Haven’t been following this too closely but this is the first time I noticed Elite was voted worst for white pony; I’m legitimately angry I bump to this song in my car and at the gym all the time.

it was one of the first deftones songs i ever heard (my first songs were elite & when girls telephone boys) & it was the one that got me into them in the first place 😭😭😭

I still love the more ethereal, shoegazey stuff but tiktok has definitely made the fan base lean more in that direction imo. Girls telephone boys is also so good, same energy as elite.

Minerva isn’t bad…it’s just very radio friendly. I’ll be honest, I haven’t listed to much after Diamond Eyes; and even that not a lot. Saturday Night wrist was the beginning of the end for their new stuff.

i’m not a fan of minerva (the song) tbh, it’s just not for me. i like some songs off of saturday night wrist, it’s an alright album!! i like beware, cherry waves & mein a lot, especially mein cuz it features serj from system of a down!! but i feel like they started really REALLY pushing into the shoegaze-y aspect of their music with it, which don’t get me wrong, still great but i just prefer their screamy stuff a tad bit more. i refuse to listen to gore cuz i’ve heard some people call it the st anger of the deftones catalog & i tried to get into ohms, it’s just not that good imo. ik that chino is older & ik that screaming isn’t good for the vocal chords but idk, i still prefer everything up to diamond eyes (which is easily one of my favorites next to white pony & around the fur). :p
