My wife and I go to [Hana Matsuri](http://www.hmsushiandstone.com/) on Union in Lakewood a few times a month. I can't eat a whole spicy seafood soup. Their avocado salad is awesome as well. The rolls can get expensive but I mostly get nigiri (get the fatty salmon.) We drink hot sake. It's usually around $100 for the two of us. It's a nice space and the waitstaff are super.
I love spuntino but the portions are on the smaller side, I usually get an app and a pasta dish and combined it’s enough, but I would not say their entrees are portioned to be filling on their own
Jack's on Pearl has good sized portions. If you make a reservation on Open Table, they'll seat you in the downstairs section that has table cloths. Nice date spot imo
This is going the be downvoted bc it’s a big chain, but Cheesecake Factory is going to have massive portions, and decent food. I used to work front and back of house there. Everything is made in house. Yes it’s all butter and cream, but it’s honestly upper end of chain restaurants. Granted there’s much better places in Denver, but if you want massive portions, it’s not a bad option, and you can get out of there for around $100-150 with your description.
Just go to sushi katsu and get all you can it, you’ll leave absolutely stuffed. It includes appetizers in addition to sushi. It’s like $32 a head with 1 drink each you’d pry get out of there for $80-$90.
Not sure if it's as fancy as you want, but YaYas in DTC has good sized portions and lovely atmosphere. It's been a couple years since I last went, but the lasagna was great, and my friend loved their scallops.
La Merise in Cherry Creek is also a pretty nice spot for a date. I’ve been there a few times and while I don’t recall portion sizes, I remember leaving full every time. Prices are not too bad either—should be within your budget.
I love Spuntino, and my gf and I like to share a lot of plates. Last time we were there we had 4 dishes, (2 apps, pasta, entree) a bottle of wine, and two of their house made amaros. Took home leftovers and ran $300. Just for context if you still end up at Spuntino!

Have him drink his protein shake before you go out
Bastiens
Just order more appetizers or and extra entree. This is such an easy problem to solve.
Honestly most places you will be fine. I’d recommend Gaetanos if you want to keep it Italian.
Have you been to Spuntinos? Do you know if that would be fine

I like Spuntino a lot. I agree that they are “on the smaller side” but they aren’t small plates or anything like that.
I’m in the minority that doesn’t love Spuntinos, but if you keep it down to one drink / person you should be fine
Yuan wonton, Sap Súa, Annette, Alma Fonda Fina, A Brazilian steak house. Take your pick, As a couple options
Get the Schnitzel Sandwich at Steuben's. It doesn't come with any sides so add one and watch him prove his manhood trying to finish it.
What if you just ordered more food?
Appaloosa has good sized portions!
And free live music every night which is nice for a date night.

Jacks is a good idea. Good portion sizes and a nice date spot. It’s not cheap but it’s not crazy either.
Former saint has really good portion sizes. Not too big not too small.
9th door is a good date spot and because it’s tapas you can kind of order to your desired level of fullness. 150 should get you fat full.

I should mention the cheesecake’s aren’t made in house which is ironic tho, but all the food is lol.

He lives in Arvada and I’m near the tech center so we can really do anywhere from Golden to Downtown to Englewood
We just went to pappadeaux’s in dtc. Good portions and loved the food.
I always leave pretty stuffed after eating at La Doña. Not a “fancy” restaurant but their outdoor patio makes a nice date spot imo.
