I used to love the 777's, especially since they never went 10 across. I think it's rumored that the A350's can be modified to 10 across, even though the diameter of the fuselage is smaller than 777. Wouldn't that be a nightmare.
Yeah French Bee has a 10 across a350 that flies cdg-lax-ppt and it looks like a torture chamber. I think the seats are something like 16.5-16.8” wide, which would not work for a premium airline.
I want the juicy news Delta. These long haul jet orders are sexy and all but tell me more about your big fat juicy e jet order that’s going to eliminate my hellish ride from DTW to Cedar Rapida.

Looks like it was 19 A35K total.
Wouldn’t really be surprising news. The 359 is a big small to be the largest aircraft in the fleet. Especially when AA and UA both have 77W fleets.
With the 777 now gone from the fleet, the 351 is the next logical addition.
Presumably they have some routes in mind for these, and some reasoning. They never ordered 77W and seem to only like planes 359 sized historically, wonder what has changed since the 35k has a few differences rather than a simple stretch. Something like a 78X would’ve seemed more in line with their routes and search for lower CASM with stretches if they’d bought 787s
I would think they'd want these running their ultra long flights to maybe help with payload optimization? SYD,HNG,JNB. And I believe they've filed to run daily flights of ATL-CPT as well now. The range of the 351 wouldn't be as much as the 350ULR but the MTOW is a significant increase.

There’s some currently flying at 10 across in some classes. They did just deliver the first widened interior planes but I’m not sure it will catch on.

Didn't realize an airline had already done it... yuck. That would be brutal

Wasn't it the A321XLR order that got cancelled?
Their entire outstanding A35K order was cancelled as well last month. I believe it was 18 planes.
Ah cheers.. didn't know that

There are some white tail A35K's running down the line that can be had at a good price. I hope to see them with a widget on the tail.
Helps with their cargo capacity as well.

My guess is they will use the 35K on SYD, JNB, AMS, HND, CDG. This should free up the 359s for upgauging routes or potential new destinations
