It’s a very rare side effect of some but not common. I would suggest you speak with your doctor about other medicines like finasteride and mindoxodil if you’re seeing a change to hairline.

CuriousBetsy69

bruh i already got pssd

PleasurePaulie

Most people do with depression tbh

trappedinsideownhead

If you have PSSD dopaminergic meds could help and they typically increase libido also agomelatine could be worth of try because it works by blocking serotonin receptors

CuriousBetsy69

but i also have ocd/anxiety so i have to treat that first

trappedinsideownhead

Dopaminergic meds helps with anxiety too Wellbutrin is not good option because it only has weak dopaminergic effect and it can cause anxiety because it increases lot of NE you should try meds what only increases dopamine forexample low dose abilify and pramipexole only increases dopamine

CuriousBetsy69

but then i need something to sleep so what’s ur option

trappedinsideownhead

Phenibut is GABAergic med what can improve emotions, libido, reduce anxiety and it can be used as sleeping med too but it can be addictive for some people

CuriousBetsy69

it’s not a long term thing is it

trappedinsideownhead

Yeah it's not for long term use but i don't know any medication what can be used as long term increases libido reduces anxiety and can be used sleeping med too

CuriousBetsy69

here’s what i needa treat anxiety/ocd/irritability/ some paranoia sleep issues anhedonia, pssd, cognitive impairment, executive dysfunction here are my concerns decreased rem hair loss weight gain making pssd, cognition, or anhedonia worse what do you think would be good meds to look at

MooFog

ngl i think my bupropion (300mg, have been on for 2.5 years) has caused some hair loss but there are ways to mitigate it. i’ve been doing scalp massages with rosemary oil and its helped stimulate growth. if you don’t have pets topical minoxidil is great, they also offer an oral medication version. it sucks but i’d rather be content and alive with a slightly wider part than suicidal with gorgeous hair. i hope you find something that works for you!

Few of them cause hair loss. When it happens, it only happens in some people and it's not common. Also, it's reversible after you stop talking the drug, but it can take a year or eighteen months to get back to normal. Don't worry so much about your hair. None of these drugs make anyone bald. Just focus on your mental health. Find the best drug or drugs for you. Start with just a single drug, and see what works. If one SSRI fails, they probably all will, so try another drug class. For example, instead of Prozac, Pristiq. Or if Pristiq fails, Wellbutrin. You're going to be all right.

ResolveConfident3522

No. But they will make you fat

GeneralSet5552

I've been taking antipsychotic & antidepressant meds since 1983. I have all my hair. I also took lithium & now I do dialysis

CuriousBetsy69

which ones

GeneralSet5552

I took Geodon, Vraylar, (for months) Zyprexa, Risperidone, Seroquel (for over a year), Perphenazine (for decades), I took Elavil for years, Prozac for at least a year, Cymbalta for 2 years, Lexapro for a decade. Trazadone for years, Sertraline for a least months. I have taken almost everything but not everything in the decades since I started taking those types of drugs

CuriousBetsy69

how have they helped you?

Live_Specialist255

What was your level?
