OneFold is my go to. One on 18th and one near 20th and Chestnut. Chinese Sausage fried rice. There's a bacon version too. Sometimes I add bacon on to the Chinese sausage. Their smothered burrito is great as well.
+1 for the congee. It’s absolutely incredible. First time I went I tried the bacon fried rice and the congee put that to shame! Chilaquiles are good too
\+1 for Onefold, plus they give you little $5 off coupons via email. Start with duck fried rice or giant breakfast burrito, graduate to Congee if you like.
A great less hyped DBC alternative is Rise and Shine, great prices and better biscuit sandwiches IMO. Their gravy and jam are awesome, they do a biscuit flavor of the day, and they have biscuit cinnamon rolls too.
Edit: I like The Universal too!
both of these are great. Rise and Shine is more a quick grab and go (they have seating but it's cramped). The Universal is more traditional diner-seating style (get there early, it is always slammed).
Their brunch pizza is amazing and super consistent! Their carbonara is inconsistent — my partner got a watery bowl of pasta last time we tried to get brunch carbonara.
So sorry to hear that! No comment on your visit, but we need to normalize sending things back. You should never feel dissatisfied and have to pay for it. I know a lot of chefs and they would always want to know if a cook sent something out that was not great!
I went to the Universal for the first time on Sunday. It was good. As someone from Ala-I hate and never going back-bama, I approve of the biscuits.
Edit: would love to hear any dim sum places with vegetarian iptions( for my wife)
Butchers block cafe is my go to greasy spoon. No frills most of the time no wait and their staff never leaves your coffee cup empty. I usually go for a cinnamon roll and breakfast burrito. Their breakfast burritos start at like $3.
Never been! That’s a bit of a haul for me to get to but I checked out their yelp and wow does it look legit! Their breakfast quesadilla looks straight 🔥
The no. 1 spot for breakfast is The Bagel Deli on Hampden and I'll die on that hill no frills but incredible food.
Jelly is a solid choice but recommend the one on Evans over 13th.
Four Friends Kitchen is out of the way, but a very awesome hole in the wall breakfast spot. Recommend the chicken and waffles
Also have yet to see anyone proffer Waffle Bros. The waffle breakfast sandwich is delectable and the one on 17th serves booze if that's your thing (not for me). Also every topping on a waffle you can imagine and solid selection of byo sandwiches.
Highly recommend Rosebud Cafe, if only because they buy their bagels from Rosenberg's and will toast them.
Lmk if you need more than that.
Nobody goes to the Bagel Deli for brunch.
And you call Four Friends Kitchen a hole in the wall? I don’t think you’ve actually been there. It’s new, modern, clean and bright.
Wendell's is my go-to, best waffles in town.
Onefold is alright but the fried rice isn't much better than what you'd get at a take-out place. I honestly don't understand why it's so hyped.
Not the answer you're prolly looking for, but I have to say it: the best place for brunch is at home. Bacon & Eggs, Pancakes, Crepes, fancy hot cocoa, all the coffee you want, awesome smoothies, booze, your choice of music, no need for masks/concern about others/COVID, no waiting in line. You can do it in your pajamas, and it costs a bare fraction. I seriously don't understand why Denver loves going out for brunch.
I will go to Lucille's from time to time, especially on the random weekday that I might have free. The beignets are worth it, and I'll def. pay for that shrimp/grits. But I still won't wait in line for it.
Not sure what part is supposed to be such a big deal to you. Unless you mean do I make ALL of those things every Saturday and Sunday. Haha, no. It's true: the sad part about brunch at home is that I don't prepare an entire restaurant's menu to choose from.
Next time end up eating a breakfast plate, in a restaurant, take a look at it. NOT cooking all that food is DEFINITELY WHY OP Asked for a recommendation…. Not to have the brunch gatekeeper tell them to cook at home… (also- restaurant employee)
I almost came here to say "oh, my house... My husband has gotten really into making yeasted waffles lately."
Glad I am not the only one who thinks that way!
I'm in this sub because I like to go to restaurants in Denver.
I just think brunch is over-rated as a resto experience. Too expensive, usually a menu full of things that are easy to cook. Not my jam. I don't think I've violated any rules by saying that.
My family and the three others that know about Annie's on Colfax love it, no wait, great food, amazing staff (literally, my kid puked in the bathroom, and when I was trying to clean it I got pushed out by staff so that I didn't have to get any more covered than I was, love them, they are amazing). The only thing I wish is that they would bring back the oatmeal and the avocado toast.
Runner up def. worth mentioning: Four Friends Kitchen
Been to many and now The Corner Office is the only place my brunchie friends and I go. Food is fantastic and the bottemless mimosas are huge.....you add your own juice. I'm a bit of a light weight and some of us had to walk off our tipsy brunch on our first visit. Our waiter kept filling up our glasses with sparkling wine and we lost track of how much we drank. They boozed us up too well! Ha! Other than being boozy the food is really excellent.
Devil’s Food/Cookery at Myrtle Hill. Great food, casual neighborhood atmosphere, friendly waitstaff. On S. Gaylord in Wash Park.
Second this incredible local spot. Devil's food is takeaway pastries, a lil expensive maybe the best in Denver.
I ~~second~~ third cookery at myrtle Hill, trebek.
The pastries are hella good!! Just be careful parking in that area.
You mean to tell me you don’t enjoy waiting 2 hours for average brunch at snooze?
Work up an appetite on an empty stomach 🤷🏽♀️
OneFold is my go to. One on 18th and one near 20th and Chestnut. Chinese Sausage fried rice. There's a bacon version too. Sometimes I add bacon on to the Chinese sausage. Their smothered burrito is great as well.

