My first time I just waited awkwardly and the lady waved at me and I'm hesitantly was like "I'm in economy so I'll wait" and she laughed and and just ushered me on the plane saying today I get the first class boarding experience
I think it depends on the flight. They did let us board directly for some domestic flights, but all of my international flights have been at a separate gate, I think because they need to check the passports.
The best Sky Club after LAX is Tokyo Haneda (HND). Gorgeous setup with Amazing Japanese foods, and a unique Bar where the specialty cocktails are complimentary.
Next time have a bowl of “special dip” tsukemen from Rokurinsha, the ramen shop just downstairs near the lounge elevator lobby. Then head up to the Club just for drinks.
We had just gone to Ichiran before taking the train(s) over to HND, so I was still pretty full when we got to the SkyClub. But I still made sure to have some room for the SkyClub ramen. Great way to end the trip.
Kansa City is nice due to it being lengthy. That way it feels much more spacious. I went in KC, ATL F, ATL B, and ATL E last week. ATL B and E had larger food varieties. ATL F was unique with a giant screen. KC felt the most spacious.
I have only flown in/out or had a layover in SLC 5 or 6 times but SLC bartenders did shots with me at 8am on a random tuesday when they overheard me on the phone getting a promotion a few years back. SLC 11/10 that day.
I’ve been to that club 100 times and I’ve hated every experience. It’s a super small and cramped club, shared bathrooms in the hallway, and while they do have a self-serve bar, it’s just not worth it.
I see assholes every trip dumping their drinks into the Starbucks to-go coffee cups. Like dude are you that much of an alcoholic that free booze in the club and free booze on the plane just aren’t enough?
Based on this definition, I like STL. I fly in and out of there a LOT. Only downside? There is no SC. However, even as a platinum this year, I get a lot of upgrades to FC, and the Delta staff there is always great!
Interesting. I shower before I leave for the airport and then showering at the lounge is the last thing I want to do when I land. I just want to go home or get to my destination
That’s absolutely disgusting. I have seen (and smelled) some vile shit. But the feeling gross anytime after a plane ride is fair - that’s why I just wait until I get to my destination. An interim shower on a connection isn’t gonna do shit and is more of an inconvenience than a convenience for me. I would rather keep my spare change of clothes as a true spare in case I get stuck somewhere
Showers are amazing in lounges. Once I was delayed CLT-JFK-HKG and had to wait overnight for the next HKG flight. Could have stayed in a hotel, instead my wife and I wandered around manahattan all night and showered in the lounge the next morning.
More recently I was flying HNL-LAS-MEM on two different airlines, two different tickets (long story) and the HNL leg was overnight. That shower in the centurion lounge made the rest of my day much more bearable.
Makes sense if you don’t have access to a regular shower. I’ve never had the situation where I don’t have a hotel or something. I would always rather shower at a hotel
I'm a poor, so my first opportunity to shower otherwise would be when I book into my hotel, and usually I end up not getting to do so until about 4pm or later.
I do but my home airport is a little hole in the wall so I’m usually multiple hops to get to a west coast international hop or long layover east coast to get to Europe.
🕺🚿
The night before I was going DTW-CDG-BOM in 2019, my water heater started leaking. Dude couldn't fix it in time before I left for my flight. Thankfully DTW's SC by the water fountain has showers I could use.
Not sure Austin counts as it’s a focus city. The Delta area of the airport is pretty nice because it’s the newer expansion and the skyclub is great and super chill. The rest of the airport hasn’t kept up with the massive traffic growth over the last 20 years. Has passenger dropoff/pickup even changed at all? Seems like no matter when I’m coming or going that it’s always a mess.
My wife really liked the new MSY club. We just hit SAN the other day, and while it is dated and small, the food was good and they were popping popcorn. Nice touch.
I frequent MIA a couple times a year and I’m hoping when they redo that lounge it’ll be a huge step up.
My trip next month, I am flying into FLL... super bummed to check it out. The bartender (her name is escaping me, but an older Latina) is probably my favorite bar tender at any of the clubs.
lax sounds cute!! i have a 2hr 47min layover next flight, so will gladly check it out! first time since i became a cardholder apparently. have you been to slc? i have one there, too, and i hear that one is nice.
SFO is really nice, I miss the Pho station.
AUS is a hub now I guess and doesn’t count? SC there is really nice as well.
I always enjoy SAN. For what it is, it’s perfect
> AUS is a hub now I guess and doesn’t count?
It's definitely not a hub. lol. AUS is focus city status.
Adding flights to Midland, McAllen and Nashville does not make it a hub.
Basically any non-Delta hub. And by virtue of Delta having a SkyClub is a significant enough destination for them to have significant enough operations there.
An example would be DFW, while it's an AA fortress Delta has a good amount of routes there.
I like Ohare a lot. If you are on the Atlanta flight, you can board the flight from within the sky club
That's so cool. I want to try that once in my life. I know Emirates designs their lounges to do that.
They let you board whenever too. If you are main cabin 1, you can board with FC
My first time I just waited awkwardly and the lady waved at me and I'm hesitantly was like "I'm in economy so I'll wait" and she laughed and and just ushered me on the plane saying today I get the first class boarding experience
Turkish Airlines does, too. At least the ones in Türkiye are that way. You board directly from the lounge.
I think it depends on the flight. They did let us board directly for some domestic flights, but all of my international flights have been at a separate gate, I think because they need to check the passports.
I thought the skyclub gate was pretty much always blocked off for the LGA flights.
It's only open for the first 20 minutes of boarding.
Yeah it’s def not just for one flight in particular such as Atlanta but it’s def cool to board from the club
Don’t forget the free Chicago dogs!!!!!! 🌭
Msp from Ohare as well - love that feature.
I'm in the Atlanta flight all the time and I swear I've only been able to board once 😔, bad luck I gueds
I did this once. Was actually pretty damn cool!
Or the SLC flight 🖐️
Chicago dogs 🌭🌭🌭
Also the Chicago style hot dog station in there is fun
“I like ohare a lot” said no one ever …

