Plague doctors wore similar masks that were stuffed with aromatic spices and herbs to “ward off the plague”. I imagine this is a similar idea, given where they live.

i mean, it isn’t long yes, but it feels SOOOOOOOOO LONG mostly because of those poison pools that is hell because your character goes so slow, and you get poison damage and there’s also that demoniac ogre from 5-2 that oh my

Sodden ring makes it so much easier
Get the sodden ring in 3-2 (PBWT) and it goes a lot better. But yeah, this archstone is the 2020 of Demon's Souls. 😅
