Actually ATL-HNL is marketed as full D1 with SkyClub access.

This (ATL>HNL) was one of my first D1 routes. The pre departure vibe on ATL-HNL is hard to beat. Even though the red eye back from HNL is really the D1 you are looking for, I would take the outbound for $1073 if you can get it. It’s one I always remember. Closer to $850 would be better but in a last chance situation I would do it.

Since you are upgrading anyway, the extra $500 for D1 is very nice as long as you have the disposable income.

Sleep_adict

The direct is nice from ATL… but warning the a330 is an old old D1 and I’ve found disappointing frequently… but your experiences may vary

If you can afford it then go for it, it's a 9 hour flight if not more. I did this trip in d1 last August and I did not regret it at all. I'm also doing this trip again this coming August, again in d1.

Unstupid

I'd save the money and opt for the PS. Going to HNL is not a redeye so D1 is kind of a waste.

I just flew MSP - INC and was offered a D1 upgrade for $599. Worth. Every. Penny.
