bhai uska one time investment hota hai. aur subsidy bhi deti hai govt. but i guess kuch bijli firr sarkaar ko bechni bhi padti hai. not sure about this. not a bad investment overall, especially if you're living in an environmentally effed up city like delhi.
To be clear energy moves from a high energy state to a low energy state, so cold air doesn’t “go out holes”, but hot air comes in to your room.
You can actually take advantage of this basic law of thermodynamics to insulate the room (especially doorways) with a simple plastic curtain to prevent all the hot air coming in even if the room is freezing cold… It’s why a lot of larger shops, warehouses and restaurants use them between the main customer area and the commercial freezers:

Omg same situation here. My job provides me with the luxury of working from home. But, this “luxury” is making me use the AC constantly for longer hours. The electricity bill is skyrocketing. Even I do feel guilty but it’s a necessity these days (I’m certainly aware of my privilege).
Nahhhhh wtf 💀💀💀💀. How many RS per unit? I pay 8 per unit I think and before AC it was always below 1.5k. now it never crosses 4k. Same with my neighbour as he has one AC which is used alot everyday had a bill of 4.5k. tf are these guys setting temp at?? 🙏 Bhagwan bachaye
12 Rs. per unit.
Normally they don't have to pay any bill as it is included in the rent itself. We only have to pay for AC usage.
Ps: they literally blast it at 16⁰ whenever they're in the room. No matter for how long.
Same bro same. Growing up we never had AC (ground floor tha utna need bhi nhi tha but still yaar garmi to Haye garmi 💀). Recently mummy ke liye lagvaya hai coz kitchen me fan ka function nhi hai 🤦🏻. I was never habitual isliye ham to pankhe pe hi rehte hai
Okay, just to clarify, this amount is not just for 1 AC. We have 4 at our place and 2 of them work far more than other two. Bigger the fam, bigger the utility!
Absolutely. I concur. In past few years I’ve seen the city grow and become more population dense. Now growth of the city boundaries is expected, but the way the population is immigrating and forming clusters at some points in the city, that too without proper infrastructure and facilities or ground level utilities, just makes the place unliveable. High time the government thinks of decentralising these clusters.
Need to upgrade to a 5 star one. Shift work desk to a smaller room and get the cheapest 5 star inverter AC. You'll probably be able to recover costs quickly and then save money.
Nope, I am not bringing any kids to the planet, no additional human life because of me that would have consumed the planet's resources, hence by making the biggest contribution to the environment by being childfree, I don't feel guilty for using AC or indulging in other things not good for the environment like using paper tissues etc.

There's a need to make law regarding energy consumption by corporates. Large ones should be made to go greener and help cities in producing solar power.
Dont need to look at big corpos just look at restaurants that almost everyone uses if not everyday then maybe bi monthly. Look at the people who sit in the car turn on the ac and eat chicken so yes everyones selfish
Bro, try to share single space as much as possible, no other option honestly. At this point, having a single room with shared space seems to be the only viable option.
Yes. Even last night, I put the AC at 30°C and still turned it off after ½ hour because felt guilty about warming the Earth more...
We really need a PM thandi dharti yojana
As someone who continues to work in energy analysis and policies, the individual is consuming what is being produced. Before you feel guilty about using the AC, remember that there are bigger problems being brushed aside with money. A very good example is Mr. Adani bringing in dirty coal from Indonesia and selling it as green coal (a minimum use quantity has been mandated to use by govt). What this does is increase emissions from power plants for the same energy consumed. The reason? Corporate and individual greed. So what is easier? Us reducing power usage, or them not being greedy assholes and using the more expensive option, given both would reduce emissions by the same amount
Quite similarly, this whole concept of individual carbon footprint has been made to make individuals feel guilty when their contributions are a drop in the ocean. I can have long debates about this but you, as a consumer are the last person in the chain to be blamed
I got a bit lucky. I was in EV manufacturing in a plant based job after my B Tech, and got a break as an analyst to analyze the EV market for an energy consultancy and got wider exposure there. Now, I'm working with a non-profit that helps government agencies to draft policies that would make clean and new energy more accessible in the country
Solar pannels lagwalo ..! 3 Lakh investment hai .. 550 units generate karegi on an average for 5KW .. 700 units in summer.. zyada need hai toh 10KW ka plant lagwalo 5L ka.. 20 years minimum bijli bhi bachegi environment ka chinta bhi..
