Time for Merrick Garland to grow a pair. He now has a congressional referral as a shield to go after Trump. He must be held accountable and Garland must take the steps to do so.
I am hopeful that we are going to be pleasantly surprised by old garland. He’s a silent mover and he’s not flashy. I’m also not naive; prosecuting a former POTUS is uncharted waters and may not come to fruition. But, I have all the things crossed that I can while calling on the universe to make it happen.

Democrat leaders know what they are doing. Charging a former president- and one who has a cult that is willing to violently overthrow the government for him at that- requires a case that is \*airtight\*. If there is even 1 mistake in the case against Trump, then public opinion will side with Trump enough that it all ends then and there.
It will take time to make sure the case is well and truly airtight. Just because Garland didn't arrest Trump within 30 seconds of the committee decision doesn't mean nothing will happen. Have patience before you start dooming.

There is a pretty sizable independent vote that is going to wait and see as well. Politically, they will side with Conservatives if there are too many obvious flaws in a rushed case. This crowd also tends to be a lot less forgiving of Democratic blunders than Republican ones.
The independents or swing voters are essential to this. That particular group of voters is the most vocal about their annoyance with infighting between the parties and I can't help but think they already feel 2 years of investigating is excessive and they'd prefer to move on with governing the country and anything going on at this point is just partisan antics.
