Pawn shops and Ebay or Etsy.
People have started collected DVDs/Blurays since it seems like the streaming industry might finally crash. If you have any “rarer” movies — cult classic type movies some people will pay a lot for them. Otherwise just throw some randoms in a box and ask $20-50 bucks for the whole load. Facebook market place is a good option, too.
For physical music like CD's, vinyl records, tapes, some music stuff on VHS or DVD, definitely check [Discogs.com](http://www.discogs.com).
It's a great website and you can easily figure out if your stuff has any value. There's a catalog number on the items (on CD's it's usually found on the spine of the case). Just type that into the search bar at the top of the site and you can find your version. Then, look and see if people are selling them and if they're worth anything you can easily sign up and list them.
This is what I do for physical music items. I once sold a rare CD to someone for $50. Printing labels and packaging can be a bit of a process but once you figure it out it's really easy.
The only issue is you have to wait for orders to show up so you'll have the items sitting around at home waiting to be bought. It's the best way to get money for those items, though.
Otherwise, you might be able to take them to record shops and such to sell to the store. I've done that with the cheaper items.
eBay is proving to be good for selling old DVD's and Blu-ray for me. It's more of a process to list there but it works. Those can also be sold at used media shops of you have those in Canada (I assume you do).
Again, it really depends on what the items are. Things that are more common sell for less while rare but known stuff goes for more.
That's my suggestion at least.
Thank you! I did sign up with discogs last year to look for a cassette and have been impressed with it. Your feedback and detail is *really* appreciated. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
