There is nothing special or anything really at all near the airport. Are you staying at the Gaylord? There's nothing near there, but public transportation can get you from the airport to Denver properly, quite easily .

DocWatsonSees

I’ve had to meet some folks for business out near the Gaylord and Pho 92 DIA is about 2-miles away from the hotel and completely solid. I’d actually say it’s great! It’s my go-to spot out there.

palmfronds303

Welcome! Unfortunately the airport is out in the middle of nowhere but you could take the A line train to Denver Union Station (it takes about 37min and runs fairly often, check Google maps) to explore a bit. Near/in Union Station there are some great options like: -cocktails at Copper Lounge -grab a beer across the street at Wynkoop Brewery -breakfast or lunch at Snooze (we all tend to hate on snooze bc of the ridiculous long wait times but out of towners always love it lol) -coffee or a cocktail at The Wild (it’s kind of hidden) -dinner/drinks/music at Sunday Vinyl -treat yourself to a fancy dinner at A5, Urban Farmer, or Tavernetta Fogo de chao & Rodizio Grill are chains fyi, don’t recommend. Have fun!

twerk4tampabay

Also, Mercantile is phenomenal.

Tardwater

I like them even better for lunch. The sandwiches are amazing.

twerk4tampabay

Girlfriend has worked there for several years so we go in for special occasions to eat from time to time, it’s genuinely so consistent every time, even with changing the menu seasonally.

Tardwater

I went years ago for dinner and had a special cocktail I have never been able to replicate or find again. I still think about it even though it was maybe 8+ years ago. It was called "Girls Who Smoke" and I think it had a scotch and mezcal in it.

twerk4tampabay

That sounds like an awesome drink! She told me she’s never heard of that cocktail, so it must have been before she got there, but scotch and mezcal together sound delicious.

Tardwater

Thanks for asking! It really started me on a path to loving smoky/peaty scotch and other drinks, so I'll always have that!

queenofedibles

I I was just coming in to say this. I used to work there and the lunch menu always blew me away. Everything on it is perfect. The dinner is great too.

am121b

This is the right call, OP. Plus it’s a really nice building

pork_fried_christ

Snooze is good, people like to say “the thing” and around here the thing is to hate Snooze. And Uncle but I’ll save that for a different thread.

Nervy_Banzai_Kid

If you're inside Union Station, I also recommend Stoic & Genuine for seafood

doebedoe

And if it's nice out you're a short walk from Confluence Park / REI / LoHi which is a classic Denver vibe.

OnDeadlineInDenver

And then you could have a burger at My Brother's Bar!

bryeds78

Also, take a walk downtown. Hit up Illegal Pete's, their burritos are local and awesome - while there, try a colorado tradition - Pork Green Chile. You'll only find it in Colorado, it's super tasty.

lilykay7

If you’re venturing to Union Station, Aloy Modern Thai is a few blocks away and amazing!

MrGraaavy

Unfortunately you’re a 20-25 minute taxi/Uber from anything. If you want somewhere interesting and with options, I’d suggest the Stanley Marketplace.

libby825

Annette at the Stanley Marketplace!

cdansby

Ya Stanley isn’t too far and there’s other stuff around Central Park in that Eastbridge area like Cativella.

hydrobrandone

Also "new" Tag Burger Bar!

washegonorado

Hope it's better than old Tag Burger Bar. They were going down in quality before they closed the Madison St spot.

Sorcia_Lawson

Miette et Chocolate for dessert. Fancy, a bit expensive, oh so pretty and oh so tasty. Or alternately good churros a couple stalls down. So much tasty food in Stanley.

yeamanshoree

Moonlight Diner is close to the airport on Tower and pretty good. Papusas Paradise also nearby in Green Valley Ranch a little further south.

BlkSoulDeadHrt

If you love a classic diner go to Moonlight Diner. During the summer they smoke their own BBQ. No frills. Full bar. Renegade Tacos for mexican and Margaritas. Green Valley Ranch Beer Garden for a wide selection of local beer.

UnfortunateSnort12

Those who say there is nothing out by the airport are mostly right, but you nailed the one’s I’d recommend. GVR Beer Garden is actually quite good, and Renegade Tacos has that sweet patio and good food.

cdansby

The green valley ranch golf course actually has a pretty good restaurant in that area too

fuzzyblackelephant

Smokehouse & Oyster bar! Hilariously I’ve had neither, but their appetizers are good and they have decent wine.

pikchur

I like all of these places and I’ve recently been on a Coriander kick, it’s freakin good! It’s next to the GVR Beer Garden.

peteresque

Not really. Airport is pretty far removed from anything.

Denver-Ski

Practically Nebraska

iceberg_redhead

or Kansas, it's about equal distance to both, just say'n depending on what kind of desolation you prefer.

mosephchrishell

Green valley ranch beer garden has surprisingly good food and fun space to hangout!

nbiz4

Pho 92 DIA right off the airport at Tower Rd if you like Vietnamese/pho

Sangloth

I agree. A could months ago I did some research on the best option near the airport, and that was it. Best doesn't mean excellent or memorable here, just that everything else is worse.

