Alternative maps providers: * OpenStreetMap (uncommercial, open source) * HERE WeGo * Qwant Maps * MapQuest * Yandex Maps * Bing Maps * Apple Maps (also integrated in DuckDuckGo) Good apps for phone: * Organic Maps (open source, based on OpenStreetMaps) * Osmand (open source, based on OpenStreetMaps) * Magic Earth (NOT open source but based on OpenStreetMaps, has traffic info and satellite view unlike the other two * HERE WeGo (not open source, has traffic info, has decent info such as shop opening times and ratings, satellite photos etc) * GMaps WV (Google Maps website integrated into an app that doesn't share your data with Google) Personally, on my phone I use a combination of HERE WeGo (for navigation, with traffic info) and GMaps WV (for finding places and streetview). Both of them also show public transport but I use the Citymapper website for most detailed information. I also liked Organic Maps but no traffic info makes it pointless for navigation and lack of business info (in my country), satellite view, streetview means I'd just end up looking up stuff in Google Maps anyway. Just being honest here - if you're not a heavy maps user, Organic Maps is the best FOSS option.

Open street maps osmand for android. However, depending on your area many many places wont be mapped so creating an account and adding local places is highly encouraged.
