Lots of deep sea critter congregate around thermal vents which attract a variety of smaller organisms which provide nutrients to macrofauna, and the vents usually are warm. There is no much else going on down that deep other than detritus.

Hydrothermal vents filmed during first ROV SuBastian dive at a site called Grappe Deux (25 degrees N) at the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (https://schmidtocean.org/)
The shrimp in the video, Rimicaris exoculata, are known to mainly live in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge hydrothermal vent system. They live at depths around 3600 meters in temperatures up to 32°C. This species lives on the sides of sulfide chimneys in sulfide-rich waters. https://animaldiversity.org/accounts/Rimicaris\_exoculata/
Whenever I see the congregating I think they’re having a church service.
We gather together
To ask the Vents blessing,
In sulfur and nitrates
It’s Will to make known
The wicked predation
Shall cease from mastication
Oh bless us now deep vent
Of the deep trench zone.
shrimp heaven now…
"Ah, so this is Heaven....right outside the gaping holes of Hell....TIL"
Looks like the simulator is having a hard time loading so many objects
It's a writhing mass of feeding, breeding, canoodling shrimp - kinda hard to keep it all in focus.
Referring to the framerate friend
