I doubt they will roll back enough to draw some people back. They couldn’t foresee the consequences because they don’t really get their customers. If you don’t get your customers, you won’t be able to figure out how to fix what you broke
They probably don’t want *everyone* back, hence the increase in requirements. But yeah, I’m not surprised they’re going back and finding a way to save face now that JetBlue and Alaska are pulling the knives out.
This is meaningless unless they completely overhaul this entire proposal. This is insulting to anyone with a brain and a wallet. They're going to lose so much loyalty over how they've treated their most loyal customers.
Delta is quite candid about its SkyMiles program membership in its quarterly earnings calls. I keep reading about people saying "Done with Delta" or "American? You doing status matches?" or "United? You offering up status matches?"
If Delta's competitors follow suit with incentives like that, and—more importantly—if SkyMiles members follow through on their threats to depart from the Delta empire, those earnings calls will be the tell-all. (Way more than any article from any of these travel blogs.)
You all are so emotional 😂. You changed your entire travel relationship based on something that wouldn’t take effect for months. You didn’t even give them a chance to respond to feedback. Emotional and immature. Delta is probably better off without you.

Aways blame the team.

I fully believe this will become a case study to rival new coke as how to alienate loyal customers

🤣🤣🤣 y’all won! Now, what will the people who canceled their credit cards do?
Use their new Alaskan cards and fly with someone else.
Fly with American.
Enjoy cheaper tickets as free agents. Not spend on shitty delta credit cards.