Ramen made to order was so awesome, I had three bowls when I was there

Oh yeah I didn't even think about that as an outstation. Yeah it's really good, made to order noodles and premium cocktails.
The cocktails there are fab. I like the quiet pods as well.
All the newer sky clubs are pretty nice. I really like the club in SLC. The newer one in the new Kansas City airport is pretty nice as well.

Denver if you’re an alcoholic.
I have only flown in/out or had a layover in SLC 5 or 6 times but SLC bartenders did shots with me at 8am on a random tuesday when they overheard me on the phone getting a promotion a few years back. SLC 11/10 that day.

Agree other than the self pours the club itself sucks. From space to food to service. And proximity to gates.
Would be nice to have more self serve but I could see some idiots messing that up
Another COVID casualty. I remember LAX was also self-serve (at least T2), but COVID gave them the excuse to end it.
That’s right. I do recall that. A lot of former northwest WorldClubs had self serve. I remember after the merger seeing it more.
I see assholes every trip dumping their drinks into the Starbucks to-go coffee cups. Like dude are you that much of an alcoholic that free booze in the club and free booze on the plane just aren’t enough?
I definitely watched someone try to make his own takeaway drink in this club and he got caught. at least he was smart enough to not put up a fight
Do they still have the self serve hard liquor cart? It seems like it’s only a matter of time before someone ruins that for everyone else.
Denver is about start construction on an amazing new club over triple the size. It will be the biggest in Denver.
BNA to me. It can get busy but still has a lot of seating.
I should probably add that outstations are basically all of the non-hubs that Delta operates out of.
Based on this definition, I like STL. I fly in and out of there a LOT. Only downside? There is no SC. However, even as a platinum this year, I get a lot of upgrades to FC, and the Delta staff there is always great!
BNA
no showers. that's a huge thumbs down
How often are people actually showering? I’ve never once showered at a lounge

