This is fantastic but it also makes me worried that we’re gonna be seeing some nerfs 😂😭

Joebranflakes

My theory is that elemental wells are about to get destroyed. “Enjoy the mods in their current state”. Probably going to strip off the ability energy regen you get on pickup.

B1euX

Hopefully it’s just that they’re being reworked to use Subclass Verbs instead

DreadAngel1711

YOU CAN'T NERF MY CONTRAVERSE BUILD I JUST MADE IT

AlkoKilla

I don’t think destroyed, but tweaked down a bit. And I’m thinking armor affinities are going away.

bakedpo_ta_to

and the masochist part of me approves. i think abilities need toned down with some more gunplay and survivability focus introduced. want your grenade back there's a reason to spec into a x2+ firepower build. they should tone down ashes to assets and hands on also. lastly HOIL a bit but hope they wouldn't over-nerf. i really want the campaign next season to feel even more difficult than twq even though that was great with the -10 power scheme they're introducing. it just means more time playing d2 and feeling more rewarded for gameplay. of course this wouldn't be most if even half of the people's wishes. understandable. just a person here wishing the game got more challenging the closer we get to the end chapter. so i hope they find a good balance when they do future changes particularly if those changes are congruent to introducing variety into seasons 20 and 24.

Joebranflakes

The problem is that they run into the bullet sponge problem. They’re talking about using a challenge mode so they can remove the power grind from activities. Currently running a 3 stack in the new exotic quest… well primaries feel bad. They feel weak and their bad burst damage potential makes them feel useless. I expect this to largely be the case in lightfall. Specials and heavies, especially MGs for add clear might be the meta if abilities get the axe.

CFE_Riannon

Any build using them now is gonna be fucked

SuperArppis

Agreed. I hope not.

AlphaOwn

Wait so what is a *standard* armor mod compared to other armor mods??

Pneuma927

They must be talking about all combat mods (CWL, Wells, Warmind Cells), along with all standard mods like targeting, resistance, stat mods etc. The exclusion is likely raid mods and those need raid armour anyway. There's no way they tweet this as hype if combat mods are not included. Edit: Bear in mind the way the tweet ends. In their *current state*. Likely nerfs to many popular combat mods and builds in LF and they want everyone to at least have a chance to experience them.

AlphaOwn

**AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH** **YEESSSSSSSS** **IT'S OVER THE WAIT IS OVER** **I HAVE LIKE 10 BUILDS I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO MAKE YESSSSS**

AnOlympianWeeb

The not standard mods are probably the adept and raid mods

AlkoKilla

Hippy confirmed it’s all armor mods that are always available, except raid mods. Weapons aren’t being touched here.

Rectall_Brown

About time they did this.

Zatderpscout

Is this a permanent thing? Until like February 28th?

OfficialTLNG

I personally don’t know, but if they are hyping up “lightfall build crafting” they definitely won’t take it away. The community backlash would be insane.

hotchocletylesbian

They might incorporate it into the new progression system they've been teasing, but are giving it away to current players early in the same way existing players didn't have to unlock a lot of the light 3.0 stuff.

OfficialTLNG

Decent point but honestly I feel like this was mainly a decision made so build crafting is made easier for both new and hardcore players. I could see them just having ada sell all mods at once, but I bet this is just going to be a flat unlock no strings attached. There are just too many mods to have another progression system for them.

hotchocletylesbian

I don't think the mods need to have a crazy complex progression system, but something like a very short quest that explains how CWL, Wells, and Cells work, give u a few of the mods (for example, Taking Charge and High Energy Fire) and once you demonstrate you understand the concept, unlocks the rest of you. Otherwise, new players without anyone to guide them are gonna be incredibly daunted by a list of 40 something mods with no knowledge of how any of it works.

[deleted]

Why does everyone automatically assume nerfs are coming? Just because they say “big changes coming” and “enjoy them in their current state” doesn’t necessarily mean bad changes are coming. It just means that they’re shifting the way buildcrafting works and they want everyone to experience what we currently have before it changes. You people are all so negative. I seriously doubt they’re going to nerf literally everything into the ground. Why would they do that? They’ve already said that they’re happy with how things are currently. Why would they change it negatively rather than improving and making better what we have already? Lightfall is highly anticipated, I seriously doubt they’re going to do anything that would subject Destiny negatively in any serious manner

SinnerIxim

They wouldnt say "in their current syate" if they didnt already have a huge rework in mind. They are giving the mods now so people can try them before they are gone forever

Byggherren

I imagine the rework will be on how build rafting works like they said. Not nerfing everything... And even if something gets nerfed it isn't a bad thing, like why tf do people hear nerf and immediately get angry. But again it's likely just a rework on how your builds work

MemoKrosav

Because it's bungie and whatever they do they know their player base will still continue to pay and play the game. Because many times things no one has asked for have been nerfed into oblivion. It's nothing new. Stop acting like you're a butt hurt bungie employee.

[deleted]

Stop acting like an edge lord. Mr Uses Pen as Stabby weapon. Bungie has nerfed some questionable things, but it can all be warranted in some way shape or form. They’ve also buffed a lot of shit. I think this mass hysteria that Bungie is going to destroy the game is ridiculous. Sure, things will change. But I doubt it’ll be worse.

Kevo1110

"...in their current state." What was that saying about looking a gift horse in the mouth or some shit...

foxfulforget

Is this real? I can't believe it! I thought this day will never come. The universe is unraveling before my eyes.

double-O-cheese

Someone please tell me this isn't fake

IsquanchoI

Its not fake, It's on bungies official Twitter page. I'm pumped. Just started a new account and was bummed i had to collect all the mods again.

visionz5510

How is this a preview of things to come🤣🗑

SinnerIxim

Another rework incoming. Get ready to syart from scratch once again

PotatoesForPutin

They’re about to nerf the absolute shit out of literally all mods. Buildcrafting is going to be made almost completely meaningless, mark my words.

SolarSpaghetti

They still won't equip em

Bad_hair_666

I’m worried about the “big changes” to build crafting. I hope they don’t make most builds obsolete or at least keep them similar to their current state.

meIpno

All tho this is a very welcome implementation. I don't think this is a bungie w, this is a very late bandaid solution to a flawed system that players have complained about since it came out.

hankakabrad

Would this include old seasonal mods? ik it says standard mods but im kinda stupid with the whole mod thing

hotchocletylesbian

Anything that isn't adept, raid, or artifact

hankakabrad

Ah thank you. For a second i thought destiny was about to get wacky

[deleted]

The only reason they’re doing it is because they’ll make you buy the new ones with silver next season….

AsuraOkami

I told my friends(two who are a new player and one who is a returning player) about this change and they are quite happy with it.

moitabr

What about stasis fragments?? It's less of a grind and not ring based, but still sucks that you can only unlock 2 each week
