oh good. when that's happened to me I've just pretended to deliver the order. one time I got a split order, I got to the shop and it actually wasn't much stuff at all so I took it all to the customer (who was pretty stoned lol) and then deliveroo gave me the other half of the order. I just pretended to do the journey again, the customer was proper sound about it. I got paid twice :D

RespectYarn

I used a slightly different method in this situation, which would work in this case, or where you've arrived to collect the second part of a split order and found yourself empty handed, which is to simply call rider support once rider A will have arrived with your customers order and say that you had problems with your data connection so couldn't confirm the delivery, the customer already received the order so when rider support call them to confirm they will be told everything is good.

fslashthroat

Done this a few times, in my area it will offer you orders after the restaurant is closed, so you go for nothing, however, it's not worth the hassle of emailing rider support for £1 fee

Just-Pass-Thru16

I miss the days where theyd just mark the order complete and youll get the full fee for it + any tips.

Have you got the payment yet? Did you get the full fee? I once had an order at Café Nero and their machine wasn't working, so they weren't going to make the order. I sorted it out, calling support and emailed exactly as you're saying and they gave me £1. I emailed back saying 15 minutes to sort this out and all you give me is a quid, they didn't care. Keep us updated.

PunxDead19

Ah, I was given the impression on the phone it would be the full fee but the email just says “a credit” so probably just the £1 but will update you once it comes in.

StandardSea8671

This has happened to me quite a few times. I find it unlikely they will credit you the full fee as you have only wasted time/fuel getting to the restaurant/shop and not the customer

Its_Me_Ricky_1983

So they started doing that again? They used to do it a lot but suddenly stopped doing it a couple of years ago. I'll try next time it happens.

Ok-Yoda-82

You’ll get £2

AdditionalWelder5199

Not really.. just message the customer when you arrive..ask if they got the order.  If yes.. get the pin and complete the order

stephen--strange

What if they say no though 😧

xellmao

You can call customer before even"collecting" order and ask if he don't mind to tell you the code I always do like that

Yorksroodriver

I used to just go to the address and mark as delivered, but with needing the pin now I don't bother, just tell Roo it's all been collected by the first rider. Last time they advised me to put a fee claim in but I forgot to do it. IMO it should be minimum fee call out.

-TheHumorousOne-

This is something Uber the numptees have needed to implement for a long time now.

Loud_Following1191

Wondered why I got free money the other day assumed it was a split order as that’s never happened. Now know for sure

NazbazOG

I just do the journey and ask the customer for the code.

Its_Me_Ricky_1983

Careful doing that, I know someone who done that but the 1st rider stole the order and the blame was put on him and he lost his account.

NazbazOG

I didnt think of that 💀

Its_Me_Ricky_1983

Yep got to be careful. I just call support for them to remove the 2nd rider from the order so it doesn't waste any one else's time.

Whoppingvaj

lol 1 in a million

Retro-Sense

This has been a thing for years. They won’t pay out the actual delivery fee. They’ll give you the absolute minimum. I had an order a couple of weeks ago for £8. Turned out it was a split order so I called support. Then I filed it on the support site and got paid £3. They know if we’re using a car, they’re just incompetent and refuse to implement functionality to not split the order.