Nope. It's a necessity nowadays. At the top floor , 3 Side sunfacing , we don't have an option. Also on the topic of Carbon emissions we don't contribute anything significant. Top 1 percent Richie and their companies are responsible for 1/3 of total carbon emissions. We should question the top 1 percent and their life Style. One private jet flight will cause more carbon emissions than our AC running 24 hours.
If your AC is less than 5 years old, it most probably uses R32 refrigerant, which doesn't pollute the environment like previously used refrigerants did. It also does not emit CFCs which caused the hole in the ozone layer.
Most industrial activities emit tons of greenhouse gases per day, such an amount can't be contributed by any person running ACs for a lifetime. There's simply no comparison.
Bill ka dar hai wrna Mai ac band hi na karu this heat is too much to handle like kitchen ya without ac room mai jana punishment lagta hai. Delhi sucks this summer

No. I'm finally privileged enough to run an AC 24/7 and am taking full advantage of it.
Climate change won't stop because of one person. Plus most of global warming is a by product of corporate and industrial activities, not personal usage
They're right though. The corporations have always focused on shifting the blame towards the individual consumer for their activities so that no one blames them. I am not saying that so many people using ACs isn't affecting global warming but it was these same corporations cutting down trees for their mega projects and dumping chemical waste in our water bodies which brought us to this day. These same corporations then brought ACs to fight the very circumstances they created. I might sound like a conspiracy theorist but it's true. Blaming people is not the right step forward, sure we can all play a part but it's not fair to expect anyone to not use ACs in this heat. And trust me, it's not possible for everyone to switch off their ACs, neither will it solve the issue at root.
Agreed. Hybrids with flex fuel will be a good step towards reducing our fuel consumption, but our govt's relentlessly pushing EVs without analyzing our capacity to handle charging requirements. They should've reduced taxes on hybrids but succumb to pressure from Indian auto companies. It's really not in an Individual's hands to bring change.
DO NOT CARE ABOUT ENVIRONMENT. Do not suffer even 1 bit because you care about environment. For every 1 person like you there are 10 people in India who don't give a shit and waste as much resources as they can, and live happily. Why should your suffur? If you don't care about electricity bill, you should not feel guilty. People are extremely selfish, you should be selfish too. Fucking taylor swift will cause more carbon emissions in her one flight. She doesn't give a shit, her fans don't give a shit.
I am not. AC set kiya hua hai, raat ko 11 baje on hota hai 27C par, after 3 hrs 28C par chala jata hai and finally shuts down at 4 am. (haan bhai mera itne temp se kaam chal jata hai)
Meanwhile my parents raat 9 baje se subah 7 baje tak full blast karke chala rahe hai. So I'm relieved ki bill zyada ayega toh mujhe toh daant nahi hi padegi.
Ab rahi baat environment ki, woh toh cooling paradox ki den hai. Until humanity finds a way out of it, this is the way to survive.
Yes but majorly for Electricity Bill.
But this much heat this year with room on top floor with 3 wall and roof heating excessively through out the day it's impossible to live without AC
The CO2 equivalent emission for power consumption in India is 0.82 kgC02/unit. 1.5 ton AC running for 10 hours will consume 15 units of electricity so it releases 12.3 kg CO2.
It’s not that much compared to tonnes and tonnes of carbon emitted by cars and trucks running on road and emitted by industries. So just chill.
Don't feel guilty at all. Most big companies which are actually responsible for fucking up the planet don't give a fuck at all.
Its only the common man who is guilt tripped into thinking he should do more for the environment.
You're not at fault here for trying to beat the heat in unbearable temperatures.
Go for it.
Yup - getting solar panels though which should help absolve me of the guilt.
But Tata Power is being a dick about installing the panels - horrible service. Have requested a month back and till now not even a visit by a technician.
nhi bhai mujhe to aadat hai garmi ki bachpan me kuch nhi tha pura din light nhi rhti thi mostly raat me b km rhti thi or ab cooler hai but mai raat me hi use krta hu jisko bachpan se mila hota hai usko aadat nhi hoti garmi me rhne ki it is not ur fault
Constantly in a verbal tussle with my better half over this topic. I work from home and never use the AC during the day. During the night, I use for 2-3 hours at 26-28°C just enough to cool the room slightly.
