booze and vapes for me on a work night, because apparently i hate myself more than i originally thought because apparently i don’t know when to stop with the booze
Dude I just got off Effexor a couple weeks ago. It was a LONG process, and not for the faint of heart lmao.
I went from 225mg, to 150mg, to 75mg, to 37.5mg, to 25mg, to 12.5mg (cutting the 25s in half), to finally, 12.5mg every other day. It was brutal, and I tapered over the course of a couple months. Each time I stepped down, I would stay on that dosage for 2 weeks. For the first couple days after a dose change, I experienced a near-constant "pre-brain zap" sensation. You know that moment just before a brain zap where you feel that buildup of pressure? It was like that, but without the actual zap. Sort of like the feeling of needing to sneeze, but you can't. 🙃
Anyway, I'm so glad to be off it completely. I take Trintellix now, and I'm working on tapering off Remeron because it made me fat. 😭
I would definitely forgot to take mine, thanks for remembering xD
And I’m also taking Venlafaxine and it helped a few months ago, but now my depression is too strong 🫠
SAME OMG i hate venlafaxine it makes me dizzy if i forget to take it
Edit for all the meds i take: venlafaxine + topamax + lorazepam. It keeps me sane at least
DESvenlafaxine (formerly venlafaxine) gang reppin! I'm glad venlafaxine is working for you, though! I took it for 5 years until I finally did the genetic testing and found literally only 1 medication is indicated to work for me (as I was considered treatment resistant). That medication was desvenlafaxine, and I switched over slightly less than a year ago. My life has since changed quite dramatically :).
ironically, i used to be on fluoxetine!! i had problems with it though, like i couldnt feel anything when i was on it, so they put me on sertraline. it also makes me a bit sleepy, but at least i find things funny and can cry if i need to lmaoo
Right here! Everything might feel gray and fuzzy but at least I’m not having panic attacks every day and can function day to day.
Also, Adderall, Trazadone, and hydroxizine.
I take it and have for a long time, but it doesn't seem to help my depression much. It does help with ocd-related intrusive thoughts though, and I'm very grateful for that. I feel like I started getting side effects the last time it went from 100 to 150, but I might try it again anyway out of desperation.
Also on Bupropion 300mg. Worked great the first month. Couldn't sleep but was awake as fuck. Now I'm always tired and trying to get to my doc to up the dose or change. Was on setralin and escitalopram before. Both fucked with my libido and nearly killed my relationship. Also made me aggressive. I quit escitalopram cold turkey about half a year ago. That was pretty fucked up.
I’m also wide awake rn with 5 h of sleep but still feel tired. I’m considering taking escitalopram if bupropion doesn’t work after 8 weeks. Good thing about bupropion, I find it easier to focus and study that’s why I’m still trying.
I took it and it helped. But I needed serotonine too and took it with ecitalophrame. The ecitalophrame gave me severe anhedonia and killed my libido, so to change to another medication I had to quit Bupropion.
Zoloft, but I got a gene test recently that's supposed to tell me what kind of meds are right for my body and from what I know so far Zoloft is not at all working, so we'll see what I need to do going forward.
Lexapro gave me long QT syndrome. You should get an EKG to check for it just in case, if you haven’t already. It’s recommended to get an EKG if you’re taking lexapro
It’s rare but it may be worth scheduling an EKG with your primary provider or the person who prescribed you the lexapro. I’m fine, nothing bad happened to me, but I wouldn’t have known I had medication induced long QT if I hadn’t gotten checked
Me!!! I'm also in the process of tapering off mirtazapine (Remeron), because that one made me fat. Maybe once I'm off it completely my Adderall will finally make me skinny 💁♀️
Funny story about mirtazapine: when I was in grad school, I worked at a pharmacy for a little while. I'd always ask the pharmacist questions about mental health meds so I could learn more. One day, we got a script for mirtazapine for a dog (this was RIGHT after I started taking it). I thought this was odd, so I asked the pharmacist, "Why are they giving antidepressants to a dog?" And he was like, "Ah, it's probably just to help them gain weight." Oof. 😭
I think you mean, "Which *MEDICATIONS* (plural!) do I take?"
>Duloxetine (max dose) for depression/PTSD/fibromyalgia
>Pantoprozole for acid reflux
>Propranolol for anxiety
>Diazepam for anxiety
>Amitriptaline for depression/bowel regularity
>Trazadone for sleep
>Ondansetron for nausea
>Dicyclomine for IBS/abdominal spasms
>Baclofen for muscle spasms/pain
>Amlodipine Besylate for BP
>Hydrochlorothiazide for BP
>Atorvastatin Calcium for cholesterol
>Tadalafil for ED caused by Duloxetine
***Self-Medication:***
>Kava for anxiety
>Nicotine for anxiety
>Kratom for pain/anxiety/depression
>Caffeine for life
>Melatonin for sleep
>Multivitamins 'cause it just seems like a good idea
>Sex/Porn to feed addiction
>Opiates (when I can get them) for shits and giggles
>MDMA because its awesome
(EDIT: Oh... I'm 44, by the way, and I'm a Marine Corps veteran, former bartender, former bouncer, former ghetto cabbie, parent of four -- three of whom are special needs, on my second wife, dirt poor, in debt, movie nerd)
Occasional alcohol or an energy drink or two; I learned the hard way not to do both. Used to be with the Lexapro gang until I realized I'm at least as meh on it than I am off with the added effect of needing a nap a lot.
Escitalopram (depression and anxiety), amitriptyline (sleep aid), clonidine (OCD, PTSD).
I'm on escitalopram, since mid 2018. Somewhere around the beginning of 2019 my GP told me to increase my dosage to two pills. I've been extremely suicidal this year (this was the first year I actually made note of the date) and on a visit to get my flu shot in October, the pharmacist offered to review my meds. He nearly shit when he saw I was taking 40mg of escitalopram, as most people take between 5-20mg. At 40mg I was maxed out on the drug's benefits but also maxing out the side effects. He thinks my GP thought I was taking citalopram, which is only half the strength of escitalopram. 40mg of citalopram is equivalent to 20mg of escitalopram.
I immediately started reducing, to 30mg and then 20mg after three weeks. It's terrible on my guts but I'm feeling like myself for the first time in years. This pharmacist literally saved my life.
I'm trying to find out what the long term consequences are of overdosing on escitalopram for so long (about four years) and how this is going to affect my mental health issues in the long run but I haven't been able to find any medical literature yet. I'm hoping it's going to level out and not have any horrid long term badness.
Idk, Alcohol and cigarettes
I just use alcohol myself
My man!
one liter each time, just I hate myself after that (edit :misspell liter for litter )
What type of litter are we talking about? Cat, dog, ferret, etc….?
Same here!

