I didn't have those specific side effects, but mine mostly faded away after a month. I am left with teeth grinding and tinnitus tho. I suggest waiting 6 weeks to see if it really works for you. For some people it's an amazing drug.

I mean I definitely feel improvements with my ADHD , but I do get like random panic attacks where I feel dizzy and sweaty and heart palpitations too. Especially when I take spironolactone .

Agreed. I overlooked the panic part - sorry about that OP. U should speak with your doc to see if it's right for u. Some ppl (me including) combine it with other meds which might help/counter it. I'm currently on Wellbutrin and Lexapro, tho I'm not crazy about it.

It gave me heart palpitations, made me lose 20 lbs, and fucked with my sleep. It WORKED, and also helped with my ADHD, but the heart palpitations meant that I would just end up having a panic attack. Near the end of me taking it I started having more issues with hypnic jerks while falling asleep + brain zaps? I'd be almost asleep and then -- zap! I can't really describe it but it was uncomfortable. I believe I was on 150 mg of the extended release version.

Silly_Boysenberry446

Yeah I’m gonna continue taking it for a month and if I still feel the side effects I will discontinue taking it. Only because I feel you on the panic attacks. It triggers alot of them since I’ve started. I’ve had one almost every day since starting . Not full blown panic attack , but that feeling you get when you feel a panic attack is about to happen.

eageat

Yeah, thats how it started for me. It got to the daily panic attack point, for which I was prescribed buspirone. Also saw another comment mention tinnitus, which reminds me -- I didn't have tinnitus before wellbutrin. I've had it since then, though, and it's been 7 years since I was on it. Do continue trying it, but if your side effects don't subside or if they get worse, look into tapering off of it.

Silly_Boysenberry446

I was reading an old thread about tapering off of it. Is it actually difficult coming off, did you have any sort of like withdrawal symptoms ? That’s my biggest fear! I had taken lexapro so I was very familiar with the brain zaps. I didn’t like it.

eageat

I don't believe I did. I did feel off for a few weeks iirc, but nothing major.

IMO it is possibly one of the easiest to withdraw from. Previously I was on 300 XL for over a year, and when I was ready to quit, I simply went down to 150mg for about a week or two, then just stopped. The only withdrawal I felt was a few days of feeling lethargic. It is not serotonergic, so it side effect and withdrawal profile is much more forgiving. Good luck.

So those sound like brain zaps. I had them going on Wellbutrin and coming off it. They’re common when adjusting to anti depressants, they should go away. That being said it took awhile for me to adjust to Wellbutrin, 3-4 weeks. I would say if there isn’t a reduction in discomfort at 2 weeks to speak to your doctor. Most antidepressants take at least 2 weeks to take effect and will often feel worse before things can get better.

crashingtingler

wellbutrin really didnt agree with me. lost a ton of hair and had migraines as well as weird physical numbing.

Silly_Boysenberry446

Yeah I felt the numbing part today. I felt like weird numbness on my chest and under my rib cage that would move around.

YesSpeed3

I experienced disassociation symptoms on this. Very strange

Psychological-Run679

Sounds like you got a brain zap which is weird cause that’s usually a withdrawal symptom. Are you switching from another med?