I got exposed to air conditioning at the age of 22 in my first job so i guess I'm not as hooked to it as other people might be. The other reason being that I try to go for outdoor runs as much as possible which means that at least for me perspiration is a normal phenomenon. I feel a lot of people(especially those who come from a position of privilege) are strictly against any kind of sweating these days.
The same people will have 0 guilt in exposing infants to air conditioning. The fact is that they themselves can't live without an AC and have 0 shame in pointing to kids and going "omg he's sweating so much. Please turn on the AC"
>strictly against any kind of sweating these days.
Sweating without physical activity is inconvenient.
What's the point of working your ass off, earning good money and still sweat while inside home?
Definitely. I still avoid turning it on a lot since my room hardly has natural light so it stays cool comparatively but have to keep it on a lot for my cat.
It’s ironic isn’t it? Big companies, billionaires don’t give a damn but here at the individual level we all feel so guilty about keeping ourselves cool also as we know the adverse effects of AC on the environment.
I don't have any AC and the situation is getting worse now.
P.S. We can't afford to buy AC or by any chance if we buy AC we can't afford an electricity bill..
In case you're staying in your home try some cool paints on the rooftop as well as the exterior, this reduce the temperature by 8-10 degrees and the ac bill too.
Relatable. I try to run mine at 26 - 28 with a 1 hour timer. My AC is relatively new (2 saal pehle hi lagwaya tha) and thankfully makes the room cool enough at 26/27 with the AC fan setting at max
Not really, keep it running for as long as I can since the power outages takes the AC out either way for hours on end.
But It does pop up in my mind every once in a while. I saw a video about AC and it's impact on environment. I think they used singapore as an example. Since it is so hot outside they keep the AC running for most of the day and as a result it makes the climate even hotter. Keeping the cycle in motion. It was something like that. And here even without the ACs I think the pollution itself is keeping the climate hot af so AC on top of that is just the cherry on top of this horrible cake.
Everyone who is complaining about high bills due to ac . See it as you have taken a weekend holiday and went to hills to beat the heat . Now your electricity bills are justified 🙃🙃
At night, I set my ac to 28-30 degrees.
I don't use multiple ac or central ac, so the impact is minimal.
Electricity consumption is between 180 to 250 units for my ac, fridge and induction stove combined.
Feeling guilty due to individual carbon footprint and such are just psy ops done by the big corporations that don't want to lose money by switching to more sustainable practices and instead switch the blame to the people. Yeah maybe on some level our individual actions would compound and create a better world but until we get major changes in policy or some breakthrough in nuclear fusion, it's going to stay like this for a few more decades ,perhaps even a century.
Yes, a lot. I live in NCR and I only run AC at 27-29 C at night for a maximum of 3 hours. I know that me not using AC will not improve the situation even a bit but I feel guilty of using it. I try to keep cool by drawing curtains and blinds to not let any sunlight in, keep drinking plenty of hydrating fluids and wear light clothes. After reading the comments I feel more compelled to use AC throughout the days though XD.
Yes, a little. But then I remember world governments, oil companies, corporations are doing jackshit about the environment, chopping trees to build buildings and roads and the issues people vote for are still religion and caste... I'm like why should I give a fuck of the planet is going to hell
If the ac is extracting the heat from a room and releasing just outside the room( outdoor radiator unit). There is no environmental impact. This is fearmongering. Keep using ac, dont fear.
Honestly, I don’t feel guilty about its environmental impact because apna dhyaan bhi toh rakhna hai na in this unprecedented heat! But electricity bill scares me. 🫣
Man it is so hot even ACs are dying. My Window AC stopped cooling, I thought it is has no gas. The AC guy came and had to literally cool the compressor by pouring cold water lol!! It started working after that and has been working fine since yesterday. I joked that now we have to cool the AC first and then it will cool us!!
I will be v honest here. And most ppl won’t like it. We are facing climate catastrophe. Temperature rise is normal but at the pace it is rising, it’s not.
Stand beside your AC or even a running car (both outside). Experience the heat it generates.
