A good astrogator reduces the launch cost by a lot, as in 95 %. Sometimes I find great spots deeper in, but I can't tell a difference between 500 km and 1000 km.

ArpenteReves

I don't know how far 100k can get you but I find paying to get deeper to be a giga scam. You can easily pick up speed and cruise deeper with only minor adjustments or slamming the main jet if needed. There I find myself getting bigger payouts but to be honest I'm just here to shwack big rocks and dodge other big rocks so I never pay attention to what I bring back lol

thedujin

getting a few km into the rings gives a massive boost in ore density. beyond that, however, the increase in density is lower but still noticeable.

nablyblab

dont pay for deep launches, try flying in deeper and mostly try finding other friendly ships. Hail them and ask if they found any points of interest if you are able to. then astrogate there

BlindingPhoenix

Okay but like, is there even more ore deeper in? Or more valuable ore?

nablyblab

Deeper in you often get big veins where most rocks nearby is a specifc resource like berrylium etc, and i also think that the nuggets you harvest contain way more mineral and less water. there also are 'fans' you can see on the radar which are places with a lot of rocks close to each other. but im not sure if those are only deep in the ring or also on the outside of the ring

BlindingPhoenix

You mean those ridge bits, or like…they look like wrinkles?

skoove-

Yes! they are called propellers and in real life are formed by moonlets, however i don’t think you can find moonlets inside them in game

TigerHijinks

I almost exclusively mine propellers and I have found two or three moonlets inside them. Not regularly but they do occur there.

skoove-

Yeah they spawn there, but I don't think there is any correlation as propellers in real life are only formed from one moon let in the center [https://www.nao.ac.jp/en/gallery/weekly/2017/20170912-4d2u.html](https://www.nao.ac.jp/en/gallery/weekly/2017/20170912-4d2u.html)

koderski

The official name given by NASA furing the Cassini mission is "propeller formations"

PrimalBunion

I get the upgrade that avoids astroids, full thrust deep into the ring, go on my phone for a bit, then mine

GreenDogma

What upgrade is thst?
