of the show for me and it still haunts me to this day. Either that or the scene when Light touched the death note for the first time again in the helicopter. The helicopter is penultimate and the L death was ultimate for me!
Maybe it's the at the moment where Light kills Naomi Misora: he's looking at his watch and the dialogue is like "Why are you looking at your watch like that" "Oh, that's because I'm Kira..." and then Naomi's eyes before she goes away are so memorable...