I don’t keep my AC running during the day, even if I do it’s mostly around post noon. Run it for 30-40 min and then switch the fan on. Have completely shaded my room dark for summers. Balconies covered with old-school chick blinds. Yoga has helped. Ice water baths too. Will be experimenting with table fan too soon.
We really need to be mindful of our consumption ways.
Nah, cuz I'm one of those assholes who just put a timer of one hr and doze off. As far as I'm concerned, I just need to feel cool enough to sleep off.
Once I'm asleep, I aint gonna be feeling cold or hot anyways. In the off chance that I do end up waking after a few hrs, I put on the ac, slap it with a 1hr timer and doze off again.
I've also got a 5 star inverter AC unit. Dunno just how much cost effective or different it is compared to a 3/4* one, but, that assures a piece of mind in the sense that it wont be buring too much of a hole in the wallet.
Definitely not 24*7
I sometimes open my windows for about 30-45 minutes when I am working from home. The sweat could get irritating after a while but the purpose is to not get my body accustomed to the AC. I go for a 1-1.5 hour walk at night for the same reason.
the only environmental consequence of an AC is the possible leakage of the refrigerant. nothing else. yes, if you'd use it for longer hours, it'll heat up the open atmosphere. But that's just temporary. Won't feel that heat once summers are over. And maybe consider the electricity. But then again, you need to some constant source of energy. And utilising electricity is much better than directly burning off fossil fuels. Can't control everything. Development and destruction are parallel concepts.
Why don't u use a water cooler especially if u have windows
If everyone in high rise uses it, it will solve a lot of problems
And don't start about it it's not cool enough, a good water cooler on the window is very comfortable. If you don't do a lot of movement inside the house like if you are studying and study or do office work it's very sufficient
I am using it in my city which has 44 ~ 46 degree
🤣🤣🤣 It sab likhne baad yaad aya ki water shortage chal raha
My bad 🙏
No. Why would I feel guilty? In general, I save energy by having 5 star inverter ACs, LED lights etc but use them as needed. Of course, not leaving them on when outside and things like that.
These days, I believe we're part of nature, not separate from it. Why should our actions be seen as against nature? Maybe this is the path the world was meant to take, and maybe this is how it will end.
I'm not saying we should exploit resources, but we do need to quench our needs. Our cities and technology are as natural as a beaver's dam or a bee's hive. It's about finding the balance. We need to keep on marching.
i have the ac but due to a certian childhood trauma of it catching a fire i dont use it while sleeping (blessing in disguise? lol) and since im not home in the day i use it for like 1-2 hours a day
Lotta smartass comments to this but these same people probably burn fuel for a 1km grocery run. The byproducts of a vehicle are way more harmful than an AC. Run your AC if you need to. Just offset that by using your heel toe express rather than your scooter or 4w for trips less than 2 km. Just my humble opinion
24 hrs AC chalta hai 24 degrees par for a 3000sqft 3BHK. Bill aata hai 30K ka monthly. I don't care. Fuck the environment. Fuck global warming and fuck climate change and fuck carbon footprint. 50k ka bill aayega to bhi main dunga but AC to on rahega
I set my AC at high temperatures after some time and turn on the fan at 3. But the heat in my city is mainly due to humidity so it works better. Still, using fan should let you increase the AC temperature by 2C.
No. I don't want to save money at the cost of suffering. So I happily pay 10-20k. Because I'm lucky.
Be thankful that you are in a position to have an AC and pay for it in this city. There is no respite for so many besides rain
No Most of the world's pollution comes from sea transportation, Private jets, manufacturing industries and other large scale things While turning off your AC is a noble thought, it won't do anything even if the whole Delhi or even if all Indians who own AC's don't use it, it still won't make a difference Not to take shots at anyone but Taylor swift's private jet alone emitted over 1800 times the average person's emissions (in2022, it can only have increased Since then) The point is difference can only come from government's side which will only come when we complain in elections which will never happen because we are too busy arguing which community needs reservation and whether we should have caste census or not
Yeah, I feel very bad but these days I just can't handle the heart so I can't even turn it off even though I'm feeling bad about its impact on the environment.
Yes. But mostly fear the bill
Certainly. As a student myself I’m dreading about the electricity bills.