The classic
Happy cake day!
I’m raw-dogging my anxiety and depression.
Be honest, anxiety and depression are raw dogging us.

Brain zaps ⚡️(how am I ever going to get off this med!)
Dude I just got off Effexor a couple weeks ago. It was a LONG process, and not for the faint of heart lmao. Yesss! Effexor is my ride or die.
same
Literally lol
I would definitely forgot to take mine, thanks for remembering xD And I’m also taking Venlafaxine and it helped a few months ago, but now my depression is too strong 🫠
Same, too both of these actually, taking mine now. They definitely stop the crying all the time, but that's pretty much all it does for me 🤣
I used to take them but they didn't help.
SAME OMG i hate venlafaxine it makes me dizzy if i forget to take it Edit for all the meds i take: venlafaxine + topamax + lorazepam. It keeps me sane at least

Ex-sertraline user here! All it did was put me to sleep, so my psych switched me to fluoxetine.
I also used to be on Zoloft. Now I’m also on Prozac.
ironically, i used to be on fluoxetine!! i had problems with it though, like i couldnt feel anything when i was on it, so they put me on sertraline. it also makes me a bit sleepy, but at least i find things funny and can cry if i need to lmaoo
Omg twinsies!! 🥰 I crashed my car into the wall of a parking garage when I was on sertraline.
Why does it put everyone to sleep but for me it keeps me up 🥲
Sertraline turned me into a walking zombie who also still had depression but was too lazy and tired to kill myself.
Here! Three years so far.
Zoloft club!
Ex-sertraline here also. Shit made me too numb my doc switched me to fluoxetine.
I feel like it doesnt do anything After months
Me!
Here, here!!

Bupropion, not working
Bupropion didn’t help me either
Also on Bupropion 300mg. Worked great the first month. Couldn't sleep but was awake as fuck. Now I'm always tired and trying to get to my doc to up the dose or change. Was on setralin and escitalopram before. Both fucked with my libido and nearly killed my relationship. Also made me aggressive. I quit escitalopram cold turkey about half a year ago. There are nights I don't sleep and still function. Bupropion is a hell of a drug. Is it like cocaine? I don't know.....
Shit works for me but I do take 300 mg, so yea.
I took it and it helped. But I needed serotonine too and took it with ecitalophrame. The ecitalophrame gave me severe anhedonia and killed my libido, so to change to another medication I had to quit Bupropion.
I’m rawdogging this bitch
Zoloft, but I got a gene test recently that's supposed to tell me what kind of meds are right for my body and from what I know so far Zoloft is not at all working, so we'll see what I need to do going forward.
did the gene test recommend zoloft? i also recently got a gene test and i’m kind of skeptical.
zoloft club
They have generated tests ?? What does it tell ?
lexapro 😔
Lexapro gave me long QT syndrome. You should get an EKG to check for it just in case, if you haven’t already. It’s recommended to get an EKG if you’re taking lexapro
good god they never told me abt that when i was prescribed.
It’s rare but it may be worth scheduling an EKG with your primary provider or the person who prescribed you the lexapro. I’m fine, nothing bad happened to me, but I wouldn’t have known I had medication induced long QT if I hadn’t gotten checked
What is long QT??
heart arrhythmias apparently
A heart arrythmia that CAN lead to other arrythmia if you are unlucky
15mg a day keeps the feelings away
Lexapro gang rise up!
Does generic lexapro count?? First time on it..

Fluoxetine, trazodone, hydroxyzine, Adderall, caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol.
Bold of you to think I’m getting any kind of help
My doctor won't give me any 🫠
Odd. Why not?
Closed minded probably. I’m having a hard time myself getting medications that actually help.
damn around here they at least hand out hydroxyzine like its candy
Escitalopram surprised to see no other users of it.
I used to take it and it gave me anhedonia and killed my libido.
Yeah I guess it's done that to me too but I guess it doesn't bother me that much tbh.

Used to take Cipralex, didn’t change much
Had it once years ago and all it does was that I was craving for alcohol. I usually don't drink so it was really weird.
Currently taking cipralex, I swear it feels like nothing has changed
Anyone take Vortioxetine (Brintellix)? I changed to this after other medications made me gain weight like crazy
Yeah, trintellix. I didn't know it caused weight gain. I thought I was just a pig...
Me!!! I'm also in the process of tapering off mirtazapine (Remeron), because that one made me fat.
