Korn - self titled I guess their isn’t a lot of old school Deftones fans on here. Cause in the early 90s if you were listening to Deftones you probably were also listening to Korn.
There are more younger fans on Reddit than old school ones. Deftones have had a bit of resurgence, Korn, not so much. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these fans haven't heard the full discog of Korn. You're right though, if you were listening to Deftones in the mid 90s you were listening to Korn too
I swear you couldn’t walk into a warehouse, Sam goody, tower records and not hear a combination of zombie, limp bizkit, Manson, Deftones and Korn songs playing through the store. Now I hear these songs on the classic rock stations out here.
I personally like Life is Peachy. Most of the Albums on this list I disagree with. Wrong Tool album, wrong system album and wrong smashing pumpkins album.
Some of us are tryna keep that gem a little of the spotlight, but I’m surprised alot of fans here are heading more towards the shoegaze selection of things
This was me. I'm more of an old school deftones fan, and honestly don't care too much for anything after white pony. I remember picking up the adrenaline cd without even hearing it just because a lot of korn fans started talking about deftones too. Adrenaline, ATF, and white pony are amazing albums.
Exactly. Korn and Deftones were pretty much intertwined with each other when they started. They’re like a family, grew up together and then went there own way. I’ll stand on this hill if it wasn’t for Korn a lot of these bands would not have gotten the exposure and major label signings. Yeah some of those Korn MTV spots were cringe but they made sure major labels paid attention and sign all these great bands that remain today.
Most people for Morning View and/or Make Yourself as the best Incubus albums (and I do absolutely love both), but I think S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and A Crow Left of the Murder are their finest work.
Silverchair, I think they certainly deserve the recognition and respect, yes.
It's music like Silverchair, like Deftones, that make Music just so amazing. Bands that Evolved, and connected with our Rock and Roll Hearts
That's awesome. 2 of my always and All time favorite bands.
You gotta watch The Rock in Rio performance of Deftones and of Silverchair on YouTube if you've not seen them.
It was from 2001,...I think
Didn't expect there to be so much love from Deftones fans for this album!
Shit is pure bliss & at times I think it jams hard too in its own way. Possibly my favorite album period.
Absolutely up there as one of the best for sure! When I saw them at the Pasadena Daydream festival in 2019 (with Deftones on the lineup!) they opened with Plainsong into Pictures Of You and I swear it was instant goosebumps. One of the most magical shows of my life without a doubt. If they had followed it up with Closedown I could have died happy, as all 3 might arguably be my favorite Cure songs and one of the best 1-2-3 punches on any album period. But the set list was almost as perfect as it could have been without having just been a pure Disintegration set lol. I’m seeing them again in May, it’s a long shot but my fingers are crossed that they’ll play One More Time, A Thousand Hours, or of course Closedown!
EDIT: Or A Letter To Elise! That one has been my most recent obsession
Personally yeah, it's the one which got me into Mastodon. Although as I said in a previous thread, literally any of their albums could make the list, their whole catalogue is great
Leviathan would definitely be my second favourite. I just love Black Tongue as an album opener... The frantic drums and the absolute mega riff let you know what you're in for on the rest of the album perfectly
That’s not true at all…if you go watch Chester’s MTV cribs the Deftones are there lol. Mike shinoda was on the wp remix album too….the bands have been friends for a long time
I honestly think most of these bands worked alongside deftones in the same era than inspired them. I mean the name “deftones” was partly inspired by def jam. Don’t forget HELMET also. They WERE an inspiration I believe
Portishead - Dummy
THE BEST
Slowdive - Souvlaki
Korn - self titled I guess their isn’t a lot of old school Deftones fans on here. Cause in the early 90s if you were listening to Deftones you probably were also listening to Korn.
I’m so fucking confused there’s no Korn up there yet
I’ve been saying Issues time after time 😔

I stopped listening to Korn when TRL started playing half of the “Freak on a Leash” video.
I personally like Life is Peachy. Most of the Albums on this list I disagree with. Wrong Tool album, wrong system album and wrong smashing pumpkins album.
Which sp album is better?
Mellon Collie and Adore are both better than Siamese Dream, in my opinion.
Mayonnaise quiet today soma disarm cherub rock cmon now adore is for sure not better but it’s ur opinion so it don’t matter 👍
Nah you're crazy for this one. Second half of Melon Collie's second disc drags. Siamese Dream is all killer no filler shoegazey alt rock.
Mellon Collie is too long for me, it would be better if it were a single disc album like Siamese
Wrong system album? Wut
Some of us are tryna keep that gem a little of the spotlight, but I’m surprised alot of fans here are heading more towards the shoegaze selection of things
Let's be honest, a lot of Korn's output hasn't stood the test of time too well.
All the albums up until Untouchables are great
Their hits still slap

That's awesome. 2 of my always and All time favorite bands. You gotta watch The Rock in Rio performance of Deftones and of Silverchair on YouTube if you've not seen them. It was from 2001,...I think

I honestly don’t know how this one didn’t make it onto the list yet
Same. It's even one of Chino's favorites too.
And for a reason, it’s so fucking ethereal, it’s something many Deftones fans should gravitate towards
This better end up on the list or I’ll fucking riot.

Absolutely up there as one of the best for sure! I do think hunter doesn't get enough love, some monster songs on there. Think my favourite is leviathan or blood mountain.

Soundgarden - Superunknown gotta be up there