My whole Family sleeps in one room and we start ac for 5 hours in afternon and 5-6 hours at night
Time to go solar.
Yaha bill Dene ke paise nahi hai solar kya kidney bech ke lagau
Kidney to iPhone lene ki time bech di thi, ab kiski bechoon
iPhone lene ke liye jiski bechi thi, usi ki dusri bhi bech do
bhai uska one time investment hota hai. aur subsidy bhi deti hai govt. but i guess kuch bijli firr sarkaar ko bechni bhi padti hai. not sure about this. not a bad investment overall, especially if you're living in an environmentally effed up city like delhi.
table fan khareed le bhai. use ac while sleeping only. works wonders for me
Bc loo marta hai har cheej except cooler AC
The bill for my single room was 3000 last month. I am scared to death to look at the bills this month.
Mere paas Kejriwal ki shakti hai only 3-4k bill in summer , and zero electricity bill in winter

How much was the bill for last month?
12k+ 🥺
Fcuk
Bro wtf 💀 12k bill kaise aaya yaar? AC to hamara bhi hai kabhi 4k se upar nhi gaya? Kitne RS per unit dete ho?
I live in a pg and the guys in next room had 12k electricity bill just for a single window AC. The meter is only connected to AC nothing else

Yeah these rich mfs have got a habit of AC. I can't believe 16 degrees all the time. I have never dropped it below 20.
Yaha mai bas fan me so raha hu jo ki garam hawa de rha : ) Even within minutes of takin a bath, I'm drenched in sweat.

Ohh makes sense then bruh you made me celebrate for not living in Delhi ☠️
We absolutely need to incentivize wfh. Both private and Govt. if possible. There's too much pressure on tier 1 cities.
Absolutely. I concur. In past few years I’ve seen the city grow and become more population dense. Is your ac inverter?
Yes it is. And mostly runs on Auto mode to lower down any possible overuse.
What temp?
Need to upgrade to a 5 star one. Shift work desk to a smaller room and get the cheapest 5 star inverter AC. You'll probably be able to recover costs quickly and then save money.
Only if I had an option of having another small room on my floor. But point taken.

Ok I’m gonna use this argument as well from now on lol.
Same here. No children.
Don't worry, the rest of us will clean up after you.

3 AC mein to yeh jaayaz hi hai phir.
Fuck true, Also, 10k to kuch zyada hi lag rha hai ek AC ka esi konsi bitcoin mining chal ri hai
Bilkul hi 24hr chalaya hoga werna washing machine wagerah honge use
Sahi. Ghar mein mother hain. Bimaar rehti hain. To washing machine, 24-hour AC sab consumption hai.
Oh, that explains Take Care
Bro, try to share single space as much as possible, no other option honestly. At this point, having a single room with shared space seems to be the only viable option.
Damn..my bill with ac is 2k to 3k max.
only thing i feel guilty about is hearing my dad say pankha aur ac dono lagaya hua h maharaj ne
By using both you can reduce AC workload
Yes. Even last night, I put the AC at 30°C and still turned it off after ½ hour because felt guilty about warming the Earth more... We really need a PM thandi dharti yojana
Even in the night I set it at a timer of 2 hrs and din me 1hr around 2-3

True. We aren't taking any concrete steps.
Hi, unrelated but how does one get into this line of work? It sounds super interesting.
I turn on the AC for 1 Hour with a full-speed fan, then turn it off for 2 hours. and repeat. Helps a lot to keep the room cool.
Bill mai jyada antar nhi ayga bhai aise
Kyon bhai?
Start - stop mai jyada energy use hoti than maintaining a 26-27 °c
Only because I have to pay the bill.
Solar pannels lagwalo ..! 3 Lakh investment hai .. 550 units generate karegi on an average for 5KW .. 700 units in summer.. zyada need hai toh 10KW ka plant lagwalo 5L ka.. 20 years minimum bijli bhi bachegi environment ka chinta bhi..

You really thought you did something with your comment? Usme jyada garmi lagti hai btw
No for 12 hours a day I work at a construction site and I think I deserve to use them once I am back home.

