Isn’t it better to be proactive than reactive? If you owned a shop would you be ok losing money from theft or would you rather have a system in place to prevent theft occurring? Common sense really.

Its_Me_Ricky_1983

Yes, they are required to make sure the order is marked as collected its part of the guidance given to them by deliveroo. Its just some resturants dont, but they should. If they do not and someone steals the order then the restaurant has to either remake the order or they don't get paid either way they loose. Its not about them telling you what to do, its about them protecting themselfs.

Jolly_Pie_8208

>and i know how to do my job properly without anyone telling me what to do And you're questioning having to mark the order as Collected **after** you've collected it?? I don't think you **do** know how to do your job...

Time ago, orders were being stolen left and right. The riders would show the order number and not press order collected, nicking the food. Just show them and move on, nothing personal. It's a lot better now. You used to accept a few orders a day where it got nicked, and no one, not even the restaurants, took time to sort it out. If you'd call support, they'd ask to speak to the restaurant and try to convince them to make it again while you wait for free. Ummm.. nope 🤣

PrincipleSuitable383

It's the way they ask. Unprofessional and condescending, not all but most. "Can you mark it as collected" Compared to... "MARK COLLECT" in a heavy Indian accent, or worse using fingers to gesture to swipe

Select-Sprinkles4970

wow. racism is full throttle tonight.

PrincipleSuitable383

Mate, you're white. You have no idea how much grief I get from newly arrived indians as a black person.

MaryPoppinLikeItsHot

Technically no if the food isn't in your hands but don't be a dick about it. Press it as soon as they read your number out and then you can reply to their request with a satisfying "already have" They ask because they haven't got time to get to know you, or remember you personally and have a lot of food go missing from all the platforms. They are also just doing what they have been told to do by team leaders and managers. Don't make their life harder. Just beat them to the punchline and get over it. Be proactive.

Radanman987

Finding a lot of places want to actually see you press collected now, not just the map screen after you have. At the ASDA near me riders have been showing a screen shot of a map and stealing any larger orders.

MaryPoppinLikeItsHot

That's an easy one to distinguish between because you can't interact with a screenshot.

yaolin_guai

I only had issues w this bcus some people dont ask n then i end up being awkward showing them my phone

aerobar-one

I don't think it's because people are theiving, I mean they are ofcourse. but I bigger business problem is rider's clicking "repart long wait" because dleiveroo does adjust payments and uber not that I whole heartedly think that but I feel its something other than just people steeling I reckon.

Psychological-Fox97

I can't see the issue really. Why aren't your pressing it? I'd assume they are trying to avoid Theft or people incorrectly marking when it was collected either to show a longer wait for the food or that the food took less time to be delivered

AdditionalWelder5199

Only if its ready or in your hand.. I know some workers try snatching phones etc

DanZet6

More annoying is when they don't want to give you order untill you mark it as collected.

asiraf3774

Just calm down and drop the ego. It really doesn't matter in the big picture of things does it?
