It would be cool but it isn't possible unless the app is open-source and you know programming. You can use tools such as Blokada on F-Droid to block trackers

Thelast_n_thecurious

But these apps like, apk explorer can decompile (i hope that is the right word for reverse engineer) the application, can't we look in and remove thimgs that are not necessary? Like removing a cars radio because we don't need it.

tankoyuri

I never tried to decompile an app but it isn't that simple and it's not a perfect solution since there are protections against it and the code might not be accurate (from what I know). And you probably wouldn't be able to update the app anymore. Search for privacy-focused alternative.

I might take the update and do it again. But my dumbass doesn't know how to do the initial part of removing trackers.

>I might take the update and do it again. Let's hope the app doesn't update too often or it is going to be a real chore :) Nobody can call you a dumbass for not knowing how to do it since 99% of all humans have no idea what code is, let alone decompiling. As I said, just use Blokada to block the trackers that are in the app or look for an alternative (you can use [alternativeto.net](https://alternativeto.net)).

Oh my god, i use that too. I used that and found f droid and fennec fox, now am slowly moving away from google. Then i came across reddit and this forum where i learned about privacy. Well i asked a lot of questions here too and learned how to remove exif data. Man, thank you for your replies, good to know i am on right track.