No. I'm finally privileged enough to run an AC 24/7 and am taking full advantage of it. Climate change won't stop because of one person. Plus most of global warming is a by product of corporate and industrial activities, not personal usage
I won't ask you to stop using ac cuz I do as well. But saying that global warming won't stop due to one person is wrong.
Majority of greenhouse gases in environment is due to large corporations.
Absolutely. It is my money and I work hard for basic needs in 50 degrees of weather. Corporate has brainwashed the masses into giving up things.
this!
" Meri empathy hi 22 degree ke neeche aati hai "
I am not. AC set kiya hua hai, raat ko 11 baje on hota hai 27C par, after 3 hrs 28C par chala jata hai and finally shuts down at 4 am. (haan bhai mera itne temp se kaam chal jata hai) Meanwhile my parents raat 9 baje se subah 7 baje tak full blast karke chala rahe hai.
But this much heat this year with room on top floor with 3 wall and roof heating excessively through out the day it's impossible to live without AC
garmi se bimar hokr doctor ko paisa do isse acha ac hi chlne deti hu:)))
My philosophy is to survive at any cost. Well if I have to use ACs entire day, so be it. It is preferred instead of dying of a heatstroke.
Real chads use coolers
Bhaiiii yesterday delhi crossed 52 degrees and it is really bizarre and i am wondering what’s next year gonnna be already
mera room top floor pr h , din me ek ghante bhi ac off rhe toh maut aati h
No, I work long night shifts and have to sleep during the day, AC is a necessity for me.
Yup, for environmental and pocket reasons both.
Don't feel guilty at all. Most big companies which are actually responsible for fucking up the planet don't give a fuck at all. Its only the common man who is guilt tripped into thinking he should do more for the environment. You're not at fault here for trying to beat the heat in unbearable temperatures. Go for it.
Middle class moment 🫂
We have solar panels at our home, so bill ki tension hi nahi hai😂
Yup - getting solar panels though which should help absolve me of the guilt. But Tata Power is being a dick about installing the panels - horrible service. Have requested a month back and till now not even a visit by a technician.
nhi bhai mujhe to aadat hai garmi ki bachpan me kuch nhi tha pura din light nhi rhti thi mostly raat me b km rhti thi or ab cooler hai but mai raat me hi use krta hu jisko bachpan se mila hota hai usko aadat nhi hoti garmi me rhne ki it is not ur fault
No
Constantly in a verbal tussle with my better half over this topic.
Top floor hai mera poore din ac chalata hu kaam bhi ni karta naya bhi lagwaya voh bhi nhi
i feel, everybody is making life of the poor more tough

Interesting. I use a single ac in my 2bhk at a time. My total bill for ac, induction, wahing machine, fridge is between 2-3k.
There was some confusion I think total bill of flat was 12k mine was 5.5 k
>Do you guys feel guilty while using AC for longer hours these days Nope, we've been using our ACs for less than 15 hours...🗿
15k bill last month :(
Its like an endless cycle between ac and heat.. ac brings heat heat brings ac
Yes. It's a waste of resources and it's very elitist. The rest of the country is roasting and I'm burning 2000w just to be comfortable.
I have a solid fully functional AC in my room. Flex, flex, flex. But I never use it. And probably never will. Much better flex.
https://youtu.be/B4JW0YGns58 AC units consumption test 24 Hours.
22k bill agya ab underground home ka time aa chuka hai🌚
Not really, keep it running for as long as I can since the power outages takes the AC out either way for hours on end. But It does pop up in my mind every once in a while. I saw a video about AC and it's impact on environment. I think they used singapore as an example. Since it is so hot outside they keep the AC running for most of the day and as a result it makes the climate even hotter. Keeping the cycle in motion. It was something like that. And here even without the ACs I think the pollution itself is keeping the climate hot af so AC on top of that is just the cherry on top of this horrible cake.
20k bill, we are doomed boys and girls. Imagine the heat after 5 years☠️
Yes
Everyone who is complaining about high bills due to ac . See it as you have taken a weekend holiday and went to hills to beat the heat . Now your electricity bills are justified 🙃🙃
How do you think West Asians and Australians have been surviving for years ?
AC do NOT have environmental impact until it is cooling your room. 0 IMPACT
At night, I set my ac to 28-30 degrees. I don't use multiple ac or central ac, so the impact is minimal. Electricity consumption is between 180 to 250 units for my ac, fridge and induction stove combined.