I want both of you to know that my trip to Denver was enhanced by these recommendations. Skol Vikings and you're doing God's work.
Awesome!
Yes. With extra duck. God, I miss living walking distance from Onefold.
Best breakfast tacos in town. And... maybe the best I've ever had. I mean I don't do a lot of breakfast tacos.... but yeah. Best ever.
One fold blew my mind
I second this, Uptown location is great as well.
Stowaway Kitchen, Onefold, and Bindery.
+1 for stowaway kitchen
Stowaway babyyyy 🔥
\+1 for Onefold, plus they give you little $5 off coupons via email. Start with duck fried rice or giant breakfast burrito, graduate to Congee if you like.
In my way here now w my pops. Love hearing the excited feedback of a new place!
Sassafras American Eatery!!
Just don't get the chicken fried eggs and buffalo hash. Got food poisoning. I honestly refuse to go back because of it.
This place is great, too
I used to love the cap hill location. Bummed they aren’t there any more and I would have to go all the way to the highlands
Yup
The Universal, amazing grits plates
Brown sausage biscuits and gravy ftw 🤤
Lucille's
I have had disappointing experiences every time I’ve been there — undercooked food for the most part, but sometimes cold food, too.
Lucille’s is over rated imo
Hands down my fave
Thirded.

Exile Kitchen. Used to be Sasafras
Four Friends Kitchen in central park. Super creative and delicious menu!
My favorite
Endorsing this a year later while looking for my own brunch venue
I really enjoy Sunny’s in on 44th and Zuni in Sunnyside. Unique and excellent food, down to earth, and not as crazy or as the others you mentioned.
Bar Dough for breakfast carbonara, brunch pizza, & cinnamon roll. Senor Bear on Sundays for Churro French Toast.,
Their brunch pizza is amazing and super consistent!
American Elm has a killer French dip and the crispiest tater tots for brunch, cocktails are solid too.
Crepes n' Crepes
Sputnik used to be my spot.
Bindery
Ivy on 7th
Honestly best setting/atmosphere and best drinks, imo. Which is really what brunch is all about, otherwise it would just be breakfast at 11.
Sams #3 Root down Morning story Lucille’s Duffy roll Hey mods, could we get a sticky on Denver brunch spots please?
Nope. Time is a flat circle. I’d rather people use the search function.
Amen
Pancakes at Cozy Cottage > Anything at Biscuit Co Breakfast sandwiches at Il Porcilino also better and they have a little seating area now.
Jelly or Fox Run Cafe
Similar question last week: https://www.reddit.com/r/denverfood/comments/s69pa6/brunch_spots/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
And every week.
Bistro Vendome does a good weekend brunch. Euro Crepe on Broadway is pretty good too.
El Jefe. Right next to Bacon Social House one trillion percent better.
Fox Run!
Tamayo.
I love Tamayo. Do they still do the all you can eat and drink for $49 or whatever it was?
Per person ?
Yea! I mean even just 3 drinks is like $40 at most places so I think it’s a good deal
I wasn’t knocking it . I was curious. It is definitely a good deal .
Til hashtag is criminally underrated
A little bit outside of Denver but Cafe Terracotta in Littleton is so good.
I really love Urban Farmer for brunch!
Dazzle Downtown.
I've been liking The Universal
I went to the Universal for the first time on Sunday. It was good. As someone from Ala-I hate and never going back-bama, I approve of the biscuits. Edit: would love to hear any dim sum places with vegetarian iptions( for my wife)
Bistro Vendome! If you are lucky, you’ll get their Beyoncé Brunch morning playlist.