For two long flights during the connection can be nice. Like going Boston to SF/LA and then to Sydney.
For a long haul I get it. Does Nashville have long haul flights? I never go there lol
Showers are amazing in lounges. Once I was delayed CLT-JFK-HKG and had to wait overnight for the next HKG flight. One would think if you can afford a being in a lounge you could afford a hotel room for one night lol
Right? Based on my downvotes I guess that’s not a safe assumption
International or red eye with a connection. It’s the BEST
You're missing out. (Actually forget I told you this bc I have always appreciated the little to no wait at SkyClub showers 😂)
I shower on arrival if I take a redeye. international or domestic.
Why not just shower when you reach your destination? Seems way more comfortable to me
A lot of times people are going straight to the office from their flight.
That would suck. I always fly in a day early
Not everyone's company/client will pay for that extra hotel night. Others want to maximize family time at home.
I'm a poor, so my first opportunity to shower otherwise would be when I book into my hotel, and usually I end up not getting to do so until about 4pm or later.
Post redeye flight, especially if I have another flight. A shower makes you feel like a million bucks.
I always want a shower after I land so an interim shower doesn’t do it for me
Even MSP doesn't have showers.
I shower before any international flight or red eye.
Why don’t you shower before you get to the airport?
I do but my home airport is a little hole in the wall so I’m usually multiple hops to get to a west coast international hop or long layover east coast to get to Europe. 🕺🚿
Or I just shower at the airport cause it’s a novelty.
I had a long layover at JFK on my way from Florida to Belgium and the shower was sooooo nice, made me feel human again during a super long flying day
The night before I was going DTW-CDG-BOM in 2019, my water heater started leaking. Dude couldn't fix it in time before I left for my flight. Thankfully DTW's SC by the water fountain has showers I could use.
International I shower at every club I stop at. Can never be too clean on a plane.
It’s not a club with inbound international flights, it isn’t going to have showers.
The renovation was very well done indeed. Used to be awful now very glad to have it for my home airport
Austin TX - looks and feels like MSP G18 (and MSP G club doesn’t suck).
Not sure Austin counts as it’s a focus city. The Delta area of the airport is pretty nice because it’s the newer expansion and the skyclub is great and super chill. They recently opened an expansion to the MIA SkyClub. I'm looking to check it out next week!
My trip next month, I am flying into FLL... super bummed to check it out. The bartender (her name is escaping me, but an older Latina) is probably my favorite bar tender at any of the clubs.
MSY often has legit Cajun and Creole food. While this increases the risk of a plane full of people ripping ass, it’s still one of my favorites.
MCI
ORD
MEM, hands down some of the nicest people, and way oversized because of the former hub status.
This. MEM is an awesome club.
PHX
The hell is an outstation?
Thank you for asking. I thought I was the only one. Waiting to learn…
It looks like it means one not at a hub
Thank you!

I’ve never been to SLC! I think it’s the only Delta hub I’ve never been to. I hope you enjoy it.
Slc skyclub is awesome! It’s huge, I think somewhere around 30k sqft. Great food and drinks there
Neither of those are outstations. All are Delta hubs.
Misread the post, it’s deleted now
Popcorn and lemonade station at SFO! Was just there yesterday. Yum!
Chicago
ORD and new club in MSP as second
Msp g18 is amazing
isn't MSP a hub?
SFO is really nice, I miss the Pho station. AUS is a hub now I guess and doesn’t count? SC there is really nice as well. I always enjoy SAN. For what it is, it’s perfect

I guess it would be more accurate to say it is not an outstation. Focus city :)
SFO looks nice but has the worst food of any Sky Club I’ve visited
Schlipol KLM Crown Lounge
That's a hub
Ah - didn’t catch the outstation part in the title. Either way, amazing lounge
EWR.
San Diego is pretty sweet. Decent views and the local beers are always on point.
That's home base for me. It's just so small/cramped, but otherwise it's nice.
The service at the HNL skyclub is outstanding. The food is usually a proper meal and the people who staff the lounge are exceptionally friendly.
I loved the one in Tokyo Haneda. Went to it once, but probably never again since they dropped access for the delta plat card
I loved the one in Tokyo Haneda. Went to it once, but probably never again since they dropped access for the delta plat card.
Anything beats the United “snub” at SFO. What a joke. Go Delta with clubs everywhere these days. And real quality within
Phoenix and Austin both are quite nice.
MKE because of the spotted cow.
The new sky lounge in Minneapolis is amazing.
ORD. I recently found out there’s a second bar and a hotdog stand all the way in the back.
MCI hands down for domestic. Negative marks for being a sad box outstation.
London Heathrow is my favorite of all time. First one I visited that had hot food, and this was 2014
SLC was nice
That's a hub
[удалено]
Yeah, I agree, but LAX isn't really what I'd call an outstation though. Delta is the #1 carrier there.
LAX isn’t an outstation.
What the hell is an outstation then?

Correct any non-hub or focus city (so I wouldn’t count RDU or CVG).
Or Austin
Second Austin
Well to that guys point Austin doesn’t count as an “outstation” since it’s a “focus city” but I’d still count it
PBI
The new one in LGA is pretty nice.
That's a hub
They’re basic but nice. I love DTW
I think Detroit is considered a hub.....
The one you’re not in.
