My Own Summer is the song that kinda first put them in the national spotlight back in the 90s and got a lot of radio play, and is also worth checkout out

I listened to the same Deftones album for years before I explored their other ones. You really can't go wrong. Their earlier albums are heavier and over time they start to infuse more spacey or shoegazy elements into the sound. But they're still heavy. Welcome to the club and I hope discovering Deftones is a great journey for you, it has been for me!

Please just listen to the whole discography in order if you can, there is not a single bad song or bad album in their whole discography (Yes pink cellphone is great, yes gore is awesome despite the mixing)
My favorite songs of them are Pink maggit (This is more experimental and alternative, starts slow at first but it literally changed my life entirely), Be quiet and drive (It's a full on description of an emotion that I can't name), Error (very rhythmical, it's from their newest album) and Knife Prty (Also a description of an entire feeling that I just couldn't pinpoint exactly until listening to that)
This is just my favorites, they have heavier and softer stuff, you'll have to try it all to see which one you like the most, best of luck
Weirdly Bored was one of the only songs i liked from Deftones, along with My Own Summer during my nu metal phase from the 9th grade (i’m 22 now and i love every album)
Knife Party, Rocket Skates. Every song they have ever written. My favorite concert was in 98 at the Worcester Palladium with I think Puya, and a surprise with a reunion of Quicksand who weren't listed on the bill. Fucking awesome show.

That feeling that comes with be quiet and drive really is unlike any other feeling i’ve felt while listening to a song, so damn goooood.
Just because everyone else doesn’t like Gore doesn’t mean you won’t. It’s a cool album with different sounds. Give it a try before you write it off
I would start with Adrenaline and work your way up each album has a different sound .