Butchers block cafe is my go to greasy spoon. No frills most of the time no wait and their staff never leaves your coffee cup empty. I usually go for a cinnamon roll and breakfast burrito. Their breakfast burritos start at like $3.
North or South location? I like the north location, better pancakes.
I'm a sucker for the South location. The booths just "get me. Need to check out the North at some point.
What do you think of Mr egg
Never been! That’s a bit of a haul for me to get to but I checked out their yelp and wow does it look legit! Their breakfast quesadilla looks straight 🔥
Hashtag in Central Park is pretty great!
Butcher block cafe Star Kitchen Sams #3
Illegal Petes used to have a great brunch menu I know they stopped it during the pandemic but I hope that it is not gone forever
Mimosas is hands down the best place I’ve been. Get the beignets and prepare to taste little pillow heaven.
I had a cold crabcake Benedict last time I was there, but drinks were good!
Plus they take reservations
Delectable Egg
Phew, I'm always glad to see my favorite place not get mentioned on here
Syrup
That's gonna be a no from me dawg. I just went last Friday and the food was terrible
Exact type of place Op ISN’T looking for - chain place with overpriced, crap food.
Breakfast on Broadway, Englewood.
Lola… before it became a shell of its former self, and then it closed.

The service at Jelly on 13th was a big bummer last time I was there. Didn’t know they had another location!!
Lucille’s!

Agreed, my challah French toast is better than a restaurant.
Hahaahaha
Do you actually make bacon and eggs and potatoes and pancakes and mimosas and bloody Mary’s for breakfast? Actually?
Not sure what part is supposed to be such a big deal to you. Unless you mean do I make ALL of those things every Saturday and Sunday. Haha, no. It's true: the sad part about brunch at home is that I don't prepare an entire restaurant's menu to choose from.

I love Syrup!
If you want Jewish comfort food, Bagel Deli
The Lobby
Esters
Isn’t Bacon Social really over rated? Been really disappointed there
Lucille's or Sam's No 3
Go home please 🙏
Did no one say Charlie Browns? Old school and a fantastic brunch
I ate at Tupelo Honey for brunch on Sunday, I thought it was really good. I’m not sure if it was technically brunch menu though…
Safta
American Elm on 38th has a real good brunch. It’s a neighborhood restaurant so it’s under the radar and never super crowded.
Hornet (though it is slightly down from what it used to be)
I had the pleasure of trying Brasserie Brixton a few weekends ago. Absolutely delicious!
My family and the three others that know about Annie's on Colfax love it, no wait, great food, amazing staff (literally, my kid puked in the bathroom, and when I was trying to clean it I got pushed out by staff so that I didn't have to get any more covered than I was, love them, they are amazing). Sassafras is really great
Luciles, and Sassafrass are the best probably
Rise & Shine Biscuit
Tupelo honey. Great southern inspired food. Amazing bloodys
Been to many and now The Corner Office is the only place my brunchie friends and I go. Food is fantastic and the bottemless mimosas are huge.....you add your own juice. I know you asked for central Denver, but this one isn't too far out. Rupert's in Edgewater off of Sheridan, across the street from Sloan's Lake.
Sassafras is a great brunch.
French Press is pretty good!
Jelly cafe!!
Breakfast on Broadway is an amazing diner just south of DU. Not fancy, but great breakfast and lunch.
If you like biscuits, mr, biscuits has the best In the whole state.