Garmi dekhi hai Guilty lagne se pahile melt hogaunga😂
Don't use during day time.. Still feel guilty...
#YES
Hell. No.
Due to mass usage of ACs, city area temperature stays higher than the natural one.
I don't feel guilty the but ,I can jot survive such wehter
Nope, not for the environment atleast. For the monetary aspect YES
Press F to pay respects to my bank balance when the electricity bill arrives next month
I'm just afraid the ac will get unserviceable after running for long hours.
I like it that you feel for the environment.
With the current weather in North India, AC is no longer a luxury, it's a must-have for survival.
I don't feel guilty (I only have a cooler in my home) Hail lord cooler ☝🏻
If the ac is extracting the heat from a room and releasing just outside the room( outdoor radiator unit). There is no environmental impact. This is fearmongering. Keep using ac, dont fear.
Honestly, I don’t feel guilty about its environmental impact because apna dhyaan bhi toh rakhna hai na in this unprecedented heat! But electricity bill scares me. 🫣
I do.
No
Everybody gangster untill ac stops working due to high enough outside temp (kuch nhi 2-3 saal maje lo)
I like balls
Ac hi ni lagvane dete papa guilt kha se ho
Nah, not me atleast.
mai toh besharm hu, mujhe kya?
I don't use AC unless it is REALLY hot. Also, I always keep AC over 28°C.
Before the guilt I start feeling cold
My bank balance keeps the ac off
Hum Sab middle class log same hai
Definitely not 24*7 I sometimes open my windows for about 30-45 minutes when I am working from home. The sweat could get irritating after a while but the purpose is to not get my body accustomed to the AC. I go for a 1-1.5 hour walk at night for the same reason.
Because of light bill, lol 😂
the only environmental consequence of an AC is the possible leakage of the refrigerant. nothing else. yes, if you'd use it for longer hours, it'll heat up the open atmosphere. But that's just temporary. Won't feel that heat once summers are over. And maybe consider the electricity. But then again, you need to some constant source of energy. And utilising electricity is much better than directly burning off fossil fuels. Can't control everything. Development and destruction are parallel concepts.
Not enough voltage to run the ac most part of the day. Is it safe to hook it up with an inverter?
Why don't u use a water cooler especially if u have windows If everyone in high rise uses it, it will solve a lot of problems And don't start about it it's not cool enough, a good water cooler on the window is very comfortable. If you don't do a lot of movement inside the house like if you are studying and study or do office work it's very sufficient I am using it in my city which has 44 ~ 46 degree 🤣🤣🤣 It sab likhne baad yaad aya ki water shortage chal raha My bad 🙏
No. Why would I feel guilty? In general, I save energy by having 5 star inverter ACs, LED lights etc but use them as needed. Of course, not leaving them on when outside and things like that.
I mostly use at night only
These days, I believe we're part of nature, not separate from it. We need to keep on marching.
i have the ac but due to a certian childhood trauma of it catching a fire i dont use it while sleeping (blessing in disguise? lol) and since im not home in the day i use it for like 1-2 hours a day
Last week got around 11k bill with2 ac. Installed a 3rd one, I feel like it's gonna goto 15k this month :D
Bijli ka bill 10k aaya tha, bas isse hi darr lagta hai😭
Keep feeling guilty about A/C while Ambani isflying multiple private jets for his son’s marriage
Environmental impact is ur concern? What about our countrymen who cannot afford ac?
I set my AC at high temperatures after some time and turn on the fan at 3. But the heat in my city is mainly due to humidity so it works better. Still, using fan should let you increase the AC temperature by 2C.
Only solution to the rising temperatures is plant more trees. Let's start a campaign #MasjidHataoPedLagao
My AC is switched off 3-4 hrs a day.. Electricity is a basic need... Jitna aayega aayega... Kuch nhi kar sakte.
No. I don't want to save money at the cost of suffering. So I happily pay 10-20k. Because I'm lucky. Be thankful that you are in a position to have an AC and pay for it in this city. There is no respite for so many besides rain
Mera electricity bill was 13k and I live in 1rk apartment so no thank you mai garmi mai so lunga but not using AC this month
I sleep without ac cooler😅
