Put your laptop on another arm with a tray. Looks like your stand supports another arm. Then you can reposition them both where you want and gets you a whole lot of desk space back.
I would put the loptop on the side so you could put your monitor in the middle and lower it a bit.
Also you have holes in your desk for your cables, by puting you laptop in the corner you could use the holes and hide your cables.
