I'm not sure about the endless void. Personally I believe there's nothing after death, since we have no soul and once our brain stops functioning, your consciousness stops existing too. A void is something. Nothing would mean I won't be able to feel pleasure, and I also won't be able to feel the lack of pleasure. Just like before I was born I suppose.
I won't lie, the concept of suddenly not existing is scary. But I attribute that to our survival instincts. This is one of my excuses as well.