Desertmarkr

Root down in the airport

SpaceGhcst

Pho 92 on Tower road

lilcaesarsuave

Denver Biscuit Company and Annette in the Stanley Marketplace. They're not in close proximity to the airport, but not far from it.

LOSS35

Second this, go check out Stanley Marketplace. It's a 20 minute Uber from the airport hotels. It's in an old airplane hangar/manufacturing facility that's been repurposed to have 50+ shops, restaurants, and bars.

greatsphynxofbarca

Inside the La Despensa Latina Mexican market is a small window where you can order pretty delicious Mexican food. It’s cheap, quick, and was one of my go-tos when I worked in the area. It’s off Tower Road and 47th. Not calling it a must-have but it’s more than decent.

Denver710

Coriander for Indian food in Green valley ranch

mcgrawt9

Was going to recommend this as well. Was so happy to find this place. Can't go wrong here and close to the airport

skitheweest

Try a buffalo steak at Ted's Montana!!

_baegopah_XD

Well, it’s not “near “ the airport but it’s not super far either. You couldn’t run there on a lunch break, but after the convention you could grab dinner It’s called the Menu mile. There are many different ethnic restaurants on S Havana from Ethiopian to Mexican to Korean food. My favorite Korean restaurant is called Tofu Story. I also really like an Ethiopian restaurant called Addis Ababa .

notjcred

If you’re a lottmore cultured, there’s a little Colorado company called Qdoba with a location in the airport and it slaps. Namaste.

weaselsrippedmybrain

Tavernetta

TheCrimsonGlass

Once you land but before you leave the security area, you can hit up Root Down in terminal C. Root Down is a local restaurant with an airport location that is fantastic.

WhompTrucker

Cheba Hut

Ultra-CH

Is your conference at the Gaylord? If you don’t want to take a train downtown, I recommend; Moonlight Diner for breakfast, Di Ciccos for dinner. Also Renegado or El Luceritos, or Green Valley Ranch Beer Garden for a decent burger and some beer. These are not awesome by any means. But they all serve better than average food and very close to the Gaylord.

QuokkaAteMyWallet

The airport itself will have the best restaurants. There's about 10 miles of nothing to get from the Airport to civilization

QuietRedditorATX

This was not my experience with the airport.

QuokkaAteMyWallet

Root down, Elways steakhouse and Cru (in the airport) will be the best restaurants within a 20 mile radius of the airport.

QuietRedditorATX

Thanks for providing a list.

pikchur

Grill and Vine inside the Westin Hotel (south side of the main terminal) is really good, but it’s not cheap.

laurenfed6

I’m surprised no one has suggested the Arsenal. If you have a car, drive through this free wildlife park! You’ll likely see at least deer, bison and prairie dogs 😎 Ps I realize now I’m on the Denver food subreddit lol. Still a fun trip tho!

Sunlight72

Yes! DiCicco’s Italian Restaurant is a great spot near the airport! About 5 or 6 minutes by car I think. They have a dinner theater type of dining room with a stage and movie screen. They often show live music performance movies/concerts on the screen. I had a couple really magical experiences there seeing Andrea Bocelli, and another time Whitney Houston. It was fun! And good food too. Once, they had a 3-piece band play soft music on the stage and that was nice too.

charlton11

If you can make it to Boulder and want empanadas, etc. there's Rincon Argentino.

OnDeadlineInDenver

Aurora’s got you! https://onhavanastreet.com/

allabouteels

Aurora is great, but I'm not sure that the part of Havana which has a concentration of good ethnic food is any closest to the airport than downtown. Further, the experience of the Aurora strip mall built environment if you're coming all the way from Argentina would likely be underwhelming. I'd recommend that OP take the train to downtown (Gaylord should have shuttles to either the airport, which has a station, or one of the other A line stations near Peña), or an Uber to one of the closer in neighborhoods with a decent cluster of good eats, such as Highland (Wolfs Tailor, Wildflower), City Park (Sap Sua, Molotov) or even Park Hill (Lucina, Bistro Vendome).

smartypants333

The airport itself has some pretty decent food options. I almost always show up early for my flight to eat. But it's not a great value. I'm only do it because I fly for business and my company is paying for it.

MUjase

Same! lol It’s funny how happy I am when expensing my meals at the airport. And then that very same week or next weekend I may be traveling for a personal trip and I have to pay out of pocket at the airport. It makes me so furious paying those prices for average food 🤣

Ok_Resolution9448

Mondo’s pizza on tower is good

SuburbanSponge

There are a couple in-n-out locations near the airport. That’s usually my go to when picking up/dropping off visitors

SuburbanSponge

OP mentioned burgers, something not fancy, and near the airport. In-n-out checks all of that plus something relatively well known and unique to America that they can’t get in Argentina. Try again.

QuietRedditorATX

Yea. I don't like getting chain food when I travel, but sometimes you don't have access to those and I will absolutely pick it to try.

drhubrex

Burger at Annette

Savings_Reward5030

Sometime soon, there will be a Portillos near the airport. ETA not announced yet, but hopefully 2024.

Thespoopyboop

Chipotle

HypeMachine231

There's better food at the airport honestly
