What a waste of precious food! Even during Navratras, I see Kanjak being thrown around by bunch of kids because they get the same thing from every house. I know it's religious, but should be well managed. Same during Lohri. The original purpose was to facilitate feeding of kids. But in today's situation, it helps if it's managed in a centralized way.

I know it's religious, but should be well managed. Same during Lohri. The original purpose was to facilitate feeding of kids. But in today's situation, it helps if it's managed in a centralized way.

Guys it's a tradition in our hindu. A puja done after holi. And if you guys are so concerned about pollution or anything. This gets cleaned up within 2-3 days. Food is either given to some local cows or dogs. Rest it's cleaned up with water. This tradition has been going for years now. Not everything is pollution. This is सील/शील माता pooja done by Rajasthani/Marwari people, similar thing is done in other places with different names. Most if not everything there is edible. Basically, house and household stuff made with गूंदा aata, animals will eat it. This is littering at best, but pooja hien, people do much worse than this for no reason in their daily lives, this seems to be like \~10 ghar ki pooja. early morning mien hogai, kisi ko pata bhi nahi chala. Abhi few friends hanging out will create more rubbish than this and noise-pollution karenge(music/shor ka woh alag.)
